We hired Pickachili to come help feed my guests that were gathered for Trail of Lights. The trailer was a huge hit and the food was perfect! Roxanne and her husband were super easy to work with and their food was extremely tasty! She gave us four chili’s to chose from which could be topped on three different bases(fancy mac, Frito pie, and hot dog). I loved that there were gluten free and vegetarian options! I would 100% recommend them for any event that you are considering. Can’t wait to visit them at their permanent location too!

My first visit to Austin and I was looking for a quick bite to eat before a meeting. Looked up PickAChili on Unilocal and was not disappointed. Seriously the best chili cheese dog I’ve had in a very long time. The staff was very friendly and willing to chat too. I’d definitely recommend if you are downtown looking for a good fast option.

I came here on a Saturday night to pop my Texas Chili with some friends. The cooks were friendly and recommended I pick the Red River chili at the top of the list. I picked cheese mac as for what my chili would be on(I’m use to rice, but this is Texas). I also got some avocado on it too. I think I picked mild and got a few jalapenos. I didn’t want to die during my first Texas chili tasting so I went light. They take cash and credit card. My order was ready pretty fast and the chili looked amazing. I’m use to eating chili at home, but this is even better. You can taste the flavor of the sauce and the meat on top of the mac and cheese. What more can you ask for. I have more chili to try out, but this was a great start!

Decent chili, fresh tasting, but honestly lacked some seasoning and wasn’t very flavorful. There is a richness and satisfyingly savory quality I like in chili that wasn’t quite there. I had the Red River Red on Fries as suggested by the lady taking my order. Price was ok to slightly on the high side for the portion, and I was offered(i assume) free bacon which was nice after I had already paid and the staff was friendly and eager to please. I’d probably try them again, but I sure wasn’t singing the over the top praises of the other reviewers before me unfortunately.

Possibly the three best chilis Ive ever had are at this place. I know chili and this food truck is legit. Really nice abd personable owner operators also. I recommend the blond chicken chili or the red river chili.

I sampled the Beef Eater Bean and the Red River Red today when the trailer was located at 5th and Colorado. I went with a 12-ounce Beef Eater Bean with the cilantro, cheese, onions, and green onions on top. I thought it was very tasty. The 12 ounce size was enough to fill me up for lunch. The Beef Eater Bean had a good combination of spices, meat, and beans. I’d recommend it if you are nearby and in the mood for chili.

Another downtown food trailer legend in the making? What makes a legend, well I would say it has to be cooked with love, and that my fellow Austinites is bubbling in those chili pots for sure. I’ve only tried the Beef Eater chili and have had it twice. It’s that good and has a generous kick so add the avocado slices on the side. What ever the chili accompanies from the menu list is a winner. I’ve been planning on bringing more items from other places and adding that chili to it. Think chili-n-kebabs, or chili-n-pizza, or chili chicken and waffles(I’ve done this and it is not for the faint of heart D-licious). The best part, he parked a block away from 6th and Congress. I just hope they don’t move.

Awesome chilis! Great depth and layers of flavor for each chili, the zesty blonde was especially flavorful and unique.

I gave up hope finding a good chili spot. Today I had the best chili I had I years. I was completed blown away by the Colorado Green on fries. I just about licked my plate clean. I love food trucks and this one just became my favorite. The service was excellent, the price was great and the quantity was more than enough. You now have a loyal customer.

Hands down best chili I’ve ever had! Ordered the Red River Chili with sweet potato fries. Soo good! I sampled all the varieties of their meat based chili and all were really good, fresh, creative. Owner was super friendly and even offered to deliver my order to me while standing in line for LA Barbeque. I highly suggest getting a side of chili here to compliment your La Barbeque brisket.

This chili was amazing! In all honesty, we only checked out the cart to grab water bottles while waiting in line for barbecue. But they totally sold us with the free samples! The traditional chili was fantastic and that’s what we ordered in frito pie form. Our whole group loved it. I want to come back so i can get a full serving of the zesty blonde!

Anyone who is from Texas can say that chili is just a way of life. There are numerous places around this great town of ours who have good chili. Picachili isn’t one of those«good» chili places, they have the best chili. Seriously, the best. Not sure what kind of chili you want? Don’t fret, you can sample all of the delectably delicious creations this place has to offer. I had a few different varieties but my absolute favorite was the Red River Chili. I mean, he makes it with Shiner beer, and you can taste it. Not overwhelming, just a nice hint. So if you are looking for and unforgettable treat, this is your place.

Very good chili in several flavors including a vegetarian version which was excellent. Especially good when watching people stand in line for three hours to eat at La Barbecue. I would recommend this truck to all chili lovers.

Stopped by and got in line for la Barbecue. The line was moving slowly and I noticed Pickachili on the west side of the yard. It had no line. I bailed on la Barbecue and created a line of one at Pickachili. They’ve been open for just two weeks and are in a little 40+ year old Airstream. I went with the Red River Chili with no beans, over cheese fries, with onions and cilantro. Fantastic. By the time I left I noticed that I still would have been in line for BBQ. Take advantage of this market inefficiency before it disappears.

I am a born and bred Texan, so of course I love chili. And I am very partial to Texas chili(i.e. NO beans!) and my standards are somewhat high. So I was happy to see a new option for chili, as I feel Austin lacks in this area. And I will tell you, every chili at Pickachili gets high marks from me(the wife and I made it a point to sample each one). Of course the Red River Red is my favorite, and it goes great on the chilirito. But then so does the Colorado(green chili pork). The wife also enjoyed her blanco(creamy white, chicken with beans) on a wedge. And the chili pot(loaded potato) looked delicious with every flavor. The concept puts a creative spin on classic chili, which can obviously stand alone, but which also pairs well with all of the Pickachili options. We can’t wait to try them all!

Dragged to LABBQ with carnivores, this neighboring food truck was a pleasant surprise. You pick the chili you want and add it over a base. I tried their vegetarian chili option with lentil/eggplants and it was really good! It had a little heat and not overly sweet like many veg chili out there. It was added over sweet potato fries and melted with cheese. The guy at the food truck was really nice and helpful as well. After standing in BBQ line for a couple hours the other people were also enticed by the chili I was eating and grabbed their own snacks. Based on their feedback the meat chili were good as well. I would definitely recommend whether you are in the neighborhood or standing hungry in line waiting for BBQ.
