I was really looking forward to eating here, but they are out of town until the end of Summer. I’ll edit my review when I get the chance to find them later in the year.

Cute little trailer. I love the sassy-ness of it all; from the name to the blaring music to the vintage posters to the handsome little devils inside. Their sausage mac n’ cheese is AWESOME, and has a little spicy kick to it. The bacon-wrapped fried pickles definitely piqued the interest of my envious friends(who went with Mexican food, instead). They were good, but I’m telling you — THESAUSAGEMAC N CHEESEISTHEREALSTARHERE! My only complaint is that it took a VERY long time for me to get my food. The trailer had a sign on it that said something like«We will re-open at 5pm». It was 4:45 and I decided to wait. Around 5:10, I noticed other patrons who were waiting around starting to order from other food trailers. At about 5:30, my friends were telling me to give up hope. At 5:35, I knocked on the window and asked the guy inside if they would be opening up soon. He said, «What time is it?» and I said«5:35, your sign says you would open half an hour ago.» He told me it would only be another 5 minutes. My friends were basically all finished eating at this point, but I had high hopes(and plus, I’d already invested 50 minutes of time at this point) and luckily they were willing to hang out and chill while I waited. After exactly an hour of waiting, the trailer opened up and I ordered. It took another 15 minutes to get my food after that. In total, I waited 75 minutes. The food was delicious, and devoured quickly… but if that replayed again, I don’t think I would be willing to wait more than 15 minutes. It must be difficult to manage supplies and stuff on a smaller scale(and out of my love for small businesses, I decided not to detract a second star), but that wait was ridiculous.

I’m in love with a pig! First time to eat here. I asked the guy at the trailor which sandwich was his favorite and he recommended the Mescaline Hi-Hat. I’m so happy he steered me that way because it was like taking a bite of heaven. This definitely won’t help anyone’s weight loss program, but who cares!

Part of my amazing FOODTRUCK experience in Austin. I ordered what i thought was the most intriguinging thing on the menu. Bacon wrapped deep fried pickle spears with Aioli sauce! Pretty good. Can’t really go wrong with something fried and wrapped in bacon! Service was great… super friendly. We got a little bit of something from a couple of the food trailers in the park, so would love to go back again and try some of the other menu items. Sausage mac and cheese and Doc Marten sandwich have me interested… need another weekend trip to Austin I guess.

Sampled a bunch of stuff from the trailers in this park with my boyfriend one night and was told this place had bacon-wrapped fried pickles. UM, EXCUSEME? GETINMAHBELLY! We promptly ordered one order and waited for it to be cooked while we nommed the rest of our food. When it came out, they were kinda small and I was a bit disappointed. When I tried them, the taste can only be described as bacon and pickles. I’m not sure what I was expecting, but it just tastes like. pickles and bacon. pretty boring. Even plain fried pickles are better than this. But if you like the price, they’re very reasonably priced. $ 3 for two pickles, $ 5 for 4 pickles

This review could easily consist of a simple list of the foods I have eaten at Pig Vicious, and you, my dear reader, would certainly understand my 5-star rating. For example: deep fried, bacon wrapped pickles. Do I truly need to say more than that? In case I do: one time, I was surprised with the most artistic and delicious pork taco I have ever tasted in my life. There was some sort of gourmet magic in the layering of flavor in that taco, but I’m the sort of person who eats at food trailers for less than $ 10 a dinner, so I really couldn’t tell you about it. Suffice to say, pork taco = put it in your mouth. My true favorite here is actually the Doc Marten sandwich(no bread for me, though, just a knife and fork please). Bacon, a fried egg, tomato, and some sort of wonderful aioli sauce. Sometimes I luck out and they put a slice of pineapple with it. Just writing this is making me want to go there after class tonight…

I scoured the East Side Trailer park to find which trailer food would be for dinner. I am a sucker for pork tacos, so when I saw Pig Vicious served them, my mind was set. The pork was moist and flavorful without the smokiness that some places over do. It was a simple taco with a little cabbage & cheese, it hit the spot. I did not order but had a few bites of the Sausage Mac n Cheese. I thought the Mac n Cheese was lacking on the cheese and all I could taste was hot sauce. Love this food trailer park. Don’t let the heat scare you off, they currently have make shift shade using camouflage netting.

Buzzcock… are they referring to the female adult toy or the legendary English punk band??? Hmmm…that’s a question for the ages. One thing I can tell you is that I love the Buzzcock(the menu item… not the toy, BUT I am a fan of the band). Split hot dog topped with their scrumptious sausage mac and cheese. Upon hearing my name being called, I rushed up to the counter, giddy… I was handed a hot dog with no mac and cheese! The fine young man noticed my confusion and caught his mistake… he quickly retracted the hot dog(force meat tube steak for those of you in the know) and piled up the mac and cheese. Perfect balance of mac, cheese, and sausage tickled my palate. Just enough heat to accent the saltiness of the hot dog. Mmmmmmmmmmm… Regretfully, I didn’t get to try any other menu items… this time! Sleep soundly with the knowledge that I will in fact return to gorge myself on the porcine offerings…

People have been telling me to go here for months! So the wife and I hit this place in the middle of the afternoon with 110 degrees of doom melting our shoes off. I expected Pig Vicious to be bigger, brighter, with a light from heaven shining down upon it. Didn’t get that experience, but there was a lot of bacon on the menu to make up for the appearance! We got the Doc Marten and the Union Jack. Bacon + Fried Egg + Thick Tomato + aioli was so good. But then the bacon + oregano-covered tomato + lettuce + olive oil. was even better to me. The wife wasn’t so crazy about all the herbs, Both sandwiches were served with a half slice of fresh pineapple that ate the skin off my lips, but man it was so sweet and perfectly good between bites of salty pig. The bacon: It was thick, fatty, and just between chewy and crunchy. It lacked the normal hickory smoked flavor you’ve been eating all your life. I suspect it was a salt cured bacon due to the salty yet mild flavor which was quite pleasant. I love fried pickles and I love bacon, but the taste of the two together was not cool… UNTIL I DIPPEDITINTHEVICIOUSSAUCE! It was cheesy, tomato-y and had a good heat from the sriracha sauce. I wish we’d had time to order everything on the menu. We will be back!

long wait. OK food. Oh how I wish I could give Pig Vicious an even higher review. The food was mediocre & the wait was insane. Went on a Friday evening & waited for more than 30 minutes for a taco & bacon wrapped pickles. This place has a lot of potential. The menu is a bit limited & I very much hope this changes. The Foldover: this taco wasn’t anything spectacular. The toasted tortilla was nice touch. Needed more Pig Vicious sauce. Bacon Wrapped Pickles: this wasn’t too satisfying. The pickles weren’t crispy & the bacon wasn’t flavorful. The dipping sauce was the best part(Pig Vicious sauce). I’d be willing to give them another try. It IS bacon – meat candy!

We had just walked Town Lake and felt that we needed to offset the exercise. What better venue than a place that sole purpose is to serve greasy pig. The idea was grand but it was semi busy. We asked how long the wait was and got«15 minutes.» So we said let’s do battle and ordered some fried pickles with bacon and a Foldover. The cholesterol inducing anticipation was building. 5 minutes, 10 minutes… then 30 minutes, WTF? I’m sitting there this entire time smelling the grease that frying from within the trailer. Now I’m hungry. I probably smell a bit too at this point.(I had exercised, not because of anxiety sweats) A bit past the 30 minute mark they call our name and I rejoice. I notice the quality of the bacon immediately. Good thick cut of bacon. Properly seasoned and perfectly crispy. Maybe I was too hungry. Maybe I was just hoping for too much though. The fried pickle with bacon was salt on salt so my mouth dried up extremely quickly. The concept was simple and nothing out of the ordinary. Take pickle, take fried bacon, bite one then bite the other. MEH. The Foldover was also filled with a good cut of bacon. But the flavor combinations once again left me going MEH. Eggs, avocado, bacon and some Sriracha sauce(labelled Vicious sauce because it’s mixed with something) in a tortilla then put onto the same grill used for frying the bacon so that even the tortilla is now unhealthy. Not impressed I have on another instance tried the sausage mac and cheese. That was worth raving about so I did have hopes for this place. It let me down, as much as I let my diet down. I am wanting to try again for some of the sandwiches, they did look tasty.

Oink! Oh dear heaven above… thanks for the diet destroying gift of Pig Vicious! Pig Vicious popped my trailer cherry. They are always going to have a really special place in my heart. I ordered the«The Mescaline High Hat». Ohmygosh. YUM! Cheese, bacon, avocado, bacon, some bacon. Oh, right, peppers too… but bacon! I can tell you it was fantastic. It was dark out so I could drool as much as I wanted too. Props to the staff in their adorable trailer. I want to move in! Complete with doggy bags and a bowl for your dog this trailer is heaven on wheels. Make sure you BYOB! Also, they are in the vicinity of the Starlite Drive In. Perfect date night anyone? I’m glad I drive a Tahoe so I can pretend I’m bringing people food in my truck while I secretly sample from all these fantastic trailers! Oink. Oink. Oink. — side effects.

You owe it to yourself to get to the Food Trailer Park in Austin. Yeah, it’s on the slightly shady side of the bridge, but this place is the kind of stuff that makes Austin… well, Austin. We agreed to make the trek here for the well-reviewed Vegan Yacht, as repayment for my wonderful wife accompanying me to Lockhart for some bad-ass BBQ. The park itself simply consists of a fenced-in, gravel-and-dirt lot in which is parked a number of indie cred food trucks, selling everything from vegan wraps to egg sandwiches, to burgers, to my favorite… the porcine awesomeness. Pig Vicious sits like a squat, regal king at the back of the lot, with an old-fashioned light-bulb sign reminiscent of the midway of old, proclaiming its title. The trailer sports a menu of but a few items, one of which called to me like a siren to a sex-starved sailor: «The Mescaline High Hat» A quesadilla with smoked bacon, spicy homemade sauce, tomato, cheese and avocado. F&cking Brilliant, my man. Oh. Oh. Did I mention that this gent built into the side of his trailer a TV on which he plays episodes of Family Guy? Yeah. PS, none of the trailers serve beer, but I saw plenty of sixers of Lone Star, so it seems like a BYO situation. But get your ass over there, and if you’re from anywhere but Austin, be jealous that Pig Vicious doesn’t live in your town.

Walking into this food trailer park today, I was drawn to the Vegan truck first but it was closed and then I saw the Pig Vicious neon sign sitting in the hot afternoon sun and made a bee line to it; what can I say, I am a woman of extremes. I am also probably the only person who hasn’t had a BLT before, so I ordered the Union Jack which was stacked with thick bacon, lots of leafy lettuce, and a thick slice of tomato. I am not as fanatical about bacon as a lot of other Unilocalers, but I was impressed by how it had a nice texture for a sandwich, chewy and meaty. The tomato slice was coated in olive oil and herbs and really tasty. The chips were coated in a red herb mix and vinegar, and I became so fixated on figuring out what the seasoning was that I ate all of them. As a result, I was too full to finish the BLT, but that just meant I could save it for dinner, which is right now… While this trailer accepts credit cards, there is a 50 cents fee. Only a few trailers in this area accept credit cards so bring cash.

Bacon galore! I had a hard time choosing what to order off their menu, and eventually settled on an item under their«taco type shit» category. The«foldover»($ 4 cash/$ 4.50 credit) came with a fried egg, bacon, guacamole, hot sauce, and cheese on a soft & crispy flour tortilla. Nothing on that list of ingredients screams healthy but if you’re looking for a terribly greasy and delicious concoction, this is for you. Things to note: Each of their tacos comes with a side of potato chips. The bacon here is thick and hearty as opposed to thin and crispy. They accept credit, but charge $ 0.50 extra.

This last Saturday, we agreed to meet some friends at the Vegan Yacht before heading out to Shangri-La for Misprint’s Beard party. I hadn’t planned on eating but while everyone else was eating their carrot, hummus and sprout sandwiches(definitely not something I wanted), my boyfriend and I agreed to share the Mescaline High Hat quesadilla from Pig Vicious. SOOOO good. It comes out looking like a bit of a mess with the sauce and cheese oozing out, but one bite makes it worth it. Thick, juicy bacon that almost has the consistency of tender brisket is pressed in with their signature spicy Vicious sauce, cheese and tomatoes(i think). It is to die for. The portion was pretty large and 2 triangles were enough for me. I have been craving it ever since. I can’t wait to go back and try their sandwiches and the bacon wrapped deep fried pickles!

The Doc Marten is full on, 100% legit — an arguably perfect ratio of cheese, egg, bacon, and tomato — but at $ 7 it will likely be only an occasional treat and an inspiration for my homemade breakfast sandwich endeavors. When I’ve got the stuff sitting at home to make the same sandwich, there’s really no excuse to be eating out. The Mescalin High Hat was less expertly formed, in my opinion. It was tasty, but the flavors didn’t really work together for me. And unlike most quesadillas, the cheese didn’t hold the two tortillas together at all, so it kind of just fell apart into a mess. That being said, I still wolfed down the entire thing, but I wasn’t as impressed as I was with the egg sandwich. Their milkshakes are tasty, even with the bacon(I had the season pumpkin milkshake. Worth every cent of the $ 4.) The owner is awesome. He put up with my time intensive ordering process and explained everything I asked about patiently. With Pig Vicious in the mix, this east side food cart lot has enough variety to give the 6th and Waller lot a run for its money.

Velvetta-style sauce on precooked pasta is not normally my cup of tea… but when dining at trailers… do as the Austinites do. BLTs out of a trailer. Austin trailers never have a lack of creativity for food… they always pull out traditional food items that are forgotten and recreate them in a trendy fashion. I finally made it to PV because I was on the East Side after 7PM. The scene was totally something out of a movie scene: dark trailer park, cold weather, 4 guys wandering around for something to eat. I scanned my options and decided on the anticipated Pig Vicious. The food is fairly pricey, but it is tasty. My Union Jack had thick-cut, fresh tomatoes; fresh lettuce; and 4 perfectly crisp and chewy thick slices of bacon that were neither greasy nor burnt. Also, some spices were sprinkled on. Great sandwich, but small and not substantial at $ 7 a pop. Heavier, but extremely salty was the unique Sausage Mac and Cheese. I saw the chef pull out the pre-cooked farfalle. I was scared… why was my mac and cheese not prebaked? The mac and cheese is basically pasta with a heart-clogging sausage cheese gravy. It was mighty satisfying on a cold night. On any other day, it would be way too heavy and salty. PV serves a good mix of well-prepared classics with a spin or two, but $ 10 for a filling meal is a bit higher than I would like to pay at a trailer. But do try their meat and cheese gravy over precooked pasta, it hits the spot on a cold, dark night.

I. Love. Bacon. This place is great. I had the Doc Marten which consisted of an egg, bacon & some other awesome stuff on toast. Also got the mac & cheese, yum. They take credit cards for .50 extra. If you like bacon go here!
