Mmmm, pizza and beer. Lots of beer, and a decent amount of pizza. Wherever you go, carbs everywhere! Pinthouse has a good selection of mainstays, seasonals, and guest beers. There’s something for every taste without being super overwhelming — whether you like it bitter and hoppy, smooth and malty(or on nitro), or light and crisp. Food — I like their ordering system. The food section is separate from the beer, and all you do is go up, place your order, and you get a little buzzer that vibrates and lights up when your food is ready. You then go to the pick up area(and might I add that everything is well labeled?) and trade your buzzer for your grub. Simple and efficient. I’ve had their pizza once a while ago, and if I remember correctly it was decent and very filling. Loads of toppings are always a plus for me, but I think it might have been a bit too much on the chewy side for my taste. I’d still order it again though. The nachos are also decent — acceptable amount of toppings, though your bottom chips are going to be quite bare. Good thing they provide you with salsa on the side! The Beer Mates are basically garlic/parmesan/etc breadsticks that have a nice crunch to them. You also get to choose a sauce, so whether you’re feeling like marinara or queso or one of their other many options, you have the power to decide! If you’re feeling less carb-inclined, they offer a few salads. I haven’t had any yet, but they sound pretty good. There is ample seating, TVs all around, and a few arcade games. Pinthouse Pizza is a solid joint and so far I’ve enjoyed the experience!

This place has quality pizza, good beers on tap, and good service. The downside here is how loud and crowded the place usually is, which also means parking can be difficult, but it’s a fun vibe. The inside has long tables inside with communal seating, which can be great for groups if it isn’t overly crowded, but extremely difficult if it’s a more crowded night. The pepperoni and basil pizza is delicious on it’s own, but I like to add jalapenos. Pizza is thin crust, with just the right amount of chewy and crispiness(in my opinion). Maine Root soda is in the fountain, which is always a welcome sight for me. The staff is so diligent at getting empty plates and pints glasses off of tables, and so helpful behind the bar and order station. Great place overall.

Pizza. Beer. Games, Sports. Sounds like my college life except everything has improved tenfold from my days in the dorm rooms. They use fresh ingredients and I don’t feel guilty eating a slice or two or three. The pizza rolls are«lose a digit on my finger» good, but just a digit, let’s not go overboard. The beer selection is one of the best in town. The rotational menu is great as it offers a huge variety. The house made brews are tasty, especially the experimental stuff. My biggest issue is parking and seating on a crowded night but that’s what you get when are you good.

Preface this review with the fact that Pinthouse Pizza is a loud, family friendly place with communal dining tables. Don’t be put off by that, but immerse yourself in the neighborhood vibe and look out, because 3 out of 4 times we go here, we spot someone we know! We are not big fans of TV screens in our restaurant choices, but it’s a bit of a sports bar, so we just ignore them. I think Pinthouse has some of the best thin crust pizza in town, and since that is what we like, that is all we order, so I won’t speak to other formats. Fresh, crispy crust, gooey mozzarella, artisan sausage, best pepperoni we ever ate and the fresh pop of cherry tomatoes and great sauce… what’s not to like? We like the Pinthouse salad(spinach, feta cheese, pecans and dried cranberries with a luscious dressing) on the side and have been known to indulge in a few beer flights! It’s a great way to try some different beers without breaking the bank or your liver. There are not a lot of frills here, but there don’t need to be. Good, satisfying pizzas, salad, beer, and the overall chaos of a friendly neighborhood block party. Jump in! The water is fine!

Would live to give this place 5 stars but I am so tired of the hipster scene in Austin. Most staff fits the hipster type here. But I love the pizza and beer selection. Arcade games(just a few) are a plus!

Do you have any idea how hard it is to find a place that everyone in my family likes? My son is the world’s most picky eater, my spouse has no patience for crowds or snobbery, and I often choose the path of least resistance when it comes to family meals dining out, meaning I eat a shameful number of mediocre burgers and diner food meals. But now, we have Pinthouse Pizza to make everyone happy! I avoided even trying Pinthouse for months after it opened, as I’d heard the crowds were dense and that would certainly be a showstopper for us. However, I finally discovered that the sweet spot for people who prefer some personal space is on weekends before 11:30a. I can mosey up to the counter, order my lunch, and then pause at the bar to taste 4 or 10 delicious and unique craft beers while having a pleasant chat with the knowledgeable bartenders before settling on one precious brew to enjoy while my pizza bakes. The kiddo plays Pacman, the man watches Big Lebowski on the flatscreen, and we soon all get to eat a quite tasty pizza pie with ultra fresh toppings made by a local business working hard to do it all well. So far, my favorite topping combo has been the Bahn Mi special(pork & spicy sauce & veggies & herbs — perfection!) that was going this summer. It’s gone now… bring it back! Bring it back, please! We usually get the Caveman(all the meats) for ourselves and the boy likes a plain cheese. The crusty, yeasty pizza bones are too good to toss(unless you’re one of those unfortunate bread haters), so order some extra sauces on the side for dipping. There’s some kind of enthusiastic seafaring theme going on in the décor; lots of shipping and fishing references abound. Not sure what that’s all about, but I will say that Pinthouse makes some delicious seasonal beers and the selection is different every time I visit. Parking is a bit of a challenge. Watch out for the towing signs at the next door places and be careful with the one way in, one way out in the back yard parking lot.

Love this place when I am wanting pizza and beer! They have really affordable prices and the pizza and salads are really good! They have these breadsticks called Beermates that are super tasty and really really cheap. They come with a delicious ranch sauce too. My major complaint here is they charge for more dipping sauce for the breadsticks if you run out. I understand charging for dips with the pizza but these breadsticks already come with the dips! It is really inconvenient to have to stand in line all over again just to get a dip. If they would resolve this issue I’d give this place 5 stars! This place is always busy and is a good place to hangout with friends. The picnic tables inside give a relaxed, warm and inviting feel.

The food is good. The beer is good. The atmosphere is good. The company is good. But the main reason to go here is to eat your pizza with a side of Pinthouse ranch. #addicted My recommended meal of choice(to share) would be beer mates, a pinthouse salad and the Hill Country pizza with onions and prosciutto added(or whatever your heart desires)… with ranch for dipping!(As if you didn’t already know that I would say that.) And of course drown your calories with beer or wine of your choice. I’m personally not picky — have enjoyed great sips of all kinds here. Other FYI: The place can get crowded. Parking in the attached lot can be a challenge(fortunately there’s a remote lot), sometimes you have to stalk people to steal their empty seats when they leave, and the order lines can be a little long. But all of that is because Pinthouse is a great casual place to come hangout and stay a while.

This place was great! It was packed, but the bartenders did an awesome job and the pizza was so good! Definitely recommending to friends. :)

I came in here this evening as a part of a larger group and we had a pretty good experience. The long picnic tables and big open space was perfect for our group’s meeting, and everyone was able to easily go up to the counter to order their own food and drinks. The pricing was also decent. It was at times hard to hear each other, but it definitely wasn’t as loud as some other places that I’ve been to. I actually opted for the Mixed Greens Salad, and it was huge. I added chicken to it, and was a little disappointed at the amount of chicken I received for the $ 2 up charge — there needed to be more. The chicken itself was fantastic though. I enjoyed it with the bits of cucumber, tomato, avocados and green onions that were in the mixed greens. The ranch dressing was also very good. Everyone at my table very much enjoyed their variety of pizzas, and they looked decent as well. I’ll have to come back and try the pizza some time.

Delicious pizza! For those that are lactose, come here for pizza! My friend is lactose but pint house pizza does not effect her compared to pizza hut and other places. This place is amazing! The works is delicious as wellas the pepperoni basil.

With our recent move to the North Burnet area, we were stoked to be so close to Pinthouse. Having heard for a while now that this is great spot for both pizza and craft beer, we couldn’t wait to make our first trip over. We decided to go on a thursday night for the new Austin Beer Guide release party. We showed up early and it was for sure crowded but we were able to grab a few beers and a table without much trouble. This place is one of the best in town when it comes to beer choices. They have a great number of house brews as well as great local guest taps. For snobby beer people, it is a must visit place in Austin(and they have a new South Lamar location!). We also ordered a works pizza and some beer mates(aka bread sticks) which were solid, but nothing to write home about. Definitely won’t be our go to pizza place, but when beer is the priority we will make it a frequent stop.

Beer. Pizza. Sports. These things make me very happy. And while I am disappointed in Carmela S and her 3 star review she has some valid points. Parking is an absolute nightmare here and the Beer and Food lines get very muddled although the staff does a decent job of getting you through. The pizza is top notch and probably my favorite place in North Austin, The crust is thick but its not bready if you get what I mean. Girlfriend and I agreed that this is the highlight of the pizza. The freshness of the veggies was also top notch. The only thing I was not a huge fan of was the Caesar Salad(and the queso but more on that in a second). Come on guys you can do better than that. Lettuce was crap. Dressing was minimal. Croutons were ok though. Beer. They have lots of it!!! I think they carry 5 – 6 mainstays and 4 – 5 other house beers and then over 30 guest taps. If you cannot find a beer you like here you should just go to 7 – 11 and grab some Keystone. Finally the queso… oh the queso argument that ensued turned into an endless one. I have discovered that you will fall into one of 2 camps on this one. The correct one(mine, Juan, and Kym’s) that says Why would you order queso at a pizza place? or Carmela’s who says in Austin it is unacceptable to have bad queso(only correct in Mexican/Tex-Mex establishments). The lunch special is awesome a 10in pizza and a mainstay beer for $ 11.25. Do it!!! Also I cannot wait for PHP S. Lamar to open as it is much closer to my home and will have ample parking.

Pinthouse is one of those places that I was pretty sure I was never going to go because I strongly dislike pizza, but then talks of all their delicious beer happened and I decided maybe it was time for a visit. Their beer selection is impressive, even if you forget the fact that they brew some of their own beers, too. I tried an amazing smoked pumpkin cider here and I’m now on the hunt for it because oh, my god, so delicious. I also tried Pinthouse’s Fully Adrift, which is an 11% ABVIPA. It doesn’t taste like it would be 11%, making it dangerously drinkable. I don’t even like IPAs and I enjoyed it. I also tried a Hoppy Wheat beer, which was pretty alright — it wasn’t my favorite, but any beer would have had difficulty following the previous two. We also ordered a Milan pizza that I enjoyed solely because of the olives. The rest of the ingredients were great, but the olives were the true stars of the show and the way they prepared the pizza really brought out that delicious olive flavor. In fact, I wonder if next time I can order a pizza with just cheese and olives. Oh, and maybe some oregano. As if all of that wasn’t enough, Pinthouse really earned my respect when they allowed my boyfriend to bring wings over from Billy’s. They definitely didn’t have to do that, but they were totally cool with it and I thought that was pretty solid of them. I could see myself becoming a regular here, especially to try all the other beers they have. Pinthouse, you’re pretty alright.

OMG I haven’t written a review on this place?! I’ve been here a handful of times and it’s always been an enjoyable experience. There’s pizza and beer here! Some of the beer is their own stuff too. This place works for anyone and everyone. Large group, small group, date night, friend catch up. Whatever it is you can’t go wrong here. Let’s go with a downer first. My biggest things is parking is a nightmare. HOWEVER i just recently figured out that there’s overflow parking across the street at the Assistance League and there’s some street parking too. I never bothered to drive around or notice the signs with overflow parking. Parking used to stress me out when I would go to meet friends but now that I’ve figured out the overflow and street parking I’m good to go. The place is set up community style. There’s a ton of picnic tables and you just go and find some real-estate. Sometimes you’ll have to make nice and sit with some people on either side of you depending on which of the picnic tables that you sit at. My most recent visit was a Friday night. I was meeting two of my girlfriends after work. I found a spot for the three of us at the end of some tables. Our first neighbors were two girls. One on each side. No big deal we were all comfortable and cozy. They left and then we had a group of friends join us. Still no big deal we all had our space. Then they had another couple join and they literally wedged themselves next to me I was nearly pushed off. Because I’m obnoxious sometimes I loudly said«Oh sure let me just get up and stand at the end of the table.“I moved my purse so that I would separate me and my new neighbors but it was really uncomfortable. I was on the very end and sitting in the weird spot at the where the legs were under the bench. So annoying. I digress. It’s great to be community but just be mindful and respectful of people that have already been dining there. Now all the food things — They’ve got apps and there’s pizza choices a plenty for everyone’s taste! Ale Queso with tortilla chips — I know you’re thinking«Queso at a pizza place?» It’s different from your good olé Tex-Mex restaurants. I think because they use beer to thin out and make the cheese the yummy liquid queso. This is a solid sharing app. You can also add salsa if you want too. Pizzas — I love the sauce that they use. It’s just enough and it has a little bit of a sweetness to it. The crust is so good also. It’s thin, but not to thin and the crust on the top is great. Would love to dip that is some ranch dressing or queso. It has a great crunch and chew which is always important to me. MARGHERITA — Sauce, fresh mozzarella, cherry tomatoes, and basil Great vegetarian option. Fresh ingredients. Can’t go wrong with this classic. THEARMADILLO — Olive oil, cheese, artisan sausage, poblano peppers, ricotta and cilantro I have had this as is and it’s great. I’ve also had it as a vegetarian version sub the sausage with mushrooms. I love the huge chunks of ricotta and the cilantro on this. Poblano peppers are cut in thin strips but it adds a little hit when you take a bite into it. All very subtle flavors but all together makes a delicious bite. CANNONBALL — Sauce, cheese, crumbled sausage, bacon, pepperoni, Canadian bacon. Do you love meat? This is the pizza for you. Generous portions of meat on this pizza. I love how the bacon and pepperoni get crispy when they cook it. THEWORKS — Sauce, cheese, garlic, Canadian bacon, crumbled sausage, red onions, green peppers, mushrooms, pepperoni The pizza with all the things. A little meat, a little veggie. A great balance of flavors. Really a perfect pizza. Great beers and so yummy pizzas! I really enjoy this place and it’s always a great time when I’m there.

My husband and I are truly in love with Pinthouse food and drinks. They tap their barrels on Tuesday nights, and often the good stuff is soon gone. So, my husband now regularly finds himself going to happy hour Tuesday night and filling up his growler. I don’t like beer, and even some of their stuff I can swallow. They always have a great rotating list of ciders on tap to try; loved a recent Seattle cider. Their pizza is on point, and for the price can’t be beat. Parking is tough, but you can park in the neighborhood nearby and walk.

Delicious! Pizza dough is incredible. We got pepperoni and bacon as well as the margherita pizza. Fresh ingredients and the bacon was nice and crispy! Loved every bit of it! The atmosphere is very easy going and their customer service was great. I like the picnic table style seating. Great for large groups. Recommend anyone try it out! Very family friendly, too.

Great pizza and beer! What more could you want? They have 40+ craft beers including beers brewed on-site! Ale queso? Beer mates? Soft pretzels? DELICIOUS. The Margherita pizza is one of the best I’ve had, but they have other vegetarian options, including the Green Belt, the classic cheese, and make your own options! It’s a big place with a beer garden feel! Two thumbs up!!!

I went here with some friends after work for some pizza and beer. I was very impressed! I ordered the Cannonball pizza which is basically an explosion of meat and I loved it! I also ordered Texas Honey Austin Eastcider and it went down great with my pizza. The inside of the restaurant has rows of picnic tables and seating along the sides. Depending on the time you go, a large group of people may have trouble finding seating but I’m sure you can ask others to scoot to make room. There is also a small bar to sit at if you just want to order drinks. The only downside of this place was the parking situation. During busy hours, it gets full fast! There is parking behind the place and parking a few doors down. However, the day that I was there, Fork and Taco(next door) had a towing company putting boots on people’s cars that were parked in their area which was a little ridiculous. Even the managers at Pinthouse seemed annoyed and were warning their customers. However, Pinthouse has maps put up of available parking areas inside the restaurant so I would check those before parking because it’s hard to tell from the outside. Overall, good place to go if you’re craving pizza!
