My credit card was compromised in South Austin and Queen’s Liquor allowed someone to purchase items with my credit card number and without the card present. That is not good business.

This place has been bought out since the other two reviews were made. They no longer offer the do it yourself six pack. The guy who runs this place now is really nice and helpful. Very friendly. The prices are in line with everyone elses, perhaps a tad cheaper on some items. I’m a beer guy and he now knows my favorites and makes sure they’re in stock. He has gone as far as to have his supplier stock him up with my all time favorite while everyone else in Austin had run out of it. It’s nice to know that even though the shelf may be empty, he has a stash in the back for me!

This is my new neighborhood likka stow, and I dig it. They have a «make-your-own-6-pack» section with beers from all over the world. Literally *hundreds* of varieties. Grab a recycled empty cardboard 6-pack, and fill it with singles that are priced the same as they would be in a full 6-pack. Great concept. The man that runs Queens really aims to please. Very friendly and helpful. I went in there looking for Belhaven in a draught can and he said they didn’t have it in stock, but could get it «by Wednesday».(He told me that on Monday) I went back two days later, and sure enough, the Belhaven was there. Only a little more expensive than my HEB was selling it for before they stopped carrying it, but if it’s harder to find, isn’t it worth the extra coin? Their prices on liquor can’t beat Spec’s, but hey, who can? I like to support my neighborhood businesses, so I’ll be back to Queens on a regular basis.
