Great take out food, great wine and craft beer, great desserts — eclectic picks– classic east Austin!

This spot did just the thing, hit the spot. I ordered a shrimp taco and vegan taco. I was accidentally given a fish taco, which I may not have ever ordered, but oh my, that was good! I used the extra mango pico from the fish taco and saved it for the vegan. We got a winner! When tacos come with corn tortillas, I usually make two tacos out the contents. It’s pretty amazing all round, and who doesn’t like more tacos? I’ll definitely be coming back!

Great salad and they have great beer selection for people who drink beer. Their servers are friendly and the desserts are great. It is a great spot to sit outside if it is not too cold.

This place is great to go if you have time to eat– they aren’t always the quickest. All of their coffee drinks are awesome and I can’t say enough good things about their burgers. Also their wine selection is great and my husband and I stop in often to grab locally made ice cream from their freezer. Definitely check this place out.

If Whole Foods and 7 – 11 had a child, her name would be Quickie Pickie. She has better food than 7 – 11(try the fish taco!), as well as a surprisingly large selection of beer(she must get this from Whole Foods). She sells gluten-free cookies for $ 3 each at the counter — must try: salted chocolate chunk. Very overpriced. But very delicious. Definitely a convenient and fast, albeit a bit pricey, place to stop by after work to calm the mid-afternoon munchies.

Coffee service and grab and go prepackaged items are decent. Came for lunch and the hash with chorizo was served luke warm, at best, with no chorizo. We asked for a side of chorizo and waited for over 15 minutes and it never came and no one checked in with us. Would come back for coffee only but not lunch.

The service here has improved! The have decent food(but avoid the salads in the fridge – the lettuce is usually wilted). They also have a good selection of beer on tap and an okay wine selection(east end wines– we miss you, come back!!!). Overall, great little place to have closd to our house!

I visited this place for the first time last week as we were starving but needed something quick and tasty. I ordered the pastor taco and my boyfriend got the fajita taco. The people working inside were incredibly friendly, and the beer selection inside looked pretty darn awesome for such a small space. The menu looked great and our tacos were really good. As a heads up the fajita is chicken, not steak. At least for what my boyfriend ordered. My pastor taco wasn’t the best pastor I’ve had in town, but it held its own and is inexpensive. I have to echo the sentiments about the crowd this place attracts. I could feel eyeballs bearing holes in the back of my head(or maybe my ass, I don’t know) when I walked past the few couples sitting outside and from several patrons on the inside. I get it — I don’t wear handlebar mustaches and suspenders with an ironic couldn’t-care-less attitude. I don’t care, so I don’t know why everyone else seemed to. But I couldn’t help feeling a little uncomfortable when I pull up and the voluminous chatter dies down immediately and only resumes once I’ve left.

Quickie Pickie has become my main hangout on the east side. I love the bacon breakfast tacos(queso fresco instead of cheddar makes them extra good), the coffee, the chicken salad in the prep case, beet salad, and lots of snacks. Good, consistent wifi, and outdoor seating is great now that it is cooling down. They carry Misty Morning gluten free stuff — cookies, biscotti, and bread. It’s hearty and delicious.

Food was good, but man, the service is akin to being in NYC. Me: What’s in that dish? Talking Attitude Working at Register: It says it on the menu. Me(getting my NYer on): Yes, dear, it says«vegetables and hash» — What exactly is in it? TAWAR: Blankly stares at me, then turns to her co-worker… «Do you know what’s in it?» I finally get my answer. Me(realizing attitude register girl would likely spit on my food): Thanks, but I’ll have the [pre-packaged] quiche.

Lurvvvvv Quickie Pickie! Yummy coffee, yummy food, yummy everything. Wish this had been on my radar during college because it would make a great study spot. ALSO: they make a dang good pastor taco! When I stumbled into Quickie Pickie for the first time tacos were just about the LAST thing I thought they’d be good at, but I ordered a couple anyway(duh, because tacos) and was super impressed. Can’t wait to come back and try more!

This spans several categories: convenience store, bar, and restaurant. In terms of their eat-in and bar experience: they offer a small selection of well-chosen wines(on draft), often have several fun local beers — also on draft. Many of their dishes rate three starts in taste, but their quiche is a highlight. Mostly, I like the atmosphere: their shaded veranda provides a relaxed setting to have a bite and a drink without feeling rushed. Sometimes mosquitos intrude outside so you’d better sit close to a fan. Their convenience store section offers a well-curated selection of chocolates, wines, ice cream, and food staples plus prepared-foods to-go.

This place is great for a quick grocery stop or to sit on their patio and enjoy a meal. I’ve never had anything off the lunch or dinner menu, but breakfast is always pretty solid. They also have a decent selection of wine and beer. I’m only giving 4 stars because everything you order or buy is over-priced. Otherwise, I really like quicke pickie for its selection and the convenience it offers to the eastside.

Charming Eastside eatery/grocery serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner! Lunch is from 11 – 4, and they serve mostly sandwiches and salads. Many vegetarian options — the butternut, the big chz, the purple pickle, and the shuffle! I tried the big chz — a grilled pimiento cheese sandwich — pretty good! Sandwiches come with chips! They have coffee, wine, and beer! Coffee is by Counter Culture. And they have 24 taps — and focus on local and craft beers!(I’d love to go on a Thursday — because it’s Pint Night!) They have a little fridge with things already prepared if you’re in a super hurry. Then there’s the store! Good place to grab things if you’re in a hurry! Cons? Pricey. And parking, as usual — it’s Austin after all — kind of sucks. They have a parking lot, but I was there picking up a sandwich at 2 pm. Inside wasn’t full at all, but I took the last parking spot outside. Glad I didn’t try to get a sandwich at noon!

Wow, picked up this«purple» sandwich with eggplant spread and gardinera and was pretty disappointed to see the main part of the sandwich, the eggplant spread, consisted of about 1 tablespoon worth. I guess I’m eating pickles for lunch on whit bread. Not worth it.

Usually happy with the food and service here but today was awful. Ordered a salad and two sandwiches that came out after 45 mins. The sandwiches were missing ingredients as was the salad. When we asked for the goat cheese missing from the butternut squash sandwich, the barista handed us a small cup of pimento spread and maintained it was goat cheese. To top the whole experience off, the beer and cider tasted like soap. Either service/quality here has certainly declined or the café is having a bad day. Either way I am unimpressed, feel cheated, and won’t be back. They charge way too much to have this many issues.

If you are looking for a convenient spot in the flourishing East 11th hood, this is a great spot to grab groceries, park and drink some coffee complete with free wifi, or to grab breakfast on the go. Frankly, this isn’t a sit down restaurant, but the food is good in the sense that this spot is more for socializing over coffee, working remotely, or grabbing a beer(the selection is out of this world) with friends at a local neighborhood spot. The brunch is great and you can not go wrong with what you order from that menu. The line on weekends can get a little long, but nothing too daunting. What is most endearing about Quickie Pickie is their awesome staff and the fact that they support so many local businesses here in Austin! Love this cute spot. Highly recommend it!

Convenient and surprisingly tasty. I first fell in love with the QP out of convenience. It’s a few blocks from my apartment, so I’d stop in for some wine, beer, or premade food. One fine day, my favorite taco spot was closed so I went here for some tacos and now they’re all I can taco bout. THEIRTACOSARECRAZY good. The teriyaki is probably my favorite, followed by the pastor. Breakfast tacos are also great. LALA. It’s great.

My first thought upon entering. .“whoa! It’s like Sunrise, without the bad smells and sketchy neighborhood« Beyond the similarities of draught kombucha and kickass bottled beer selection though, they’re incomparable animals. Quickie Pickie is way more Jr. Whole Foods to Sunrise’s roided-up convenience store. Awesome! *Fantastic upscale-deli menu. *Magnetically amazing dessert case. *Super taps of craft beer. Great beer-centric events. *Best chai in the history of my life ever.(ChaiS plural, I should say.. think I had 3 of them while the boys were partaking of giant rare beer tappings. Soooooo good!) *Lovely dog-friendly patio with killer music.
