To start off I don’t have super high expectations for hotel restaurants. But the service was slow and when we had service it was pretty bad. We had hoped the food would make up for it but it was an even bigger let down than the service. There were three of us and we all ordered omelets and it took about 20 mins for the food to come out and here comes problem #1. The server brought out two of the three and it took about another 10 mins for the third to come out. Problem #2, the food was deplorable. It lacked any and all flavor and was greatly disappointing, none of us could eat all of our omelet.

I ordered the blackened tilapia and couldn’t even finish it because it was SOSALTY! It tasted like they accidentally poured all the salt on my meal and then tried to cover it up because they didn’t want to make it again or something. I kid you not, and I LOVE salty food. My husbands club sandwich however was pretty good. Decent portion sizes. I couldn’t get past the salt thing though, it was just too much.

Seriously good food for a hotel restaurant. Prices are very reasonable. Burger, club sandwich, SW salad, fried pickles all very good.

I have a policy of NEVER eating in the restaurant of the hotel I’m staying in. I generally avoid restaurants in hotels period(although I’ve broken that rule a few times). Revive! is a great hotel restaurant. It’s empty and void of atmosphere as a result — but the service(shout out to Nathan) was excellent, despite what previous reviewers have said, on this random Wednesday night at 9pm, it really couldn’t have been faster! As per several other reviews, the food is very good. What can I say? I actually seriously recommend it… even if you normally avoid hotel restaurants…

Pasta sauce tasted canned, burger completely over powered by BBQ sauce, soggy onions rings. I can say that this is the quality of Denny’s but with bigger portions and two vegan options on their menu. Ambiance includes Tacky«canvas» prints of photos from local artists on peach walls with fluorescent lights and Texas themed furniture. Not worth the price. Okay service. Did I mention it’s inside of a hotel?

WEHAD A GREATEXPERIENCEHERE! after reading Unilocal reviews and telling my husband we may have to wait(had a movie to catch) but have good burgers we were happily surprised w a very attentive server. she was very warm and welcoming. we had a voucher spend $ 35 to GET $ 25.00 tip included. Ordered quail appetizers very small nuggets but very yummy, good quality bacon wrapped around. We both ordered burgers w fries or onion rings and wow they were beefy, hot and good! mine had sauteed mushrooms ANDWASCOOKEDPERFECT! Med well. the onion rings were delicious haven’t had ‘em this good in forever! Husbands fries were good too. We There was only one other couple in restaurant but i like when its quiet and romantic. Easy parking. Awesome large photos of Texas musicians must of been 100 of them! And to top it off i left my cell phone here and waitress even tried calling us to let know we left, picked up after movie and didn’t feel rushed open til 11pm. I would only go here again if had a coupon but overall i give it 5 stars especially compared to what i read on Unilocal

Overall it was good. The coffee need some work, the people were awesome, and price is horrible. It is a good place just to talk to clients or friends.

If you don’t read any further know that service is slow, the food is decent, and the prices are reasonable. Not a bad choice if you don’t want to have to leave the hotel. It took a bit for us to get a table because there was only one hostess who was also working the adjoining coffee bar. Once seated we ordered drinks and dinner. I had the stuffed chicken, which was sun dried tomatoes, spinach and goat cheese, topped with a red pepper cream sauce. The entrée was served with a choice of two sides, I chose a side salad and sauteed spinach. The chicken was good, a little dry but not bad. The salad was average and the spinach was good. Nothing note worthy but not a bad meal either. Others in our party had the chicken sandwich and battered fries, the crab cakes, and the quail bites. The chicken sandwich was standard, the battered fries were really good, the crab cakes were just o-k, and the quail bites were a small order and not meant as a meal substitute. Again, a good choice when you don’t want to leave the hotel! Good service, average food.

Had dinner here and loved the quaint, charming dining room. The menu features build your own burgers. I had one with cheddar and onions and a side of fresh fruit. The burger was delicious and the bun a bit sweet. The only downside to it was it was a bit dry. Our waitress was courteous and attentive.

So, I finally decided to use that coupon and went to Revive in the Wyndham Garden. There was a sign at the front saying wait to be seated. There was a guy behind the register. We waited while he helped other people. He then turned to us and said«2 for dinner?» We smiled and nodded yes. He replied, «Go ahead and pick any table and I’ll be out with your menus». Really? Could we not have done that 5 minutes ago — why the sign? Okay, so we picked a table and sat and waited… and waited… and waited. Still no menus. So, my girlfriend got up and went back up to the front desk. The guy said, «Oh, sorry, I forgot about you». Okay, there were 2 tables in the whole place with people sitting — and they were not even eating. We both decided on the angus ribeye steak. Her 8-ounce, me 16-ounce. She ordered hers medium well and I ordered mine medium rare. The waiter advised my girlfriend that with her 8-ounce it would be best to order it medium instead. She complied. Our steaks came out in the perfect temperatures. They were seasoned well and cooked well. The mashed potatoes with some kind of cheese tasted like something out of a box for 1.99. So overall, service was a C and the meal B+. I’m glad I had the coupon.

I work close by and was hankering a burger. Although I love P Terry’s, Frans’, Dan’s, etc. that wasn’t the type of burger I was after. I had heard from co-workers that ReVive at the Wyndham Hotel has really good burgers. I had checked out the menu online and figured they were talking a good game, time to see if they were«all hat and no cattle». Well, it is a tasty burger. I got a traditional cheeseburger, with cheddar, on a sesame bun, the normal veggies, with fries & rings. I asked for Medium-Well and got closer to Medium, but I figured that would be the case ahead of time since I actually wanted it Medium anyways. Having only been once I can’t say if that is the norm, but lots of places«under-cook» since they can always throw it back on the grill… but you can’t fix over-cooked! The burger had a very nice taste to it, everything was hot(that was supposed to be) and seemed pretty fresh. –1 star for the schmutz under the cap on the mustard bottle. Come on guys, check that stuff. Since it’s within easy walking distance from work, I’m sure I’ll go back when I’m in the mood for the sit-down burger.

We stayed at the Wyndham for a week and unfortunately, we ate at ReVive three times. Lunch and breakfast were average. My $ 10 hamburger at dinner was burned to a crisp. Skip this place if at all possible. Oh, I almost forgot… We ordered chips and queso… It was the Velveeta and Rotel recipe that is found on the side of the Velveeta box! Are you serious?

Just finished dinner at ReVive — service was fast, portions very generously sized(split plate fee chafes a bit, but I guess that’s becoming more common). My dining companion and I split a burger with grilled onions and cheese — perfectly cooked, good quality beef and a really substantial, fresh bun. The o-rings were top notch, nor greasy or crumbly at all. For dessert we had the chocolate decadence cake… you are gonna want to split it, but don’t pass it by!

OK, this is not at all the review I expected to be writing. I bought a Lunch Deal coupon, and then regretted it. Too far south. In a hotel, yet. I felt strange just driving up to the place. I’ve spent most of my time in hotels trying to figure out how to eat anything BUT the hotel food. But we had the coupon, we had to use it. When we arrived, the place was dead empty. More trepidation. And no employees to be found either. It was beginning to feel like a strange joke, with an unknown punchline. But eventually someone showed up, and gave us our selection of tables. In the meantime we enjoyed the local-music-themed décor, with guitars and giant blown-up photos of local music legends.Nice. The special tonight was grilled shrimp po-boy, which I couldn’t resist. The bf decided to try one of the much-touted burgers, and opted for the Tejano, which had jalapeño, pepper jack, and grilled onion. The waiter suggested a sourdough bun. He said the slight sweetness would compliment the burger well. After some debate we ordered the burger medium-rare(yes) and we both chose a combo of rings and fries. We waited a really long time for the food. Really long. But generally I expect that’s a good thing. Nothing pre-made. I prefer to wait and have my food cooked fresh to-order. Our waiter told us our food would be right out about three times. When it did arrive, the portions about knocked me out. PLENTY of food. My po-boy had GRILLED shrimp. As in not breaded. Awesome. It came on a baguette with a nice sauce and was pleasantly spicy. It was messy, but very good. It came with a wet slaw that had pineapple in it. Unusual, but really good. I like sweet slaw. The burger was. .. very good. Really. The meat was tender, the burger was juicy, the toppings went well, and the bun really did compliment the combination. I was very pleasantly surprised. It was a really good burger. Hm. Go figure. Finally, the fries and rings. Both excellent. Crispy-fried, good texture, nice flavor, held together nicely(I hate onion rings that fall to pieces). I asked for some bleu cheese dressing for my frings(I know, insult to injury, so sue me). That was also very good. Very bleu cheesy. Overall, our expectations were very easily exceeded. It wasn’t a hopping joint. But the food was good. It’s hard to imagine going back to such a strange spot, but I’m thinking we may do just that. Huh. Go figure.

Should I be happy or upset that I bought a gift cert off for Revive? On one hand, instead of spending $ 47 we spent $ 22… but on another, if it weren’t for I would have never tried the suckiness that is Revive. Appetizer: Fried Zucchini and Fried Portobello mushrooms. Decent, nothing memorable, but an ok start to a meal. Slightly over-fried. But it did take like 15−20mins for us to get our appt even though we were the only people in the restaurant at the time… Entrees: I got a bacon/mushroom cheeseburger(they had an entire seperate menu for just their burgers, so I had to assume there were tasty). My gf ordered the ny strip 8 oz steak. My burger was very dry, and also very salty. Crappy combination. The steak the gf got was very bland and flavorless, not to mention over-cooked. Dessert: Bread pudding, a la mode. The waitress recommended this to us, so we got it. Very blahhhh. Wish we would have gotten the choc cake instead. Service: meh, not too shabby. she was the only one doing stuff so I can give her a break. but she was slow and we were the only people there… Overall: This place sucks. Though Im glad i saved $ 25 from , i much rather have saved me $ 22 i spent on this crappy food. Not sure how the other reviewer rated this place 5 stars… my BS meter is going off

Laying in the middle of the night, a simple thought bubble pops above my head. If you could see this bubble, it would show NOTHING but the club from ReViVe! at the Wyndham Hotel. I’m not kidding you. I have considered calling for roomservice and trying to convince them that my house is WAYYYYYYYY on the SOUTTHHHHHH end of the hotel. ReViVe! is my new favorite hang out spot. Boasting q unique build your own burger menu, traditional sandwiches and even steaks and vegan food, this menu makes my mouth water. I have yet to order something from here I didnt LOVE. Your probably thinking, why go eat in a hotel if Im not staying there??? This is a locally owned and operated hotel so I’m happy to know my money stays in the community. Hotels sometimes have amazing menus that get lost in the day to day and should be recognized more often. Besides that, they have local musicians pictures and bios lining the walls, so it deserves a trip just to check out the memorabilia… I was recently introduced to their SIN nights on Sunday nights where they have half price appetizers, local musicians and cheap beers all night long. It was then that I caught wind that they have a special event on Fridays where you can drink and hang out by the pool… Single lady that I am, I think this may be my new spot. ;) There pool features an awesome cabana and chairs to lounge and sip a refreshing mojito. I really recommend you give this place a try… and if your heading that way, message me and more than likely I will meet you for a club sandwich(it has a corn tortilla chip in it and chipotle mayo that makes it pop)… or a build it yourself burger… Welcome ReViVe! to South Austin… You are definetly on your way to becoming a great South Austin hot spot.
