I was such a fan of Ruby’s until today. The curly head guy with the one hand was extremely rude and slow today. My co-workers and I usually visit Ruby’s once a week on our 30 minute break. We enjoy Ruby’s because the food taste great and you get plenty of food for the price and we are usually in and out in no time. Today he did not smile, he took 15 minutes to serve the three ladies in front of us and when I asked if he had more Coconut Shrimp cooked in the back he responded yes. When he finally served us he had an attitude and tried to stretch the coconut shrimp between 3 people and gave us less than the usual serving and when I asked for more he said he would charge me. Tuh, RIP Ruby’s, it’s been real, but I’m not going to support a business that treats me like crap. Thanks lil curly head guy, you just lost 6 customers

First off the name is deceiving. It’s more Chinese than Thai. We go to this place because it is easy and simple. There are a couple things on the menu that get, so I can’t attest to the other items. Most of the veggies are good. Their eggplant is good, but oily. We get the BBQ chicken every time. It’s pretty juicy and tasty. My kids like the noodles and the Singapore noodles. We also mainly get the steam rice but their fried rice is ok. Overall, it’s the best one of the 3 asian food stalls in the mall.

You kidding me? The food is like horrible Chinese not Thai. Everything pretty much battered, fried and coated in a sugary glaze then left to sit for hours. The mango and some-other-chicken option were indistinguishable. «Spring roll» is a spongy egg roll. And the staff was rude AF. When ordering, asked for a 3rd item and the server guy thought I was asking for extra when … Anyway, nvmd. This place blows and I’ll never be back. Plus the food court is disgusting at this mall so just leave and get real food FFS.

I must have hit this place on a bad day. Ordered the mango chicken special with green beans and fried rice. My daughter ordered the same dish with broccoli and noodles. We both were ill an hour or so later. Honestly the chicken was so tough and chewy I wondered how old it was. The fried rice was inedible and I threw it out. Glad others have not had a similar experience.

Ooos! Wrong restaurant! I did eat at an Asian restaurant yesterday, but it was Japanese, not Thai, and it was clear at the other end of town. I should look before I type, I guess. Buy Unilocal, why didja DO that? You usually suggest I write a review of a place I HAVE been to. Now, I’ve gotta to to Ruby Thai, so I’ve got something other than«this», to put«in the box». Going to the RIGHT site now… Sorry!

Ate here yesterday and their cabbage is YUMMY! So good that I got a to go container of cabbage. I also had teriyaki chicken which was also good. Had a sample of their red meat which was good too. My only thing is their food is so dry. I like my food to have juices on them so I can put some of the juice on my rice. And they sure do skimp out on the duck sauce. The little container was barely half full. Also the guy serving was pretty pushy. It’s like dude let me think on what I want and when I’m ready I will tell you for Christ’s sake! Other than that this place is OK and I do plan on returning.

To think that you could ever get good Thai food at a mall you would be mistaken. This is more like a Chinese joint. Still, I was really impressed with their food! We were about to get some ah that Sarku chicken until one of the workers handed me a sample and my tongue was transported to mango chicken heaven. The food is honestly the perfect consistency and I was really impressed with their Honey Walnut Prawns(especially for mall food). My wife and I have craved it a few times but the last time we went it wasn’t as good as the previous visits(new chef?). Then again, can you really expect mall food to be consistent? I’m open to discussing the philosophies of mall food any day.

Quick Thai food. You get your monies worth, cheap but filling plate. Their combo plates are like any other place here at the mall. Their bbq chicken and mango chicken is pretty good for the price. You can choose from rice and noodles and veggies.

My first meal since coming for a visit from Houston and my tofu craving was beginning to tug at me from inside. I was jubilant after passing by all of the food counters and not finding exactly what I wanted until my shoes did a screetch when my eye balls clung to the familiar site of tofu. The tofu was ok, it didn’t wow me and the texture was a little strange or might I say«grainy» but it was not bad at all. The noodles I ordered along side with it as well as the cabbage was pretty flavorful and held me over till I had my next meal in a range of an hour. I probably will get my food from here if I am ever in this mall, just don’t take my tofu off the menu ok Ruby?

Not bad for food court food, but very unlike the«Thai» food I am familiar with. As stated before, it’s really more like Chinese food. We stopped here one afternoon around lunchtime looking for a good vegetarian option. They offered a vegetarian fried rice as well as an Eggplant and tofu stirfry. So for $ 4.99 I got a huge mound of rice, a large helping of cabbage and said tofu and eggplant stir fry. My husband got mango chicken, green beans and rice and he was quite happy with his. Quantity was plentiful, service fast, and price was decent. Quality was pretty good for the mall. I would stop here again.

Refreshing the name just a bit to Ruby Chinese Kitchen. The same grub as the Japanese(also Chinese) place just to the right. And the Wok Chinese place that just closed a few spaces down. I laughed when I saw this place open a few months ago; but when the kiddo needs some fried rice I decided to give it a whirl. I had one of the chicken options(hot pepper I think) with rice and green beans. The boy had a side of fried rice with a couple of packets of duck sauce. The chicken was a tad on the greasy side. The green beans were decent. The rice was passable similar to any buffet destination in Austin. Little Rooster polished off his grub; so not really that bad. Your basic take on faux Thai food that is really Americanized Chinese food in a food court. For this visit it gets good marks cause the kiddo hoovered it.

good food as far as food court food goes. not really thai though. a lot closer to chinese than anything. their pad thai is a side dish? but i’m not rating the authenticity of its«thai-ness». i’m talking the food itself. they’ve got«bang bang chicken»(not a fan of that name, but whatevs), which is basically like the orange chicken from panda express. not bad. the mango chicken is the same thing. deep fried chunks of chicken breast in this really sticky mango flavored sauce. a little more flavorful than the bang bang chicken. then they’ve also got some thai bbq chicken which is dark meat, and similar to bourbon chicken at other food court places. none of these dishes are bad. not to mention this place has good turnover, so the food is fresh, rather than sitting there all day and the meat starts to shrivel up and look unrecognizable. and for around $ 5 you get a good amount of food: the meat, a side, and rice/noodles. with this as an option it makes it a little harder for me to make a beeline towards sarku. a point of entertainment is the guy that hands out the samples for these entrees… i mean this guy sells the food hard man. it’s kinda funny to listen to this guy try to convince you about how«famous» their food is. some might find this annoying, i find it amusing.
