It was fine, now thing spectacular. The goat cheese ball were good, but we had the flaming cheese and it was like a piece of tofu. I thought it was suppose to be ooey and gooey, but no, kind of hard. Everything else was just average.

Updated Review: We had dinner for 6 at Satellite on Christmas Eve and it was a fantastic experience. Once again, we asked our server for recs on appetizers, drinks and entrees, and he helped craft an outstanding meal experience for our family. The apps we tried — crab cakes, calamari, tuna tartare — were really, really good. We each tried a different entrée with various side salads, and every one was unique and tasty — we couldn’t decide who«won» the best entrée contest we joke about, because everything was so good. We sampled different cocktails and a few wines our server recommended and we were not disappointed. Then came — DESSERT! The brownie and the Sattelite Star were spectacular. Service was friendly, efficient and informative, for sure. The ladies at the front desk were friendly, calm and efficient amongst the standard holiday madness at restauants in Austin. Again, highly recommend.

Both me and my fiancée had the Thai Stir Fry. It was delicious, but half an hour later we both got diarreah. A bad one. That is the only thing we had. I don’t remember how many years has it been since I got diarreah this bad, neither her. We both went to the bathroom that morning and all was alright. It was our first meal of the day. I suggest you stay away from that dish. I will stay away from the restaurant from a while.

Went for dinner. Everything was fantastic but I’ll hold off on a 5th star until I visit again — service was a teeny bit slow — not bad but not fast. All the appetizers were great: calamari, tuna stack, croquettes. Potato soup was some of the best I’ve ever had, and the wedge salad came with bib lettuce instead of the standard iceberg which was a nice touch. The stuffed salmon was cooked perfectly but had a little too much olive in it. Stuffed chicken was also great. It was hard to decide what to order since everything on the menu looked great. I’ll be back again soon.

Food: Appetizer– Queso Blanco Trio– delicious but needed more chips! Butterflied Panko Shrimp– delicious and simple. The jalapeño cornbread was bite size, so dont expect anything too big. Cocktail sauce that came with the meal was really good, it had a kick! Service: This is my negative star. The service was very very poor. Our server was not welcoming or even minimally pleasant. He didn’t check up on us, only to refill water. We had to wave him down to order our dinner and to provide the check. I dont think he smiled at all the whole time. The food was good but the service put a damper on my overall experience. Environment: Retro modern décor. Small bar area. Has outdoor and indoor seatings. Good for kids.

Fantastic food with great specials, steak and scallops are highlights. Great bar staff and a good bar area to hang out at the weekend, has a good happy hour as well, $ 2 pints during NFL games is a great deal. Has live music regularly as well with talented performers. A great spot if you live in the circle c area and don’t want the hassle of dealing with downtown. I only wish they stayed open a bit longer!

The restaurant stunk and the tables and chairs were dirty. The waitress was nice. The menu offered a strange, small variety but everyone liked their food. When we left, we took the side exit. I have a bad leg and it was difficult to walk up the steps to the parking lot. They need to put a railing there. I won’t be back.

So last sunday my boyfriend and i decided to try this restaurant. My boyfriend had been wanting to take me here for a while and it was our first time there. So there was a wait and then we finally got seated on a long table outside by the front door. We waited for 30 minutes to get some kind of service and nothing not even a glass of water or even acknowledged us. The wait staff kept passing by us and nobody bothered to even apologize… We walked off and we will never return… what a terrible first impression.

Perfect local spot for a nice dinner! Great diverse menu with great options. Favorites are the tuna tartar appetizer and calamari. The bistro wedge salad is fresh and delicious. For dinner scallops over rice with spinach are always perfectly cooked! One of my favorite places in the neighborhood to grab a bite.

I haven’t gone back, but the manager did contact me with a very nice letter apologizing for the experience. That deserves a better rating!

Came here on a date and it was fantastic! Our server was Dalton! His description of the salmon special was spot on, definitely painted a picture that I couldn’t refuse! The wine suggestion was great too! He was very attentive and genuine. I was in the service industry for 8+ years and really appreciated the way he took care of us! I will most definitely be back again and requesting Dalton again!

Finally reviewing after a crazy weekend. We can’t shut up about our Satur-date spent at Satellite Bistro. We were pleasantly surprised by the Reverse HH that meant $ 5 beers, martinis, and discounted appetizers. The music was romantic, soulful, and intimate. Akin to Billie Holiday and Adele, my husband and I were blown away by her voice. Terence sold us on some incredible dishes and perfectly coursed them for us. Attentive but not overbearing– he was a true highlight of our evening. We had calamari, two of the salads– you have to have the sesame ginger dressing– it’s creamy gingery bliss, and we finished with Scallops and Lamb. Oh the scallops, crisped perfectly around the edges and pillow soft, like putting a hot knife in butter. The lamb… medium rare heaven over curry sweet potato purée. We finished with an Italian red wishing we had room for dessert. We have not had a night out as impressive in a very long time. Thank you Terence and everyone at Satellite!

Stopped by for lunch and it was pleasantly calm and quiet. My friend described it as classy but chill at the same time, if that makes sense. I was really impressed at the hostess opening and closing the door for us. Maybe a little too impressed because that was one of the positive impressions left on me as we left. The service is really great, our waitress was helpful and sweet. I ordered a breakfast dish of pancakes, eggs, fruit, and steamed veggies. Let me tell ya, the pancakes were the bomb. I was obsessed with them. Too bad they were mini, next time I just want a plate full of pancakes. Thats it. I also ordered a cocktail or was it a martini? Kind of a bad idea to pair with a breakfast, but I couldn’t resist this drink because of the name: Vesper. James Bond fans anyone? She was my favorite Bond girl, hehe But yea, it was very strong… It took me a while to finish it, and I was determined too since it was $ 10. The other drinks on the menu on the other hand looked very good. That aside, great service, delicious food, great selection of drinks. Check it out.

Slow service. Took about an hour to get our food and it was not even busy. Food was ok, not worth the price.

Been here numerous times and have never been disappointed. The food is tasty, pleasing to all the senses, and prepared well. I mean, it’s so easy to get scallops done wrong, and it’s never been a problem here. My wife and I often go here for«date night» and very much enjoy it. I do appreciate the fact they take reservations, and we take advantage of that. They get busy and fill up pretty quickly, so reservations are a big plus in my book.

I have eaten here twice. Each time to find the food just more tantalizing! Wow. The first time I had the scallops and soufloki. Amazing! Fresh like it came off the boat. For desert you must try the satellite star. The words… on a plate come to mind with each decadent bite. Think my hubby has competition! The second time was Friday brunch. I had the eggs benidict with the mushrooms. Oh how I adore a chef who makes real sause from scratch. You can taste the difference. The service was promt and friendly! Fine dining with out the stuffy atmosphere. Go here you wont be sorry!

The last time we were in Austin, we went here for brunch and it was truly amazing!!! I loved the Eggs El Segundo — thank you for such a wonderful brunch experience. We’re going back next week! PS: The mimosas and ritas are delicious!!! I tried adding a pic but it won’t allow me to upload?

Keepin’ this short: Giant buttermilk pancake — good, but it’s no Kerby Lane Side of Bacon — extra super greasy. Don’t get me wrong, I understand bacon is pure fat and will be greasy, but gosh, it was hardcore. Bloody Mary — yes please!!! They got this down!!! Cool atmosphere, if you make a reservation it makes life a little easier on Sunday during brunch.
