Had waited 25 minutes for a salad before I finally went to ask about it and it was sitting right there at counter where staff is supposed to pick up and deliver to table. Salad was OK, but way overpriced for what you get. They seem to be very disorganized.

It’s been five years or more since I’ve been to a Schlotzsky’s Deli. I usually prefer healthier sandwich options. The sandwiches are really filling and savory, but it’s a bit heavy for lunch. I tried the Albuquerque Turkey. It was basically slathered in their chipotle sauce which is just a code word for spicy mayonnaise, which I’m not a fan of. Although it’s definitely not my choice for a sandwich in town, the service was pretty nice. However, the server overcharged me. By the time I got home, I was too far away to turn around.

I walked throughout the rooms, the multi-patios in that mega real estate and could not find ONEPLACE that the the music wasn’t blasting. Don’t think the music was selected for the customer. So I went somewhere else for lunch.

If you need a quick, good meal on the go, then Schlotsky’s is the restaurant for you. The original sandwich is so good that I have not tried anything else.

The best sandwich chain there is. I love the new menu items including wraps and flatbreads. I eat at one of them almost weekly.

Haven’t been to a Schlotzky’s in 20 years. WTF was I thinking?

We actually lived across the street for almost a year before stepping inside of this place because with all of the great food options in Austin, it seemed crazy to go to a place like Schlotzkys. But, after getting catering through them at my work we decided to try it out, and were pleasantly surprised. It doesn’t have quite unique feel of so many other Austin places, but they do have plenty of good sandwich options and the space is shared with Cinnabon and TCBY so you can get your sweet fix before you leave. And, despite the«chain» atmosphere it turns out it’s actually from Austin after all, who knew?!

Food was satisfactory, however very poor management. It was if not one employee had a clue what there job function was. With a little better training and maybe a friendly smile there’s hope for future success.

Tried Tuscan Ciabatta today — pretty good flavor but barely lukewarm in temp. My girlfriend tried the new kale and grilled chicken salad and was surprised to find the«grilled» chicken served refrigerator cold. They were kind enough to heat it, which she said was an improvement. The kale, however, was the heavy, thick, not much flavor kind with thick, chewy stalks — not a good choice for a salad. Baby kale would be much better. The egg detracted from the flavor combo, as well. Management was very nice and offered to make her something else, so she chose the sw chicken salad as a wrap. Apparently that chicken is served cold, also, but they offered to heat it. We were again surprised that the wrap is served in a cold tortilla. When is a cold tortilla appealing? Wraps and the meat in wraps should definitely be a heated dish… except tuna salad or something similar mixed in mayo and meant to be cold. Isn’t this a heated sandwich establishment? We normally love Schlotzsky’s but we found some disappointments today.

Super rude employees. Burned pizza. Terrible experience. I walked directly to the food pick up area and asked the manager for a water cup because the food lines were extremely long & I came in with my one year old daughter who has a very short attention span. I had already ordered & received my food but forgot to ask for a cup. He gave me a nasty look, said ‘no’ & told me to go to a cashier. I ended up going back to my seat instead. My food was sitting on the table unattended getting coldER. Our pizzas were super thin, had barely any cheese(double cheese pizzas) & were almost too hard to chew. I was really bummed because I used to frequent Schlotzsky’s fairly often.

Took a parent to see a show next door at Zach Scott last night and she’d already asked for Schlotzsky’s, which is conveniently next door. There was a bit of a wait with only one register open at 5.30pm but the employees were very polite, even under pressure. There were all types eating inside, from students to office workers to the obligatory caffeinated pack of children, and the atmosphere was mid-volume interesting without being annoying. I only saw one table that needed cleaning, and it didn’t stay that way long. Ma was more impressed with her flatbread pizza than I was, but it was good. I had a Bavarian and although my lizard brain whispered«this is smaller than I imagined» when it was put on the table, it was not outrageously so. The bread was tasty and tender, and the kale had great texture and flavor to balance out all that meat. Best bang for my buck this trip? The 2.99 Jalapeño bacon mac & cheese. Oven-toasty on top and a nice mild pepper heat.

I’ll keep this one short, because it was very easy to review… One word — HORRIBLE! My gal and I went to Schlotzsky’s on Lamar for a supposed quick meal before a concert. So I says… «Hey lets check out Schlotzsky’s, i’ve never been and it should be cheap and fast» — well sadly it was anything but. I’ll admit we were greeted with a friendly staff, a little to friendly, but I says ok, that’s cool, hey it’s Austin, people are nice here. Well that niceness was a cover-up for the total lack of competency, structure, and just service. We ordered a sandwich and soup combo at 8:00pm… Our food came out at 8:25pm, and when I say food, HALFOFOURFOOD… I already brought it to the attention to the cashier, and the server, and they assured me my food would come out fast! At 8:30pm I snapped and said that’s it!!! I spoke to the manager and told him it was ridiculous to wait 35 minutes and counting for half an order, and the other half just consisted of a cinnabon and a sandwich. He was very nice and offered a full refund and still offered to bring out the food… LOL we waited another 20min of course, and he brought out the whole order, so we ended up with extra food that we just asked to be packaged. It took another 15minutes to get to-go containers and our refund. He gave us cash back from our card purchase, because something was wrong with the system. He sincerely apologized and told us the new menu was a challenge… NEWMENU??? It’s sandwich and soups? Its not ROCKETSCIENCE!!! He then offered to give us coupons and that lunch would be on him… YES… You guessed it, another 10 minutes passed with NO-SHOW, so we just left… We didn’t want MORE free food to a place that is an obvious mess, and the food was crappy. IN the end all the leftovers made for dogfood… Did I mention I have no DOG? LOL… Yeah it all went to some mut on the street. NEVERAGAIN!!! I have never been through something like this, and felt like I was in a horrible staged scene of KITCHENNIGHTMARES. The nightmare is real folks, and its called SCHLOTZKY’S!!!

Great food and excellent servi e attitude. When my order was wrong, the kitchen didn’t have to ask for permission, tey remade the item right away. And it was excellent. Sign of good management when employees afe empowered to make customers happy. Will be back.

THISISFORTHETCBY: I brake for frozen yogurt. And today it was a necessity on my way home from work. One of those ‘need sugar now’ moments. Out of cups, creeper staff, I still proceeded to self serve. Then, I get to the toppings and what a disappointment! The little cookie dough balls were melted and had become one, and the Oreos were stale. Double fail. Arrrg! I did learn something though… do not self serve your yogurt before checking out the toppings bar first!

I wish I could give Schlotzsky’s more than three stars. I remember when the Original was a mouth cramping monster full of veggies, cheese, and meat. The taste is the same, but it’s more bun than filling. It’s still good stuff, and I enjoyed their limited muffaletta. I struggle to get anything other than the original. If you could only cross breed Thundercloud with Schlotzsky’s.

I am not huge fan of Scholtzsky’s in general. I just don’t get what the big deal is. Every sandwich tastes the same. We dropped in this location because my kids begged me to take them and I caved. Again I got what ever sandwhich on sourdough. The bread didn’t taste like sourdough, it tasted like nothing special dough. EThat’s how I describe a Schlotzsky’s sandwich, nothing special. The location it’s self is HUGE. It’s a great location, super clean. The staff is nice. My kids like their nothing special sanwiches. I visit was just A-ok.

Schlotzsky’s and I go way back. I can’t remember when we first started seeing each other. We have one of those relationships where we’ve been together for years and although you can’t remember that first time you met, you know it must have made an impression on you since you have been friends for so long. Schlotzsky’s warm sourdough sandwiches are so delicious. The smoked turkey breast sandwich will live on in my heart, stomach, and taste buds for years to come. I think really it’s the buns that dough me in. The veggie sandwich isn’t anything spectacular but it’s still pretty nice. What’s been tugging on my heartstrings since we met are their kids cheese pizza meals. Yes, I know I’m taking advantage of them but at $ 4.00 with a small drink, a cookie(white chocolate macadamia makes me swoon), and a pizza which happens to be the same size as a full prize pizza, how could I not? Once I have the money to support us both, perhaps I can move on up and order one of those delectable full priced pizzas. Word round the rumor mill is that they offer discounts for students and military servicemen and woman so try giving that a shot. Love you always and forever, Jakob R.
