Service King Collision Repair of S 1st – Austin

I got rear-​ended at a red light. The person who hit me had a local insurance company who was somewhat difficult to keep in touch with.
So, I go on Unilocal and find Service King since they’re close to where I live.
Ended up getting connected with Fred, who is the manager there. He basically tells me I have nothing to worry about, that they’ll handle the dirty work in communicating with the insurance and adjuster, and told me they’d keep in touch throughout the entire process.
They go over everything with you in detail to ensure you know you aren’t getting ripped off. Most places would just take the car, work on it, and tell you later what’s going on. These guys will go over the car damage with you in person beforehand, mark what will need to be repaired, and keep in touch with you every step of the way.
I brought the car in and of course needed a rental car, but forgot it was SXSW. They are connected to an Enterprise rental service, and at the time, they had no cars. I didn’t mind searching around for one, but honestly, didn’t expect anything given SXSW was going on. They took care of that as well, checking other Enterprises in the area and having one delivered.
In the end, my car looked brand new because they even washed it.
Their work is guaranteed for the life of the car, and if there are ever any issues with the work, you’re able to go to any Service King in the country to have it fixed for free.
I’ve lived all around the country and have had plenty of repairs done on over seven cars, and nothing ever came close to this level of service.

Service King totally revived my happiness level after suffering from a busted car situation (not my fault, for the record). I had to get some body work done to the front bumper/​hood, and all the employees were very helpful and attentive! I didn’t experience any hiccups with going through insurance or getting a rental car, and the hours were nice and flexible so that I could fit the trips around my work schedule.
I gotta give credit to Geico for recommending this place! Very fast service, LOTS of real-​time updates via email/​phone, and overall a very seamless process for something nobody wants to deal with.

These guys rock. Someone hit my front bumper and shifted it enough that my hood would not latch properly but no body damage. The dealership I got it from said it was not there problem and did not fix it.
I then took it to «SERVICE KING». Although they were booked up solid, they still took the time to look at it. One shift of the front clip and my car was back to back to normal. Instead of sending me away with a hood that could pop up on the highway, they put me back on the streets as a safe driver, no charge.

Great service, good advice, great with people. Buffed some of the damage off for no charge when I got my estimate. Found them through Geico but would come back!

This was my first time having a major repair done on my car so you can imagine I was nervous and anxious simultaneously. Tainted by stories I’ve heard from those who have had less than positive experiences with car repair shops. But Service King dude. Amazing and transparent. Shout out to Bobby. This man kept in the loop. Literally texted me like a crazy ex but I loved it. When it came down to picking my car up, he clarified exactly what was wrong and how they fixed it. The car is better than before I got in the accident and I can’t be more thankful.

This shop is the bomb! I am one of those people who names their car; my Porsche Boxter’s name is Ferdinand. Fred, the manager, was on the same page as I was. He told me exactly what he was going to do and how the paint would be matched on my bumper. He even offered to buff-​out a superficial scratch on my door. It was really convenient that they have a deal with Enterprise to pick up customers who need a rental car. Fred and my insurance company got all the financial worked out so it was hassle free. They sent me texts and updated me every step in the way. When I saw Ferdinand again, he was beautiful and really to roll!

I got into a minor fender bender on a Friday and chose Service King based on a list of locations provided to me by Geico. I chose a close location with an available appointment that accommodated my schedule and dropped my car the following Monday.
Upon walking into the lobby, I was immediately acknowledged and assisted. They reviewed the damage with me, gave their personal numbers and told me that they would send me daily updates through text. They estimated that the work would be completed by the following Tuesday but told me that could change after the technicians took it apart (the front bumper and side panel was damaged). I was expecting the repairs to take longer. Anyway, I was out of there within 10 minutes. Painless.
I received updates daily just as they promised and they confirmed the completion date.
That Friday (5 days after dropping it off) I got a text reporting that they were ahead of schedule and that my car would be ready that day! When I arrived at the shop a few hours later, my car was up front waiting for me. The receptionist handed me a packet with the repair details, ran my credit car and then I was escorted out to review the work. The car was cleaned and waxed, the repairs looked fantastic and they even detailed the inside! My expectations were exceeded.
This was the most enjoyable auto repair experience I’ve ever had. Everyone was extremely friendly and accommodating, did what they said they were going to do and actually cared about making me happy which I think is rare for auto body shops.

I would give them negative stars if I could. They are incredibly *dishonest*. My car is still in the shop, so I can’t attest to the work quality just yet. I took a car to them a little over a week ago since it had been rear ended.
The car is not mine, I am merely an authorized driver. I am also in the process of moving for work related purposes. I commute to a city about 4 hours away for over half the week. I took it in, explained all of that, and told them I wanted it restored with all dealer parts. I wanted to give it back to the owner in as much of the same condition I received it in. I was adamant about the parts because it was what the original owner requested. They told me they would do that and they also talked me into signing off on permission to start the work. This way the car wouldn’t sit while I was working in another city. Since I had read all of these glowing reviews, I agreed and signed. What a mistake.
When the estimates were done, I received a text from Richie — the guy who was handling the car’s repair. I texted back that day to ask if it was receiving all Nissan parts. I did not receive a response back. I felt ok since I had text back after 6 (after work) and thought he might not respond because he was also off the clock. I called in either the next day or the day after that since I had not heard back from him.
I talked to someone else and asked them about the parts. They said that the back end was an after-​market part. (It turns out that was the only part they were replacing; the rest of the parts they were repairing. The original owner ended up taking the estimate and some pictures to another body shop who said that *those parts should have never been repaired, but replaced.*) I immediately asked to talk to Richie, who told me only the insurance company could get me the dealer part. I said that I would call the insurance there to get the part. I *had to ask for the estimate 3 times in that phone call because he did not want to give me it*. I should have known that something was wrong then. The insurance guy and I played phone tag the rest of the day. The next morning I received a text saying that painting was starting. I called Richie back and told him to stop all work until I talked to the insurance agent.
*Richie agreed to stop all work on the phone with me, but continued to work on the car while I talked to the insurance company.* I got the original owner of the car involved. We (and the insurance company) were constantly being told different things from what stage the car was in, when it would be done, what parts were going in it and why. The original owner sent a complaint email to the manager. *We went to the dealer who showed us that the dealer bumper was cheaper than the aftermarket.* The next thing we know they are lying to the insurance company that the aftermarket bumper did not fit.
We asked to move the car to another service repair shop, but Service King said that they were nearly done. When I do get the car back, I will definitely be taking it to another service company to get it checked out. *I don’t have confidence in Service King. I would not recommend their services, but recommend that you run screaming the other way.*

This place is legit. Jonathan and the rest of the guys at the Geico counter are extremely helpful and will take good care of you. Fred at Service King is the man. Took excellent care of me, has phenomenal communication and meets every expectation. Go here to get your car fixed and ask for Fred!

I was supposed to get my car back on 9/​8, which changed to 9/​9, then ⁹⁄₁₀. On ⁹⁄₁₀ I never heard from anyone to tell me that it had changed to ⁹⁄₁₁. When I did finally get my car AT LEAST $ 5 in change was missing from my cup holder.

Update: After being contacted about my STOLEN money I was offered a gift card and was told I’d be contacted in «a day or two», that was over two weeks ago. As time has gone on the paint, on the bumper that was replaced, has begun to fade and does not match the paint on the rest of my car. I’d like to think they will fix this for free but I’m not getting my hopes up.

I highly recommend this auto repair shop, they where very nice and friendly, I bought my own bulb for my headlight and i was in a hurry to get it changed and found this shop near by, they didn’t ask for any service charge maybe because it’s my first time and not from the area and i ask them if i can leave some tip and they where so humble by not asking for it… thank you so much

So much for shopping local. After an awkward situation trying to get someone to engage me, they don’t accept customer supplied parts, even if they are sealed with manufacturer logo, citing «corporate policy.»

I’m giving them three stars because they (Fred and the lady at the front desk) were very polite and because they took my car back to repair it again, at their cost. However, I believe this is something they should’ve done anyway. I should’ve taken my car to the dealer and you live and learn… So I am encouraging you to take your car to a dealer if you can! My car was hit from behind and it had already been repaired before by a different body shop from a precious collision. There was obvious issues that the previous shop did not correct (RAMS AUTO) and they told me at Service King that they were perfectionist (Ivan said this) and he would make sure that the problem was resolved one way or the other. When I got my car back, it was worse than before my wreck. It wasn’t resolved. They kept it an additional week and gave it back with repairs THIS time again, unacceptable. They said the issue was with the other body shop that had worked on it prior to them. Really? Also, my hatchback had been damaged and instead of replacing they just fixed. It still doesn’t line up properly or suction closed as it should. It’s so obvious on the right side! I’m destined to have this car forever because it’s so obvious there was body damage. I’m tired of dealing with them and obviously I have to live with it. Go to the dealer for repairs. Lesson learned!

Unable to get a call back for nearly two weeks. Unsatisfactory repairs during last visit. Don’t expect much from this shop.

The staff here will go above and beyond to make sure you have the best experience possible.
My insurance company recommended that I get a quote from Caliber collision on Ben White, which I did, but after they told me they didn’t have any available appointments until three weeks after my estimate, I looked around for shops close to where I live. I called this Service King, and the front office assistant Jaime answered and told me to bring my car in on Tuesday (I called them Friday at 2pm) to start the repairs. They initially told me it would be done in three days, but after taking the bumper off and seeing more damage, they kept it for a few more days. They did everything by the books, made sure my insurance company would pay for everything (except my deductible), and kept me in the loop with everything that was going on. Hell, they even cleaned the inside of my car, which is a big deal as I commute to San Marcos everyday and I basically live in my car. Ivan was extremely helpful in the whole process, calling me and even offering to pay for a rental when they had to keep the car for a few more days. I’m so glad I took my little car here to get fixed. They definitely have a loyal customer out of me.
