Great place. Nice area to sit and wait for order and to chill with friends when you get the food. The workers are friendly and very easy to talk to and very warm. The food itself is amazing. Lots of meat is stuffed into a albeit tiny wrap, but it was so delicious and full of flavor which I love. Very fresh. Only wish the wrap was bigger. But great service and tasty food. A solid choice for Mediterranean food! You won’t be disappointed.

Food is delicious. Beef/lamb wrap is the shiz. Maybe clean up the area around the trailer a little bit.

Brown people spicy is on point. When in Austin, I always stop by at least once.

First off, the food they have is amazing. The wraps remind me of my time out of country. I love the food. But… They list the hours at 11 – 10 on Saturday. Out of the 7 times I have gone I have only been able to acquire this deliciousness twice. I typically go on Sat. Around 4−6pm There is always a gentlemen there and says«we are closed at this location but we open in a couple of hours». I don’t understand this. I guess it’s just disappointing because the food is so good… but the erratic hour are a thorn. ** Also just to make sure I this was justified, I stopped by at 6 pm the day this review was wrote(9⁄26) …no one. Closed. Could the owner please update the hours. This is frustrating.**

Had the chicken and the beef. Both very good. Brown sauce could be a little spicier. Would definitely come back!

I stopped by around noon on a Tuesday, hoping for a reasonably healthy lunch. They weren’t very busy, but my order took over 20 minutes. My salad had way too much white sauce(ranch dressing?) and the lettuce was wilted. Tomatoes were underripe and tasteless. Canned black olives, soaked in dressing… Grrr. The plate looked tasty, but the chicken was in big chunks, not shaved, like it should be. I tasted the rice, and the flavor was good, but it was very clumpy. The pita was hard, the hummus was just okay. There was no olive oil drizzle on it. This was my first visit, and I doubt that I will be back, unfortunately.

Let me start this off by saying it was a Sunday afternoon so this place was one of the few places that was open. Major points for that. The guy in the truck looked so lonely I felt bad for the kid but he was nice and quick to the point. I ordered the wrap and it was really tasty, The spicy level indicator is hilarious and accurate. The food took a while to come out though and that’s why it’s only 4 stars. I don’t mind waiting for food but this was taking an absurd amount of time I’m not sure what happened here. The place has some tables outside that have tents, the price was fair, the hummus was fresh and tasty. Come check it out.

I love this place, it’s delish. But some of these reviews… damn, you guys. What’s it like being a living, breathing Portlandia character? «Nothing screams more mainstream than kebab, falafel, or gyro food trucks in Austin.» and«My only complaint is the quasi-racist hot sauce names on the menu(„white people spicy/brown people spicy“.) It’s 2015, let’s advance away from this as a culture, amirite? »

Great food. I tried the lamb plate with added fries with brown level spice. It was pretty great. I definitely think I can try a level above next time.

Delicious and affordable. My only complaint is the quasi-racist hot sauce names on the menu(«white people spicy/brown people spicy».) It’s 2015, let’s advance away from this as a culture, amirite? But the food is great, vegetarian/gluten-free/paleo friendly and it seems to be family run. I recommend it for a quick lunch for sure.

Beef/lamb pita wrap was amazing!!! I went with #whitepeoplespicy but I want to try #brownpeoplespicy next time. It has a lot of flavor and the free hummus with pita was delicious! !! I’m sad I just tried this for the first time now.

Nothing screams more mainstream than kebab, falafel, or gyro food trucks in Austin. The market for ethnic diversity in the form of a mobile eatery has long been tapped into, and I cannot think of much more you can do to aforementioned eateries to set them apart. Nonetheless, Shawarma Point executes its namesake well, whether in wrap, salad, or plate fashion. Plates come with rice, which provides a change-up from the typical«beef/lamb wrap to-go.» The falafel boasts solid flavor, though lacking that crispy fried texture. Atop a salad, I found the feta and tzaziki nice touches, but the canned black olives disappointed. Hits and misses alike in their offerings. On the whole, a pretty middle-of-the-pack food truck. I believe it merits your attention if you are on the hunt for the best shawarma in Austin… though we have so many variations here in town: gyros, shawarmas, kebabs, doner kebaps, when do the options end???

The beef/lamb wrap is so good I’m yet to try the chicken or falafel ones. Reason to come back!

#brownpeoplespicy . That’s the spice level I chose, I kid you not, that was the name. I got the Beef/Lamb Bowl with basmati rice and all the fixings. Wanted fries… but they ran out. Oh wells. The portion was large enough for me to be satisfied and everything was delicious! Service was great, they are such friendly people. My only tip is, this portion might not be big enough for those with bigger appetites. Great place!

Wasn’t sure if this place was good but I decided to give it a try. Got the beef/lamb wrap and it was actually pretty good. Would definitely recommend it.

I have been a fan of this shawarma joint since they open their first location in downtown. My only problem was, they were only open during nights and there are so many drunk/stupid/wreckless people around in the area that I just avoided it. Then, this happened. They opened a location on South First next to Gordoughs(which is already one of my fav places to eat). It’s a bigger trailer, better looking trailer and they have picnic tables with huge umbrellas. Wait time is usually a little longer here but the presentation compensate for it. Friendly service, quality and quantity has always been top notch with this brand. I don’t know if a week has passed by and I haven’t had a shawarma wrap from this joint. Chicken is moist, juicy and full of flavor. Although, there haven been a time when I wasn’t satisfied, but the owner was understanding and he made me a another wrap right away and the best part later that day I saw a complete refund of the entire purchase on my bank statement. I would recommend this NewYork style middle eastern cuisine to anyone and everyone.

Yeah buddy this is place to get your Shawarma on! I really enjoyed eating here. It brought back some memories when I serverd over in the Middle East during my miltiary career. I have not had Shawarma since I was last over there. It was definitely great tasting! I will agree with others the meat was not cut like they do over in the middle east. The staff was very friendly and were excited to know I knew what a Shawarma was. I definitely recommend folks to try it. White boy was pretty spicy but not to spicy hot for your taste buds. I am going to have to try the Brown Boy hot next time. Food was very tasty, very well cooked, and I felt like a VIP when ordering my food from the truck. I can honestly say the negative reviews for the place are not justified in my opinion. I look forward to coming to this truck for a shawarma in near future. I will say my four and ten year olds liked the white boy hot too. My little three year definitely thought it was too spicy for him. My wife enjoyed her shawarma too. We both got the chicken shawarma.

I ordered the Mediterranean plate with the beef/lamb and requested it «White Boy» hot. though I did want to get it «Brown» hot. I was sharing with others who cannot take that level of heat… so I declined it. (note: Brown heat comes with Habanero’s) The meat was cooked good, the rice was flavored nice, the yogurt sauce was refreshing and the overall to-go plate was nice. Next time I am in the area, I would visit the truck once more.

Only bought a coke. The one outside on display was a 1L but when I bought he gave me a small one which was only 355ml. That was misleading. Edit: Amended the problem. Will give a shot in the future.

I noticed a sign for Shawarma as I was heading home one day and I had to stop by. I tried the wrap with beef/lamb and hummus and asked for it to be fairly spicy. It was awesome! I am quite opinionated about shawarma — I feel like people tend to either make it too dry or too greasy. I thought that the meat was moist, not greasy(YUM!). I also loved the fact that they did not skimp on the veggies and were generous with the sauce and hummus. I plan on going back to try out the salad. There should be a ton of chatter about this spot — it’s fantastic. From a purely cosmetic standpoint, the logo is clever and bright(super attractive). Bonus — there are awesome, shaded tables and benches right next to the food truck. Best spot in the house.
