Sadly disappointed with the quality of work that I received. I brought a skirt to have it shortened. She didn’t take measurements and only put a pin in after I asked for it. A month went by and I had to call her to see if it was done. Came in and it wasn’t what I asked for. :-/​. Had her adjust it and and two weeks later it still wasn’t right. It’s not the length I asked for. Really frustrating that original quote was for 40 and the bill was 75 when it was done. AND it’s not the what I wanted.
I would never recommend her.
She wasn’t timely with her work.
She lost my contact information.
She didn’t alter the skirt the way that I asked and
I walked away with double the bill.

I first heard of Carol about 2 years ago when I needed some dresses taken in; I found her using these reviews.
She actually did good work and priced well; one was a bridesmaid dress and I had been prepared to pay $ 100-​$ 200 for the alterations based on my research, but Carol got it altered, and altered well, for under $ 100.
My review today is based on the jobs I just picked up today. I had 2 sweaters with holes and a summer dress that needed the straps repaired. I knew she could alter, but didn’t know how well she could repair, so I called and talked her, describing what I needed done. She assured me it would be no problem.
I dropped them off and she told me she would call the following week. 3 weeks later, when she hadn’t called, I called to ask if they were ready, and they were.
I was pretty stunned when I saw them. Loose threads hanging out, the weave on the mended holes was considerably, noticeably different from the rest of the sweater, (though I guess less noticeable than a gaping hole), and the thread she used was nowhere near the color of the sweaters. I can cut the loose threads easily, but I wonder why she left it the way it looks, sloppy and unprofessional. She didn’t charge me much, but I didn’t get much, either.

This lady was adorable. I was hesitant to go at first because it had so few reviews. I took Carol two pairs of maternity jeans to have hemmed. I called ahead to make sure I could stop in without an apt and not have to wait long. I stopped in and it took Carol about 10 minutes to pin my pants. You can tell she has been there forever… Her store is full of random dresses and fabrics. My pants were ready in a week, as promised, and her prices were fair. I was happy with her work and would definitely go again. The only reason I would give 4 stars is because she will randomly close for various reasons, so her store hours aren’t’ really very regular.

Carol was great. After calling several places looking for an alteration that could be turned around in 24 hours or less, Carol told me that she could get me what I needed in half a day. She did a great job and was very friendly.

Carol is awesome! I brought my wedding dress to her for a hem line alteration. The dress was strapless and I was having trouble keeping it up. Carol fashioned two straps with the excess silk material from the bottom of the dress. She took very precise measurements and the final product looked amazing. She really takes pride in her work and it shows! Her prices are very reasonable and she was able to get the alterations done very quickly. She is a very talented seamstress and a delightful person.

I loved Carol. She did the alterations for my bridal gown, and I’m very pleased with the results! She did it for a great price and the work was outstanding!
She’s incredibly friendly and has a great sense of humor. I’d definitely go back to her in the future if I weren’t moving to Houston. I recommend her to everyone!

Carol is an amazing seamstress. I have been using her for years– it started with some alterations for a bridesmaid dress. She pays careful attention and measures both sides of your body (often you’re not exactly symmetrical!) and focuses on making clothing accentuate the positive and distract from the negative.
I had to come up with a fancy dress for a charity function, and couldn’t find one I liked. Carol created it, without a pattern, from a sketch I drew (and I’m far from an artist!) She also knew how to adjust the design I thought I wanted so it would be more flattering to my figure. Her cost for this couture outfit was far less than what I saw in Nordie’s, Talbot’s, and other similar shops.
She made my wedding dress too– from my description of a dress I liked in a bridal boutique that would have cost several thousand dollars. Hers was under a thousand including a purse and garter! My only «fidget» was that one seam ended up slightly crooked, but because it was sewn in silk, restitching it would have left visible needleholes, so we left it as it was. No one could tell, and I forgot about it five minutes later.
With that one exception, her work is characteristically excellent, she is punctual and reasonably priced, and she always offers you a soda when you come for fittings. She’s a funky, friendly Filipina gal, kind of a grandmotherly sort, and you always feel good when she fusses over you. You can’t believe how much better things look with just a little adjustment– cheap jeans become extraordinary, off-​the-​rack suits become chic… it’s so worth it!
