When I lived here in Austin a couple years ago, I would come here all the time. I loved this place and their food. I have been back a couple times since I moved and it’s disgraceful. Today in fact, they made me a sandwich with everything I specifically asked not to be on it. Then they remade it and since time was running short, I had them make it to go. When I got back to my hotel to eat it, they made a sandwich with nothing on it. That’s right… nothing. They put toppings and that was it. How can you make a sandwich with nothing on it? I’m gonna go ahead and say their employees were high or hungover. Won’t be coming back here ever again(or even recommending it to friends like I did in the past)

Yummy sandwich spot that is in perfect proximity to the UT School of Law! After much recommendation from fellow classmates, I finally came and tried it out, and Snarf’s did not disappoint… I like that all of the sandwiches come heated(unless asked otherwise). I ordered the tuna salad and it was definitely filling enough to constitute lunch and dinner! Their prices are also reasonable for the quality and quantity. I liked how many options they had in terms of meats, so it wasn’t just the typical turkey or ham sandwich. I’m looking forward to trying their other options, like the salads and soups!

TONSOFVEGETARIANOPTIONS!!! Wow! I love this place. Sometimes it feels like I am here everyday. The staff is so friendly, and the food is awesome. They have killer game-day deals on sandwiches and beer that not many people know about. It’s like a way tastier potbellies. They have a ton of sandwich options to pick from and they always have a special seasonal sandwich! They toast all their sandwiches so the cheese gets all melty and delicious. I can’t rave about this place enough!

Evil Company! As you can see from the followup from the company, they asked me to reach back out to them so they could make it up to me. Well, that was all BS. I emailed Jill Preston, their Marketing/Public relations person 4 times over the course of two months along with their operations manager. A nice message at first, then the same message again prefaced with concern, and then finally criticism. Waiting at least 2 – 3 weeks in between each email. My emails were totally ignored all 4 times. And I had proof of delivery from my email server, so this was not just some technical«Snarfu» [nyuk, nyuk]. These people HATECUSTOMERS. Sure — they may followup here to a few reviews pretending they care, but in reality they are PUREEVIL. They further continued to waste my time in response to a review where I detailed my huge waste of time. I have never been more flabbergasted at a company’s actions.

Good food… don’t care for the smell of pot coming from the back room while we are ordering our food. Co workers not too happy either. Not the place for that kind of behavior… have a feeling the manager might have been in on that too. Keep Austin weird not trashy.

Very friendly staff! I walked in with a coupon for a free sandwich with a drink and chip purchase and they comped the whole thing! Great way to treat first time customers. Sandwich was very good as well. I’ll be returning!

There are limited dining options if you happen to spend most of your time on the northeast side of UT like myself, so Snarf’s is a much welcome addition to the relative food desert over yonder. Their sandwiches are pretty freaking good. Great bread, quality ingredients and they aren’t stingy on the quantity of meats, cheese and other toppings that go into it. This is probably why they are a little more expensive than other places, but it is well worth it. If you want to save a few bucks, get the Hooked app which will usually get you something like $ 2 off a sandwich or a free side and a drink with a sandwich or salad. That discount makes this place a pretty great deal. A 7inch sub is very, very filling. If you aren’t that hungry you can get a 5in as well(hooked discount only applies to 7 or 12 inch). The hot peppers(snarf’s special giardiniera) is a must get. They aren’t that spicy, not really. Great flavor! And they sell them separately in a jar so you can take some home. The seating inside is pretty ample, so even when they are busy which is every weekday lunch hour, you can likely still find a place to sit. If can’t find a place or want to dine al fresco, take your Snarf’s to go and walk across the street to the Law school where there is a large outdoor mostly shaded patio. You can get beer here as well, and milkshakes, and ice cream. The ladies bathroom is one of the cleanest, nicest smelling bathrooms I’ve ever been in.

Fresh and hearty sandwiches are what you will find at Snarf’s. I’ve been here twice now and had amazing food and service each time. There are a lot of options on the menu and the sandwiches are made quickly. On my seconds visit, I had the corned beef & swiss on wheat bread. It had a good portion of meat on it, no complaints here. I love that they have the option to have hot peppers on your sandwiches. Definitely would put them on every sandwich. Coming back to try the sliced brisket w/BBQ!

Snarf’s never fails me. I absolutely love their sandwiches and will keep coming back every week until I move. The sandwiches are always perfectly toasted, the ingredients are fresh, and they never mess up my orders. That last point alone is impressive. The workers are nice and helpful with questions, which is refreshing. Snarf’s also has deals on the Hooked app so definitely utilize those puppies.

I work in a hospital which, like other hospitals, has a national sandwich chain next door who’s initials are JJ. I’m sorry, but ol’ JJ has nothing on Snarfs. The sandwiches are delivered expeditiously and are infinitely better tasting. The bread holds up nicely to a dip in beef au jus and the seasoning on the pickles and veggies of the New York and provolone(my favorite) is divine. The website and app are easy to use and if I have to resort to sandwiches again(because it is sometimes a common occurrence), this is where I am ordering from.

I don’t understand why this place is rated so low. I picked up a sandwich from Snarfs today and I may never go to another sandwich shop as long as I live in Austin. The bread is thick and perfectly toasted. The toppings are delicious and add the perfect crunch. THEYDONTSKIPOUTONTHEMEAT. My sandwich was so thick and it was all meat. Absolutely delicious. Thanks for existing and being so close to me, Snarfs. I am an official groupie.

First, let me just say that the sandwiches are awesome. Think Potbelly, but with better sandwich selections. I’ve never had something here that I didn’t really enjoy. That being said, I gave a low rating due to the terrible customer service. The pleasant vs. non-pleasant employee ratio is about 1:5. I’ve been in there several times and have had someone smile at me– wait for it– one time. I go in excited to eat an awesome sandwich and leave feeling like my presence offended someone. I haven’t been back for a few months because of this reason. A quick adjustment to the staff would be extremely beneficial for Snarfs because like I said– the sandwiches are super tasty.

Stopped for a quick bite after class before a long evening. The place was quiet, and clean.(I always appreciate places where staff proactively clean in the downtime) The staff was very friendly and helpful in acclimating me to their menu. They do have some beers and wines available, for those who imbibe. Sadly, it appears they do not have fresh brewed sweet tea, only unsweet tea. perhaps I overlooked it. The food came out very quickly the staff seem to all have a good rapport with one another, and everything was delicious. I have no complaints whatsoever.

When I think of franchised sandwiches, the initial felt needs are fluffy, yet crusty bread, well-melted cheese, and a couple of deluxe ingredient options, i.e. avocado and or olive spread… etc. Snarf’s hits on these aspects, with its veggie sandwich boasting avocado and sprouts, or for the cheese lovers, a cheese sandwich adorned with mushrooms. But other than these vegetarian options atop bread, I can’t say that the quality will keep me coming back. Perhaps too many options brings up the age-old thought of «Jack of all trades” – brisket, eggplant, prime rib, etc. Sides are certainly more appealing than many other franchises, but I get the sense that, again, too many choices deplete quality – salads galore: macaroni, potato, coleslaw. Sandwiches continue fill up college students regardless of quality, fanciness, or location – quantity is what matters. In the food-desert of North Campus, Snarf’s suffices: 12» sandwiches will keep them coming back.

As a Philly girl, I am accustomed to EXCELLENT South Philadelphia artisan bread. It was almost impossible to find bread of this caliber in the Southwest. Snarf’s bread is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. IT. IS. DELICIOUS. Snarf’s Italian sandwich is AWESOME. It rivals some of the best Italian sandwiches that South Philadelphia offers. Again, it is not easy to find a sandwich of this quality in the Southwest. For me, Snarf’s Italian sandwich is a WINNER. I tried the chicken salad, and I’m hoping that they will eventually add some celery for crunch factor and maybe somehow make the chicken a bit more moist. The chicken was shredded and it tasted a bit dry to me, even though there seemed to be a lot of mayo. I tend to prefer my chicken cubed for chicken salad. Chicken salad is one of those hard foods that everyone liked prepped a different way, so others might love it where it wasn’t my fav. The BLT sandwich is another really good one. It is delicious and I highly recommend giving it a try, but the ITALIAN. MAN, that’s WHEREIT’S AT! I can’t stop thinking about it & I’m going to have to hit up Snarf’s for an Italian again soon.

Others have done a good job of describing the sandwiches and menus, plus you can go online and see what the menu options are, so I won’t elaborate further. I did have the Italian sandwich, snarf size and boy was it tasty. It comes warm on your choice of white or wheat and I chose wheat. The sandwich was wrapped tight so that when you bite into it, it’s not loosely full of stuff that wants to fly out everywhere. It’s all still there but wrapped tight like a mummy sandwich :) The ingredients and meats on this sandwich hit a home run with my taste buds and they are saying that I need to go back and try another sandwich. I will comply soon! The interior was lots of open space, music was a bit too loud for my tastes, especially when you’re trying to have a conversation with folks. Place was clean and they did a good job of incorporating some Austin look and feel into the décor. I agree with another reviewer, the prices are marginally higher than your regular chain sandwich shops but the quality and taste outweigh that cost by far. I don’t mind paying more for quality stuff and that includes food, so, yay!, I’m glas Snarf’s is here!

I toyed with the notion of cut-&-pasting Amy D’s review about this place, but that wouldn’t be fair to her or the five of you who actually read my stuff. Besides, my therapist feels these Unilocal ramblings of late have helped distract me from playing with guns. My problem with Snarf’s was not that anything disappointed me here, there just wasn’t anything that really excited me either: This is how I define«Three stars in a good way.» My $ 12.77 worth of the 7″ specialty portabello/provolone with a potato salad side & Mexican Coke was good, but next time I’d probably take it down a notch with a normal 5-incher & chips, or maybe just a salad. The bread is very good, and I kept wondering how it would fare as a Bánh mì. I was lunching with the delightful Ashley S, and her artichoke/feta sandwich was tastier than my sandwich. I thought her macaroni side was okay. And we both admired the ease of parking, the layout of the place, and its convenience to our offices. Wait a minute, let Ashley write her own damn review. Incidentally, the staff here is genuinely cool. I don’t know, six of one, half dozen of another — you want to buy a sandwich around North campus, this is definitely an option. They have a great mobile app, and you’ll probably save time calling in your order. But if you’re familiar with this area, you also know there are a lot of food choices within a square mile from here: This is how I define«Analysis paralysis.» Okay, I need to call my therapist now.

I don’t typically get excited about sandwiches, with the exception of a good banh mi, but I was impressed with Snarf’s Sandwiches. This Boulder Colorado based business has expanded to Austin TX strategically next to the UT campus. They are located in an unpresumptuous building and they did an excellent job quickly remodeling the interior. The interior has booths, 4 top tables and tall tables with bar stools. The counter is decked out in a mosaic paying tribute to UT and the Austin area. I walked in and was quickly greeted with smiling faces. The restaurant was well staffed and the employees were cheerful and upbeat. I ordered the 5 inch turkey and swiss under the novice menu with everything sans mayo. When I say everything, they add the following toppings: mayo, mustard, hot peppers, onions, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles seasoning and oil. They make the sandwiches to order and the sandwiches are served warm. I watched them busily work away making my sandwich and it did take longer than your fast food sandwich shops. BUT it is so worth the wait. I ordered a 5 inch and they clearly meant 5 inches of girth, not length. This hearty sandwich served as both my lunch and dinner it was so big. The dense chewy bread was delicious and thick enough to hold up against mayo, mustard and oil. I ordered a Pastrami to go for Jesse and while it was juicy the bread held up nicely. The sandwich was wide so although the sandwich was chock full of ingredients, they weren’t falling out of the sandwich. The sandwich had a nice kick from the seasonings, hot peppers and onions. If you save room for dessert they have a selection of Blue Bell ice cream. I spoke with the owner and it was evident he put lots of hard work and heart into opening this location. 16 hour days and three weeks of all out work and it will pay off. They have a prime location when school is back in session. Tips: They have their own parking lot. The restaurant is counter service and they call your name when your order is ready. You can place to go orders over the phone or using their app.
