Yummy pizza– but what really blew me away was the side salad. Pizza places never have good side salads haha but the one here ROCKS

I’ve had the pizza before and it was just ok, nothing special. This most recent visit I had the spaghetti and meatballs, and a caprese salad. Both were crap –I was told by the staff that the spaghetti and meatballs were«the bomb» but in reality, they just had zero flavor. The sauce was very boring and bland as were the meatballs. The meatballs tasted literally like just ground beef and breadcrumbs, extremely bland and tasteless. — The caprese salad was equally as bad or worse than the spaghetti. Thickly cut«fresh» mozzarella was ok I guess as were the pieces of basil, even though it was mostly leaves of basil and then some sliced pieces. The tomatoes were also thickly cut but of very poor quality, like they got the cheapest ones from HEB or something. The balsamic«vinaigrette» on the side was the worst part, extremely vinegary thick disgusting paste. Done giving this place a try.

Coworker and I are training down the street, came for lunch. Didn’t try the pizza or daily special but salads and cheese bread and garlic knots. both of us were happy with our selections. Staff was super nice and accommodating. Would highly recommend and plan on returning. If you are looking for table clothes and China, you might be disappointed.

Just average pizza. Still better than homeslice but only worth it if you are dying for something. Otherwise go to spartan pizza or better yet eastside pies. Buffalina if you don’t mind waiting an hour.

$ 20 for mediocre spaghetti. Think«Sbarro Italian» fast food spaghetti from the airport, but smaller, with meatballs that taste like burger king hamburgers, at 5x the price, and I waited 80 minutes for local delivery. Austin has lots of great pizza joints. This one needs to shape up or ship out.

Pizza was yummy and they were extremely helpful in delivering pizza for a party during SXSW. Last minute I had to order 24 pizzas. After calling numerous restaurants and getting no help, Southside Flying Pizza came to the rescue! Not only did they make 24 pizzas last minute but were super helpful on getting it delivered to us as soon as they could. Pizza was yummy too! Thanks again!

The pizza is good here, but their spinach salad with chicken is out of this world. It’s one of the best spinach salads in town– fresh produce and good chicken. It’s a rare pizza place where you go specifically to get a salad, but there you go. Please don’t ever change that salad, guys. It’s fantastic. Also, a low-key and comfortable place to eat, and quick take-out. It’s a relief that at least a few East Austin restaurants aren’t too hip to live.

Spinach calzone was very good, including its crust. Kind of New York style. The personal pepperoni pizza was also delicious. About five beers on tap. Staff was friendly. Seating is old school, like an old diner. Overall delicious and we will be back.

This place rocks! Great place to hang out and get a slice and a beer. It’s chill, the music is good and the pizza is spot on! Also, the staff has been super friendly. I’ve now been to this location and the one off Guadalupe and they are equally as good. This is my third time in a week if that says anything.

Ive eaten delivery from here three times with the gf since there is one near the house. Im not really sure what she orders, I just eat it. But the pizza always arrives fresh and hot and the large is defintely enough for dinner that night and lunch the next day. Can’t beat that.

This place is entirely too loud for me with the heavy metal music. The location is nice and clean and exceeded my expectations with it being on the east side. However, the pizza was meh. The slices are really big which is great, but they took so long to take a cheese pizza, build on it and get it out to me in a decent amount of time. I asked for it extra crispy and after all the time it took, it was soggy and fell apart as soon as I picked it up. I don’t think I would go back here for pizza because I feel like Austin has so many other great pizza options.

Be careful if you go to this location. The staff prefer that you call and get pizza delivered. You are not supposed to order and eat here in person in the dining hall. The staff dislike human interaction and sometimes purposefully open late to not serve the locals. Urban renewal equals poor customer service here. Do not bring anyone you LOVE to dine here in person, because you are promised the worst customer service with no management to support quality, friendly customer service. There’s a general culture of indifference to dining-in, so please order via telephone and have your food delivered. Take-out is also discouraged.(I’ve written to the owners, and they won’t reply. I understand that they live in another country and do not deal with customers either.) If you’d like to dine-in, visit the best location with the friendliest humans at 2206 South Congress Avenue, Austin, TX78704. The team is kind, attentive, and humane at the other location. The garlic knots ARE the best. Happy eating elsewhere!

South Side has by far the best pizza in Austin and just as good as Congress Streets location. They have high quality ingredients along with excellent service. An absolutely great value for such a quality product! I highly recommend trying South Side!

We wanted a good local pizza to eat before heading out to FFF Fest. We saw that they were really close, so we came. The pizza itself was good, tastes good. But the portions were SMALL! We ordered two large pizzas but they look like mediums. For $ 16-$ 19 each this is sub par to say the least!!! Little Ceaser’s pizza is way larger. I thought everything was bigger in Texas??? Then we ask if out pizza is ready after waiting 20 minutes and we get«oh, your just waiting?» WOW. There was at least 5 people behind the counter. They seemed to be into other things and since we were the only customers I feel this level of service is unacceptable. I would only come back if I had no other option or it was free.

Pizza tastes very good, a lot of options and daily special. Staff were really nice, they also have the best garlic bread in town

Terrible experience with a rubbery pizza. Pricey too. Not worth the effort at Chavez. which the Mgr says does not have the same type oven as So. Congress… Will be cautious going there if I go there again.

Went inside to check it out a couple weeks ago. Staff were super friendly, went over the menu and specials when we told them we had never been to any of thier locations before. We got the garlic knots which I was not into, but my husband and son enjoyed them(Kinda small and not super soft) Our pizza was delicious though! Tonight, we decided to order another pie for pickup — used the online ordering which was super easy. Unfortunately, when my husband picked it up, it was burnt! I gave them a call, and without even having to ask, they said they would remake the pizza for me and it would be ready in 10 minutes! The second pizza was perfect! That is excellent customer service. Well done, Southside Flying Pizza! Thanks!

Simple diner aesthetic and just what we wanted for a casual late Saturday night. Take note they have a great late night special, but you must ask for it specifically when you place the order. Sadly we did not. Tough to compete with Home Slice down the street, but the pizza is tasty. A bit greasy. The employees are clearly enthusiastic and friendly, which is important to me. A FB check in rewards you with dessert — overall decent pizza, good value with late night special and no frills, comfortable atmosphere.

Pretty chill place. Nondescript looking place, several booths, canned and fountAin drinks. I ordered the Red, White and Blue pizza to go. Pepperoni, four cheeses, and Roma tomatoes. The crust is soft, chewy, and flavorful. The pepperoni was not greasy, nor were the cheeses. The quality was excellent. I will definitely order from here again, next time the Italian beef.

Great addition to East Cesar Chavez. An old pizza diner feel that’s fun for an early dinner. The staff is nice and conversational. The model is order at the counter and then they bring it to the table. Wine and beer license is coming soon. Garlic knots are fantastic. Also checkout the buffalo pizza.
