Sparky Park

Sparky park is a Hyde park hidden gem. A quiet green space and a good spot to incorporate into your neighborhood walks.

I would give this park 5 stars… but.
A: whoever is going around writing «art» on everything ruined the beauty of the historic building at this park.
B: I seem to be the only one that picks up after my dog???
Other than that this park is really lovely. Very relaxing.

I really wanted to love this park! It wonderfully nestled away in Hyde Park and I love the artwork and sculpture.
Unfortunately, I didn’t. I came here from reading about how the dogs can run leash-​free, so I had the impression that there would be enough space for them to actually run leash-​free. I was wrong.
I would come here if you have a small dog that doesn’t run very far. Or a dog that is happy to hang out and lay by you while you read. I like to go to the park and let my wild beast of a dog run like the wind. Sadly, Sparky Park is not the venue for that kind of adventure.

This is an absolutely darling little park!
It’s a good place to come to just sit and talk, or you can bring your dogs and let them run leash free. They also have free pet waste bags!
It’s definitely worth checking out if you live near Hyde Park. :)

The Good:
: it’s a great little neighborhood park space in hyde park
: it features a neat wall that was done by local artists, embedded with colorful baubles and more
: pet-friendly…there’s a trashcan and free pet waste bags for you to clean up after your pets
: stone benches available for relaxing and sitting
The Bad:
: the building that is on the park lot is still just vacant and not yet transformed into something, anything. probably a funding issue but it would be nice to see it turn into something, like an art space or something creative
: weeds can get ugly here when maintenance is not performed on time
The Ugly:
: none
Would I go back? Yes! It’s a great little park around the corner and it serves its purpose as a mini inner neighborhood public space for you and your pets.
This place is IN.

A delightful small park perfect for kids birthday parties and for small gatherings.
Dogs are welcome to run leash free.

Drove by here recently and it’s really needing some up-​keep. I thought it was a work in progress and would only get better. Still some cool art to check out and an A for effort either way.
