If you think Las Vegas and French Nails are our cultural zenith then you’ll love it. If not, you’ll quickly see that it is tasteless and obnoxious. But that’s nothing compared to clientele. Douchbag automatons. Every one of them. Gross. On the plus side it is extremely overpriced!

I am writing this review based on a Unilocal Elite event I was invited to last minute by the awesome Kelly S. This place is really cool, I’ve been here once before for an Erykah Badu show and I like the small«underground» feel. You come in through the alley like a hobo, but after that it’s far from hobo-time. Upon walking in they had the place decked out for Lifeworks and the sponsored party(which I had no affiliation with — just a Unilocaler here). The bar was open and it was free drinks that particular night. One of the bartenders was absolutely adorable and cute, but she couldn’t mix a drink even if there were clear instructions. Unfortunately, my tequila drink tasted like complete sour mix, and the 2nd drink we ordered from her was brutally full of tequila. I guess if we would’ve mixed the first and second together they would’ve worked. The guy bartender we used the rest of the night was awesome. He knew how to make a good Jim Beam drink, and trust me: that ain’t easy. It wasn’t my liquor choice since it was an open bar AKA free booze, but the cherry Jim Beams and coke were mixed perfectly, and I hate cola usually. However, the service was EXCELLENT and I never sat waiting at the bar for a drink even though it was packed! I tipped generously for this, as I was drinking free… The couches are cool and«hip» they are red and there are several«booth» sections. Overall, we had a great time and I would definitely come back to this bar if they had drink specials or a show going on. I can’t say I’d come here otherwise because I’m more of a happy hour foodie than a drunkie. If you like Speakeasy, it’s at least worth checking out this place since it’s nearby. But, the Speakeasy rooftop view is the best.

Never even HEARD of The Kabaret Room before we walked in tonight. Asked the barkeep«Say, how long you guys been in business?» He said«since 1908.» I was thrown for the proverbial loop. I know this place hasn’t been there since before my granddaddy was born. Or has it?
