Starbucks

They have been out of cold brew 8 out of the last 10 times I’ve visited this Starbucks… I don’t get it. It never happens at any of the other locations. This is the closest location to my home and I will never try it again, it is such a waste of my time every time that I have to drive to TWO Starbucks to get what I want.

I have a confession to make: I have very little shame, most especially if food is involved somehow. I cannot understand why it is faux pas to bring food from a different restaurant into another restaurant if I am ordering the same amount of food and appreciate said food as I normally would? Thankfully, I have friends who serve as my conscience when it comes to stuff like said scenario.
Now what does that confession have to do with a review for Starbucks? My friends convinced me to chill at this Starbucks, to order a drink, and then to rethink my decision. Well, for fifteen minutes longer than their closing time, the employees at this particular Starbucks let us stay in one of their outside tables as we ate our order from a different place before going into Chi’lantro. They basically saved me from being a pariah. They also saved me from going thirsty, as their cold iced tea served as my beverage of choice while I attempted to wolf down the appetizers I ordered to go before marching into Chi’lantro to try their goodies.
So as far as customer service goes, I think they went beyond what is expected of them. You guys rock!

I went in yesterday and there were 3 employees in the store — two behind the counter and one mopping the floor. Me and my friend walked in, and not one of the three said a word to us. The manager behind the counter gave some instructions to the girl mopping (who was right next to us) and continued on her way cleaning out the pastry area. Granted, it was about 20 minutes until closing, but still — that’s 20 minutes.
I looked at some mugs, and then turned to the two employees behind the counter. They both looked at me but continued doing their duties.
I told my friend «Let’s go.» He asked why and I told him «No one even greeted us.» Something so simple. As we were walking out, the employee mopping called out to us «You’re not going to order anything?» To which I said, «No.» and left.
So sad this is my first negative experience with Starbucks.

Of late, this Starbucks hasn’t been getting my order right: most recent experience was a drive-​thru. The barista caught the wrong pastry item from going to me but not the drink. I was a few miles away when I first took a sip to find my soy latte was actually an Americano with cream. While it wasn’t bad, it wasn’t what I wanted or paid for. So I drove back and went inside to get it exchanged. I wasn’t rude about it; mistakes happen. They quickly remade my drink but with no apology and no acknowledgement of the inconsideration. That was disappointing.

I like this location because it’s clean and quiet, not super busy and it has decent parking.
If you’ve ever been to a Starbucks you know what to expect. This one is an average Starbucks, not the very best but far from the worst. You could definitely study here without being distracted. The staff is kind and attentive and will be quick with making your drink or if you prefer you could get through the drive through pretty quickly.

It’s a Starbucks, so it’d be really hard to not have your expectations met being the biggest chain ever… you should know what you’re going to get. I’m addicted to the iced coffee with cream & caramel. And it’s only 3.19. Fast, cheap, reliable. Not a 5 star experience, but a solid 3.

OMFG! I have never (well almost never) had such shitty espresso and I’ve lived in some God-​awful places like rural Wisconsin! First off, espresso wasn’t even on the menu! I had to ask how much a single shot was and the «barista» didn’t even know. The espresso tasted burnt and very, very sad. 7^th Flag on S. 1^st or Hounds tooth is a much, much, much better choice! This place sucks! Eeewwwww! I gave it two stars for the very friendly service. Stay away if you want decent coffee! Gas stations are s better choice!

Quickest drive thru coffee in town! I have blood running in my coffee stream, so I drink a ton of coffee. I’m a regular coffee kind of guy, so I expect to get it quick. I’ve recently had a child so I tend to pick up coffee on the way to places.
I have visited every drive thru coffee in town, and this one is by far the fastest. I’ve been discouraged a couple of times by a long line at the beginning, but no more. I made the mistake of walking in and ordering a quick drip thinking it would be faster, then saw the car that had pulled in behind me leaving the drive thru.
On top of the speedy service, I’ve always been greeted by a smile and nice attitude, especially from Vieve. So if you want a quick drip drive thru, this is the spot. Now they just need to make it 24 hours like the Anderson Lane one used to be.

Ordered two tall pikes coffees. One with steamed soy and the other with steamed whole milk. We sat down and waited for our coffee but after about ten minutes nothing came out. We asked the barista about our coffee and they seemed to forget about our order. When the coffees finally came out, I asked the barista which one had soy or whole milk. He immediately rolled his eyes and pointed to the cups. I don’t recommend this place and will probably not come back.

no thank you. I called to inquire about mugs and spoke to the rudest woman on the phone. She hung up on me twice and finally passed me off to someone else. Her attitude was awful. Even though they had what I needed, I went somewhere else on principle.

I hardly ever do Starbucks. But early this Thanksgiving, before the Turkey Trot, I decided to stop and get some juice and a toasted bagel. The service was great, the bagel was actually really fresh and perfectly toasted, and the juice was, well ya a bottle of store bought juice (but that’s besides the point).
The real reasons I’m writing this review is because I so eloquently left my entire wallet sitting on the chair I sat in for a couple of minutes while waiting for my bagel. For two days I frantically retraced *almost* every step before I remembered my trip to Starbucks.
SIGH. I came in and talked to the cashier, who promptly led me to the manager, who asked me a few questions and then retrieved my wallet SAFE & SOUND (all contents included). What a relief. Thank you so much!!!

Service was horrible, and not to mention once my drink was rushed out coffee was pouring out of the top! How sloppy! Looks like I’ll be sticking to local coffee shops, more expensive but I’d rather leave in a good mood!

We ordered 3 drinks & only 1 turned out correctly. When we asked for the Iced Coffee with half & half to please be remade because it was made with milk & add the sweetener in the Iced Tea, the Barista got upset & very short worth us. Unfortunately I don’t think we will be back to think store.

Service was slow and like 80%of all Starbucks the bathroom here is filthy! GROSS! What a disappointment. The staff is very nice and the rest of the place is your typical cookie cutter Starbucks.

I came here last summer for some coffee drinks for a friend and I. I was buying her an iced coffee and was going to get one myself and use my free birthday drink for it but the guy on the drive thru intercom said I needed to order something more expensive for my free drink. He was hilarious. I asked for a suggestion and he said the Caramel Ribbon Crunch Frappuccino in the largest possible size LOL. So I said let’s go for it. It was a little overly sweet for me, since I’m used to iced coffees with splenda and creamer these days but it still was tasty (and I’m sure it had a million calories but hey, it’s my birthday right?).

If you live in south Austin and frequent this place, please let me know so that I can proceed to meet up with and scowl at you with condescension. With so many fine local establishments in the area, there is absolutely no point in going here, unless you’re dead set on proving to the world you’re a big jerk dead set on homogenizing America. If you must drink a sugary coffee drink, just go to Summermoon!

Always great! Nice staff and great coffee. Always ask for items on the «secret» menu. The baristas here can make some amazing drinks. Try something different next time

Truly a neighborhood coffee shop! Friendliest staff around, they remember you and aim to please.

I just started coming here, I’m not usually functional till noon or later. Coffee helps. Everyone is super chill, friendly… until. I used the drive thru, because parking, and walking 30ft was just too much that day. The girl n*tzi with blond hair and the pixy cut either needs more coffee, or less of it. Either way I’ll be back there tomorrow. Maybe things will be better my next visit? Ojalá.

I live near maybe 5 other Starbucks but I weather drive the extra couple of miles to pick up my daily fix at the is particular location because mostly all Starbucks in Austin suck. This is the only location where everything is consistent from the customer service to the preparation of beverages. Do have to say people driving like maniacs in this small as it is parking lot need to calm the hell down. To others beware that you do not get in a fender bender.

Starbucks is starbucks, always delivers, but add a drive thru and you really have something special. The staff is also very friendly and warm. They always have samples for you to try and all of their pastries and breakfast sandwiches are fresh. It is exactly what you need when trying to get your caffeine fix!

Been getting hooked on coffee lately… I need another vice, yay! That being said, the staff here is very pleasant, quick and accurate. I’ve tried the joe at other venues and it’s just not as consistent or tasty. I’m sure I’ll be seeing the smiling faces of these Starbucks staffers a lot more over the next months.

«Do they usually open the door for you?» — me as I reach for the door which is unlocked and opens easily. I hold it open for her as I say, «After you! «
You can learn a lot about someone by what time they arrive at the coffee shop and by what drink they order. At 6:30 am on a Thursday morning 6 years ago today, this woman ordered 2 Grande Soy Lattes. I asked her if she wanted to have coffee with me. She said, «Yes, but I really need to deliver this second Latte while it is hot.»
We sat and talked about architecture and life. We became friends. She became less and less concerned with THAT OTHER FUCKING HOT LATTE. We returned to this Starbucks a gazillion times and all of the baristas knew us by our orders and our names.
«Four shots of espresso in a ‘for here’ cup» and «Grande Soy Latte» started to date. I met her kids. Those kids became teens and are in college and we have our own espresso machine now. Still go back to reminisce, though. And I always open the door for My Sweetie.
