The breakfast is decent, pretty good for the cost. The coffee was really good, made with care… The service was fairly fast, and I had a good breakfast meeting!

Terrible service!!! We ended up getting the ice cream only and it took them about 5 minutes to asked if we needed any assistance… no customers were around us whatsoever. This place is also called Thai Fresh, not Thrice. The ice creams were pretty good though. This place will not be called Thai Fresh or Thrice on your credit card statement, either!!!

Disappointing service — this evening — may 31 — 9.20 pm. First I called in they put me on hold for 15 minutes complaining that they have too many patrons and just left me there. Since I live in the neighborhood I have frequented this establishment regularly in the past. My previous experiences for the most part have been pleasant but of late they have been rude/not courteous. The food doesn’t taste as good anymore. I am posting pictures of the ‘green’ curry that I ordered this evening here if anybody has had green curry they know this is not how it is supposed to looks. The rice was stale and dry. Dissapointed. My consensus is it’s a good establishment that is resting on its ‘reputation’ from the past. And like most establishments that do that this restaurant will be no more if they don’t mend their ways! I hope the do because they have a great location and a good set of cooks with the whole cooking class thingy !

Once upon a time this was Café Caffeine. Now it seems to be another coffee place connected to Thai Fresh. I like the concept of having a restaurant on one side and a coffee place for the laptop hobos on the other side. I was looking for a place to relax in between errands and I found this place. At first there was no sign out front so I missed it. Then I looked for it again and I just parked at the Thai Fresh lot and there it was. A nice little intimate place with a wooden tables a couch set and a long table to act as a community table or for large parties working together. I ordered a green tea and I was expecting a bag of loose leaves in hot water. They decided to give me a cute little kettle and a small cup for my tea. When I sat I saw some really good pastries and a place where they serve ice cream, vegan and gluten free. On another small board was a sundae menu. I thought to myself this would be a good reason to come back here. Friendly staff and a great atmosphere for studying.

Does this place still exist? I mean, has it been gobbled up by Thai Fresh to become a thai food and coffee shop combo? I just don’t see any indication that it is known as «Thrice» anymore… Nevertheless, I like the coffee shop half of Thrice/Thai Fresh more than the thai food half. Almost all the baked goods are vegan and gluten free, so there’s that. For me, that means avoid. I like my gluten and animal products. But the drinks are good and I especially like the pots of tea. When I study, I prefer tea, and here they do tea right. The pots keep the tea warmer longer, and they have a wider variety of teas than most other places. Favorite place to sit? The large table to the left of the counter. It’s a gorgeous table with ample space for me to spread out my papers and gear.

I ordered a large Americano. 99% of places in Austin would give me two shots instead of one… cause it’s a large and that’s what you’re playing for… right? The casher rings me up and wanders over to make my Americano. After making a single shot and dumping it a large cup, she starts filling it up with water, stops and looks at me and asks«You ordered a large cup so do you just want me to fill the rest with more water?». Needless to say, it was very watered down and not very high on the«Good» scale. Disappointing. (I could have said something, sure, but it was just one of those moments that I was so amazed that I was speechless)

Working as a nomadic freelancer poses plenty of challenges. Finding good workspaces is probably the biggest hangup. Thrice has been a standout for me as a convenient, reliable place to work. Great location, great menu, and a great setup for settling in to get things done. As others have mentioned, parking can be a bit of pain, but luckily, there’s plenty of street parking nearby. Also, Thrice is very bike-able from anywhere in the 78704. Plenty of good table space inside if you need to spread out, and outlets are plentiful. Wi-fi has always been quick and reliable for me… a god-send in a neighborhood of great coffee shops with mediocre-to-awful wi-fi connections. The coffee is pretty good. Not as good as some shops in town, but better than most. Last I checked they use Casa Brasil. A small cup of French Press is $ 1.85. They also have a great loose-leaf tea selection and a personal size pot will get you several cups and can be refilled with hot water when you run out. Plus, draft beer for under $ 5! Great for long afternoons in front of the laptop. Lots of gluten-free and vegan pastries and snacks. If you come in the morning, get the curried potato & egg breakfast tacos! If you plan to stay for awhile, you can order lunch or dinner from the adjacent Thai Fresh. They have a good menu of Thai classics and everything is really tasty(albeit, a couple dollars more expensive than I’d prefer). Service can be a bit slow, so come in, get settled, and wait for the line to die down before you order.

Cozy neighborhood coffee shop with the added bonus of vegan and gluten free delicious baked goods, ice cream, and THAIFOOD. Yum. If their tom kha soup is any indication, the rest of the food must be pretty good. Friendly staff. They also have board games, mason jar lights and a wall of sriracha. Great for studying!

Happy hour for wine is a great deal! The gluten free chocolate cake is absolutely my favorite dessert in town so far. I am salivating right now… salivating. The Tom Kha soup is creamy, tart, and delicious. Pad Thai, Pad See Ew, and Yellow curry are very very good. If you are used to getting these dishes elsewhere you may need some spice or a little flavor boost but they have condiments at a ‘self serve’ table. Oh and the chicken satay sammy is yummy too with a side salad and peanut dressing. I like watching live music here with friends over a bottle of wine and good food on the kitchen side. On the coffee shop side you may need a radiation suit to block all the computers(mainly haunting glowing white apples with bites out of them). I prefer the take one leave one book shelf, food, and a thai tea that disappears all too fast. PS– parking sucks but if you park up the road it’s a nice neighborhood for a stroll.

Gluten and Dairy free people no longer have to stare into the baked goods or ice cream display just just hoping that one item meets their dietary restrictions.(Those of you that live this life know what I mean). At Thrice, you can pretty much have anything, and it is all good. My friends that don’t care whether they eat a wheat based product don’t even have a clue that Thrice has managed to pull gluten out of their desserts. Everyone I bring to this place enjoys the desserts. They also serve beer, cider, and coffee. The downfalls include a lengthy line on occasions since this is also the ordering spot for Thai Fresh and parking can be a challenge on a busy day.

This place seemed pretty«meh» to me– I went to study and have something to eat on a Saturday. I had a 3 $ small Toddy coffee that seemed watered down and a toasted bagel with cream cheese(a very small container which didn’t come with a knife). I didn’t necessarily want to order either of these items but the prices were more than I was willing to pay for other items. Maybe I’m cheap but seeing as I’m not in the Gluten-Free or Vegan market I’m not willing to pay 5 $ for a piece of coffee cake. Points for nice service and the book exchange they have. Ambience is fine but because it’s attached to the Thai restaurant there are a lot of mixed smells and noises. I would recommend this place to GF/Vegan people but for someone looking for a simple breakfast and study place it’s not the right place. I’m willing to try it again when I’m craving Thai or have a heartier appetite.

As a lactose-intolerant person, this is THE place for me to get my ice-cream fix. Practically everything is vegan and/or gluten-free, so super veg-head friendly. Every time I’ve gone, they’ve seemed to only have one, maaaaabye two, employees, so service isn’t super speedy. There’s also maybe three and a half parking spaces for everyone to share, so heads-up on that one. Despite those two negatives, the delicious desserts and coffee are well worth it. I always make a point to suggest this place to any vegan friends in town and enjoy using it as a weekend pick-me-up.

The parking situation can be terrible but I won’t even remove a star because this place is so lovely with it’s cute little mason jar lights, Darth Vader mask hiding in the corner, and the Thai iced coffee is so good! I find myself craving it, sometimes driving from the campus area to get one. I haven’t tried many of the gluten free pastries other than a chocolate chip cookie(good for being vegan, GF, but I’m not either so if I’m going to eat a chocolate chip cookie it wouldn’t be that one again). I’m confused as to why they don’t just call the whole thing Thai Fresh because you order your meal at the Thrice counter… and everything I’ve tried from Thai Fresh is phenomenal by the way! Great place for studying or sharing a coffee/meal with friends!

So happy I live near this place. They serve a wide range of vegan ice cream(coconut milk style) and lots of other yum goodies. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly, plus they have outdoor seating. If you’re looking for gluten free baked goods, they’ve got them too. Tonight my partner and I had the dark chocolate, thai tea, and peanut butter with cookie dough ice creams. Pretty much our cravings were everything where, and the ice creams were legit. This place is worth checking out. They have wine and beer too!

Casual, south Austin coffee place. I’ve been hear on a couple of Sunday mornings. The service was slow, but on a Sunday morning that wasn’t a problem. Maybe there are more staff during the week. I had drip coffee and a pastry. The drip coffee was French pressed, and it was really good. I liked my pastry too. The last time it was some kind of gluten-free, sweet potato and chocolate chip coffee cake. There weren’t a lot of parking spots, but my buddy and I used the bike rack anyway so it didn’t matter.

I’ve been going to thrice about once a week for the past month or so. During this time I found the following — Unless you go during non-peak times, parking is a pain. Due to the lack of parking, I’ve actually driven away to go somewhere else since I’m just looking to get my coffee and leave — Though I found your staff always very friendly they are grossly understaffed. You need to hire more people. Having one person take orders, clean, and make coffee is unacceptable. You need to have a barista and a cashier during peak times. –I find the majority of their food to be over priced for the quality type. Everything just seems to be a dollar too much and makes you noticed. Their espresso and coffee are the only thing on par with the area in terms of price. — One great thing about this place is that I’ve found the espresso drinks(tried latte’s, mochas, and straight espresso) are all consistently poured. This is a hard thing to find and is one of the key reasons for the 4 star rating. –You need more outlets for computer usage. More outlets = more people hanging out there = more money . Overall I’m giving it 4 stars as the coffee/service(for what they have to work with) is good, though I recommend staying away from the food since it’s overpriced.

Lots of vegan baked goods but everyone I’ve ever interacted with here appears miserable. At both the coffee shop and the Thai place. I’ve never seen one employee even smile. Ever. Happy hour deals with baked goods and tea.

The customer service here has really dropped off in the past year. I always get the feeling from the baristas that there are one million things they’d rather be doing than making my(extremely easy) drink order and getting my gluten free sweet potato whoopie pie out of the fridge. I don’t like to frequent places where I’m treated like a bother, so I don’t think I’ll be spending much time here in the future, though it’s nice to know there’s a place nearby where I can get a good GF cookie without paying an arm and a leg.

There are times in life that I think I nitpick too much for my own good. In my defense, my profession _does_rely on a high level of attention to detail and a compulsion to be annoyingly consistent, so I suppose it makes sense. And that’s probably why I’m sometimes annoyed with my experience at Thrice: my enjoyment of my Filthy Chai(with Almond milk) depends on the barista. Call me old fashioned, but I feel like I should be able to go to a coffee shop and enjoy the same drink made from different baristas. But hey, I’ve never actually worked in a coffee shop, so what do I know? Now, don’t let that slightly negative start to this review get me wrong: I’m a big fan of Thrice. It’s my neighborhood coffee shop(for the next 2 weeks), and I think the pros far out number the cons. Pros: delicious baked goods, delicious Chai, great coffee, yummy breakfast tacos(I recommend the Thai Omelet taco). They also have a lot of tables and free Wifi, so it’s a great place to get some work done. On top of all that, one of the baristas(haven’t caught her name yet) knows my order, and I can just say«the usual.» This makes me happy. She’s also very consistent with her Filthy Chai making skills, so I only go in now when I know she’s working. They also have Rockstar bagels, which I finally discovered are delicious(right before I cut out most carbs from my diet… sad panda.) Cons: inconsistency between baristas, doesn’t open until 8 a.m. See, look at that lopsided pros list! Do yourself a favor: pop in on a weekend and enjoy some of their delicious coffee, their scrumptious vegan zucchini bread, or a Curried Potato breakfast taco. You won’t regret it!

This is one of my favorite coffee shops! And not just because it’s right around the corner from my work. The staff is friendly, the vibe is great, and the drinks are delicious. They have sandwiches, tacos, and a variety of other snacks that change from time to time(depending on what they have in). Parking is limited, but you can park on the street if spots aren’t available in the lot. The last perk… 9 times out of 10 I see Leslie here. Who doesn’t want to drink coffee with a view of an old(wo)man in a thong?
