Let me start by saying this is my 2nd post in my life. I hate wasting my time even if service is bad, that being said… Possibly worst customer service I have ever experienced! I was going to just make a quick stop to pick up some Ginger Ale and Tuaca, we’ll I grabbed the Tuaca and checked out. When I got to my car I realized I forgot the ginger ale so I went back in to purchase it. Walked in with the clerk staring at me(which I understand) so said ‘completely forgot the ginger ale’ he responded with«why didn’t you get it when you checked out?» in an almost pissed off manner. Then asked if I had cash because he wasn’t going to ring me up again with debit. At which point I almost turned around and left, but let it slide. So checking out rang up the total 6.46 if memory serves. Well, I gave him the 7 dollars then dug for change, as it happened on this rare occasion I had exactly 46 cents. So I tried to hand it to him but he said he had already rung it up and wasn’t doing math. So I said«that’s the change so I can just get a dollar back instead». At which point he dropped the change in my hand and said, «now that’s called a transaction» in such a degrading voice I about lost it. Needless to say will never return. Despite it being on my way home, I’ll gladly do a slight detour. As I’m sure anyone that doesn’t heed my advice will surely do anyway.

I forgot to punch in the check in earlier so I am playing catch up. This is an update from my previous review. Absolutely no problems this time, everyone was friendly. You may pay a dollar or two more than the chains, but I like buying local and with small businesses. This is one of those. Going back before the weekend to get something special.

Best place in Austin. Linda is charm and very helpful. Love this place. When you go in look for Linda and tell her what type alcohol you are looking for. She knows the makers and quality of each and will lead you to the right product.

Definitely a neighborhood favorite that I have to patronize more regularly rather than going to the bargain stores. This place is run by a terrific lady who is extremely knowledgeable about her liquor! Today, she had me taste the most amazing tequila on the planet. Maestro Dobel. These bottles are personally labeled by bottle number, tequila maker and grove the blue agave came from. I don’t normally drink anything straight, but this went down so smooth and warm and I just could not leave that store without my own bottle. I had to rush out because I explained that I had my dog in the car,(running with the A/C on, of course — I just didn’t want anyone to steal my dog and car). She said that next time I needed to bring the pup in to visit! A dog-friendly liquor store? Oh my, these folks will get my business forever.

We don’t frequent the liquor store, but needed some cognac and Grand Marnier. We are excited to try a tenderloin recipe using cognac, and Steve’s is just down the street from our home. As we entered this small shop(with our usually dazed look of confusion), we were greeted by Linda who made us feel welcome, helped us find what we needed, and encouraged us to attend upcoming wine tasting. Thanks, Linda!
