Ahhhh! I just bought a blouse that I lusted after for two months(priced at $ 59) on SALE for twenty bucks! Can I get a Hallelujah?! To make things even sweeter, I’ve gotten 3 compliments on it in the two hours I’ve been wearing it. Yeah, I put it on in my car to finish my errands. So WHAT? hehe Only tiff was the shop keeper kinda gave me a nasty once-over:(I DID walk into a super cute boutique in my chef-wear, so sue me, I couldn’t wait to get over there before they closed. Would’ve liked a little more kindness and maybe not as many side glances while I browsed the goodies in my clogs. Still recommend though!

I would give them five starts if I could actually make a purchase online. The online store front has been a disappointment at best all three times I’ve tried to use it. I didn’t get the dresses I wanted and then, lo… they’re sold out after refresh after refresh. They’re communication is great regarding these issues, but I still didn’t have access to the dresses that caught my eye(ones that marketed to me on e-mail campaigns). To their credit I would not be droning on about the dress that never was if they didn’t have really cool stuff… so that should say something. They’re products are cool and the store deserves some credit but I can’t be completely unbiased towards the store itself because of my multiple online shopping mishaps. The store itself sadly doesn’t carry many of the items displayed on the online store. The sales associates were friendly but none of them offered a hand or offered to help direct me to where I may locate the items I was dead set on obtaining in the first place, neither sales lady even asked. Just so I’m not too harsh I did find some cute pieces that I took home with me but I found them w/o even being approached by a sales associate once – I adore the pieces but, why I am truly upset is that I didn’t get the garments I had sought after in the first place, dresses that were marketed to me. I just wish the staff would have let me know that I could have called the distribution center for the other items – I finally figured that out but it was too late. So if you are coming to Austin just to shop and plan to do your browsing online don’t do it for STRUT. It’s like a box of chocolates you never know – if you’ll find just exactly what you were looking for, online or in the store.

FYI: So it’s no longer Caroline’s(same owner) and it’s now functioning more as a Strut front room. I am going to write a very detailed review of this store because I think it really deserves it. First of all, I love supporting small businesses when I can. Unfortunately, retail boutiques tend to be pricier and I usually end up going to Forever21 or Urban Outfitters. Not that I’m hating on those two stores, I am a frequent shopper there and I will continue to buy their S***. I’m beginning to dislike the McDonaldization of fashion. Okay, enough of my soapbox. The store is small and cozy and I like that everything is organized and neat. I feel like the racks are also separated according to a specific style/genre. I.E. boho/Miami-chic/Euro/NYC-hip. It makes browsing through the store easier. If you like clothes from Foreign Exchange, this is the place to get dresses that are not your traditional«American» fashion. I mean«American» in terms of West Coast casual and not the RL or TH sportswear or prep. Everyone knows no one makes sportswear better than american designers. Their buyer does a good job picking clothes that can be layered and dressed up and down depending on shoes/accessories. The material is good too. It will hold up and the sewing seems pretty sturdy from what I can tell. PRICE!!! Dresses range from 39 – 49 and I find this to be very reasonable for the small labels they are carrying. Forever21 and UO also sell dresses for those prices. but b/c their clothes are so ubiquitous it loses the cool factor. Today I bought two dresses, shoes, and a necklace. It was a pretty big purchase but the store clerk(Elisha/Alisha?) was so AWESOME that she gave me a discount so that I can make my budget! WHODOESTHAT!!! Just for that, I am going to come back and support them again. It’s called Customer LOYALTY, bitches! Please check them out! If you are fashion whore like me, you’ll like their Euro-hipster clothes ala Sartorialist

I went to Caroline’s today, because of the review of the woman before me. Thanks, by the way… They are having a big sale right now where EVERYTHING in the store is 40% off! I have to agree the clothes are comparable to those at Anthropologie in looks, but pricewise they are MUCHBETTER. I got a really cute top and a scarf today for under 25 dollars. I’m so happy. The sales woman was also very sweet, putting up with me trying everything on in the store so I could figure out which item I wanted to take home with me. She also brought me a water bottle :). Very sweet. I definately like this place and plan on returning again… possibly soon while the sale is still going on… Hmmm… only possible negative about this place is the parking lot. I only saw 2 possible places to park. I actually parked down the street cause I had no idea there was even a parking space, so I can’t be completely positive about it.

I had seen this cute little boutique while eating at Kerbey Lane Café. I got some cute bracelets for $ 12 and they had a ton of really cute jewelry $ 38 and under. Some cute tank taps at $ 19 in great colors too. My only complaint would be no customer service. There is an entire back room– no one monitoring it– sounds like a bad idea for shoplifting. The sale girl was friendly once I talked to her other wise she was on the computer or in the office/hidden room while I was shopping. I will go back to shop soon.
