Met studio 563 Austin at the Bridal Extravaganza in Austin. My mom was impressed with their work and we’d heard good things about them. Their books of photos looked good so we went with them for our wedding. One thing they boasted about was their creativity, which for me was important.
Prior to the wedding there was little to no contact between myself (bride) and photographers. I did fill out a form of who needed to be in pictures etc. Day of the wedding comes and the photographer forgot the list, but says she remembers. That should have been a red flag to us, but we went with it.
About 6 weeks later we get the pictures. Honestly, I was so angry when I saw the shots. Not only was there 0 creativity in the shots, there were maybe 10 posed shots of my husband and I after the ceremony. Are you kidding me? Besides that I didn’t like the few I had to chose from. Who takes so few shots of the bride and groom? I can count on my hand how many there were of me alone, which sucked b/​c I didn’t do portraits and my parents really wanted a nice shot of me. That didn’t happen.
The posed shots of family were disorganized. No «cute» shots of me and my nephews or my husband and I. We got married last Fathers Day and I had put so much time into a special photo table of our fathers and grandfathers. There wasn’t one picture of my beautiful Fathers Day table. Not to worry there were tons of useless pictures of people dancing! Seriously, who needs all those pictures of people dancing? No one! There were maybe 2 pics of my girlfriends and I and they were both awful. I guess photographers don’t look to make sure everyone is looking at the camera? Really– you have digital, it’s not that hard.
They sent me pics with random staff of the venue in them. You don’t crop? There are pictures of the groomsmen getting dressed– do you think I want to order those? I haven’t even ordered my album b/​c I’m so disappointed in my pictures. It’s such an awful feeling to not be happy with your wedding day pictures because I can’t get that day back! I’ve had friends in the last year get married and every time I see their amazing, creative, bright, and beautiful pics I get even more mad about how unhappy I am with mine.
I complained to them and explained my issues. While they apologized and acknowledged the errors on their part, nothing was done. They sent me a mock up album, which looks like it was made by me on shutterfly. I’m sorry, why did we pay you all that money for a crappy album I can make myself with the CD you sent me?
I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone. I have seen so many great photographers in Austin. There are way better out there. Keep looking!

If I was writing a review solely based on our photographers Jenn and Julio I’d have given 5 stars no question! They were amazing! My husband and I were so pleased with them and numerous guests even commented on how fantastic they were. My bad feelings stem from the treatment we have received since our wedding this past November. I began to check in on the progress of our photographs around 5 weeks post wedding. Responses were not immediate but still relatively timely. I was informed on ¹²⁄₁₉ that our pictures would be out of editing and ready «any day now». I expected that if I did not receive them by the morning of Christmas Eve I wouldn’t see them until after New Years because of the holidays, that is exactly what happened. On December 30 th I wrote another email to inquire about the status of our photos and since have written another and my husband has called twice and left messages with absolutely no response to either of us. As disappointing as it is to not have our wedding pictures yet it is even more disappointing that a company we gave thousands of dollars to has this sort of «business practice». When dealing with people and especially I feel in an industry that is so emotionally driven it is only fair to ask that a company that accepts payment for services rendered to be on top of updates and responses. It saddens me because we had such an amazing experience with our photographers however, I would not recommend this company to anyone looking for a wedding photographer.

We searched for a few months for the perfect photographer, and thought we had found that in Studio563 Houston. Our initial meeting with Craig (the main photographer) went great, and we were very happy with the outcome of our engagement photos. Unfortunately, things went downhill after that.
Throughout the wedding day and night, I had the nagging feeling that the photographers (Craig and his assistant) were not capturing the pictures that we really wanted. To be more specific, we wanted pictures with our friends and family who were there, not just candids of people dancing and standing around. At one point I grabbed the second photographer and had him walk with me to take pictures with various family members and friends just to make sure we had them.
Two and a half months later, we received the proofs, and were confused to see that many pictures we remembered taking were not included. When we inquired, Craig admitted that the second photographer had lost one of his cards, which we believe contained the majority of the photos he took that night. While disappointing, we recognize that mistakes happen, and were willing to work with Craig to discuss options for rectifying the situation. Unfortunately, Craig became unresponsive for weeks at a time, which added unneeded stress to the situation. He finally agreed to refund a very small portion of the money we had paid for the event coverage, but made sure we knew he «stood by the quality of the work.» The refund arrived about 9 months after the wedding, and only after asking for it many times over without response. The saddest part was the pictures we did have were underwhelming at best, and I haven’t looked back at them since we received them. I have NO pictures with my brothers, mother, father, maid and matron of honor, etc., beyond the stuffy formals we took in the church.
My brother got married this spring, and we used a family member to take pictures instead. They turned out great and everyone was happy. Too bad we didn’t do this for our own wedding!

Me and a couple of friends stopped in here when they were featuring a sweater designer and dress designer. They were so nice and we had fun hanging out. They had some really good appetizers and a variety of drinks.
I’ve never used their photography services, but when I was there, they were showing some of their photos and they looked good.

After looking through every possible option for photographers 2 years ago for our wedding, we chose Studio563. We had great service and ended up with great photographs depicting the day of our wedding. Our entire family loved the photos and we will definitely use them again for the important events in our lives.

I was very disappointed by the responsiveness and professionalism of 563. I have several friends that used 563 as their wedding photographer and they all gave great feedback. I was pretty much set on 563 so I emailed to setup an appointment and get additional information. Nine days later I received a response asking what days work best for me. I was off work a few days that week and let them know what times worked for me. After another nine days I get a response, only after one of my friends that had previously used them inquired about the delay. I was assured this wasn’t typical and they scheduled me for a Thursday afternoon.
So I took some additional time off work because I’d already used my other days wedding planning and waiting for a response from 563. When we arrived the office manager had not told the photographer we were coming and he asked if we had an appointment; obviously not ready to meet a potential client. At this point I was very put off but still wanted to discuss working with them since my friends had given such good feedback. He let me know they were getting additional help and my experience up to this point was not consistent with their typical level of service. After our meeting he was going to have the office manager send me a package similar to my friends after he pulled up their file. I left expecting an email with pricing and contract info.
Once again I got no response but this time I didn’t follow-​up. I am not sure what the issue was but a customer should not have to follow-​up multiple times to get a response. I have since found a new photographer that has been very responsive and professional. Coincidentally she had been the photographer at yet another friend’s wedding and she has met the positive expectations set by my friend’s reviews.
