I was looking for a place to get a simple lunch for a moderate price and God sent me Tangent café. Tucked away in an unassuming office building, Tangent café is the perfect stop for the working person who wants to grab a healthy, delicious lunch for a moderate price. I highly recommend the homemade soups and tilapia sandwich. The lady at the counter is super sweet too!

I LOVE that this café is at our office complex. Their breakfast is wonderful and has saved me many times on the days I was running behind while getting ready for work. I am a huge fan of all of their soups, which are home made. I have never ordered something there that I didn’t like. Even their garden salad is AMAZING. Michael makes things to order, so if you’re ordering anything with grilled chicken, give yourself time for it to cook… or you can call ahead and order. The couple that works there are so nice and accommodating. I have never received anything but great service and meals from Tangent Café!

This is a great little mom and pop run place that provides a quick easy place for lunch when you don’t feel like driving somewhere to eat. They have daily specials that are pretty good. This defiantly isn’t worthy of traveling to eat but for the office complex its great

If you’re in the area: it’s a great spot. Perhaps I misunderstood other reviews: it’s not so great you should drive out of your way for, but I imagine for folks in the in the office center it’s nestled into it’s a godsend.

This is a little café in the office building where I work. The food is ok, it’s not amazing, it’s ok… which is kind of what you expect from a little café in an office building. The problem is the guy in the kitchen is beyond rude. Not sure what his deal is but he is not friendly at all.

The food is average, mostly, though there are a few standouts; the burgers are quite tasty, the soups are always homemade(from scratch), and I’m rather a fan of their Shepard’s Pie. The prices are reasonable, and the service always with a smile. It’s not gourmet food, but it’s fresh and tasty.

I am very grateful to have such a good café option at my new office. I don’t go there that often and that may be part of the reason I like it so much, you know familiarity breeds contempt and all. Things I love: –the foods are all«whole foods» and not that they went and bought food from Whole Foods, but like, the vegetables are obviously fresh and freshly prepared everyday –the meats are the same way: you can tell the chicken as one point was a real chicken and it tastes like it was freshly purchased and not a Cisco frozen bird that was packaged a year ago and sat defrosting overnight –the daily specials: I think these are on a two week rotation maybe but I look forward to checking out what they have going on — if the daily special doesn’t do it for me, they have a pretty extensive regular menu that includes soups, salads, sandwiches, and burgers. I had the chicken parmigiana the other day and totally blew ones that I have had at more upscale restaurants out of the water. –everything has a real homey type taste to it, like how Hyde Park Bar and Grill wished it could be As others have said, some menu items take longer to receive, but it is because they make lots of the foods to order. And I have heard some people complain about the atmosphere. It’s a café in an office building, what are you really expecting? They have metal silverware and real plates, that seems pretty nice to me. And the view is of that famous hill country brush everyone loves so much.

Great lunch options within walking distance of most of the work buildings on River Place. I recommend the salads and the mushroom soup(really good).

Forgot my lunch the other day and swung by to grab a sandwich. it’s a cute little mom&pop kinda place, with a surprisingly large menu. My avocado chicken caesar wrap was totally delicious, very fresh, and reasonably priced. The only real downside was that it was *slow*. That said, I’m pretty sure the guy cooked my chicken to order. Also, as I was waiting for my order, they took cookies out of the oven. I resisted temptation. This time…

I work in this office complex, and while I usually bring my own lunch this is great place for when I forget. The food is always delicious and very reasonably priced. If I didn’t work nearby, but was in the neighborhood I’d still stop in. (It’s only open til 3:30, however. Don’t make dinner plans.)

Went on one of my rare ‘forgot to bring my lunch’ visits again today. Chose a special again, a Chilli this time and it was absolutely fabulous. Such a simple dish might not seem worth writing about to some but personally I think food is at it’s best when it is of the basic comfort type. Good, well prepared food shows through in this form which is why I order the most basic things when I try a new place and everyone can relate to it. Probably would have appreciated a little more on the side, perhaps a flour tortilla or something but it was pretty good without and I don’t know what they did with the corn but it was very different, in a good way.
