DELISH! The green sauce is my favorite hot sauce here. so spicy and yet so good. The fajitas are amazing and the beans taste so good. The refried beans do have pork in them, but if that doesnt bother you, then get them. The food is so fresh and they use white meat for everything. In the mornings they have yogurt parfaits, granola and fresh fruit for those that don’t want a breakfast taco. You can get your tacos on corn if you want and they make their flour tortillas from scratch. Normally my ticket with my family is about $ 25.00(3 people). that includes three entrees and a tea. The customer service has been good and they haven’t messed up my food yet :). I go there maybe once a week or 3 times every two weeks. So you know i’ll be back soon.

The food was great, fast, and cheap. We’ll definitely be back. The staff was awesome as well.

The only thing this place has going for it is that half its waitstaff looks like pornstars. Our order was brought out slowly and inaccurately; our food was lukewarm and flavorless; our table was only cleared once – and partially, at that. To make matters worse, the owners of this place are too cheap to accept American Express, yet too lazy to remove the sticker on their door indicating that they do.

Favorite place in all of Austin for migas! Parking can be tough, but I’ll drive around the lot for 20 minutes just to have their breakfast.

Always wonderful food. Never had a complaint in the 10+ years I’ve been going here.

The food is pretty good but the service can be atrocious. On more than one occasion small to-go orders can take over 40 minutes. I’d care less except when I ask they say, 5 – 10 minutes. Irritating. At that point it isn’t worth the trouble of fighting for a parking spot and dealing with the terse front counter lady. Full disclosure, I am writing this while still waiting on an order I placed 50 minutes ago. I might as well drive to the border at this point.

Lingua tacos and Al Pastor tacos. They were open even during the storm. Snaps for that! Really good this time!

This is some of the most flavorful mexican food in south Austin. The tortillas are pretty good and the salsa is great but sometimes so hot i can’t handle it(and I love spicy). I had the Botana Arandina plate which has a variety of different things like taquitos, tamale, some nachos etc and I was blown away by the flavor. My husband got the barbacoa taco plate and highly enjoyed it. Negatives: chips, no beer/alcohol Pass on: prepackaged desserts

I love this little hole in the wall place! I am a regular here and sometimes I just crave it. I do wish the adobado tacos didn’t come out greasy sometimes. But I still love them. The green sauce and melon agua frescas are the best! My biggest complaint would be that they give you a tiny stack of very little and thin napkins. Please up grade your napkins. This is the only thing I would change. Other wise, I am a customer for life!

Great food and great atmosphere. I eat here at least once a week and have dined at many of their locations across the city. Their menu is priced right and I never leave hungry. Their taquitos plate with pastor and queso blanco is my favorite and the tacos de asada is also worth the purchase. Food comes out quick and the staff is eager to please.

This place is awesome. It is hard to find good Mexican food that isn’t tex mex since I moved to Texas. I’m always helped by the same lady when I come here(I think maybe she is the owner). She is very nice, the service is quick, and the food is delicious! Highly recommend.

Flavorful and reasonable prices. $ 1.99 for tacos, which you can choose from a variety of meats. I like the carne asada plate which comes with cactus! Free chips and three kinds of salsa when you sit down. Food comes out fast and has always been tasty. Run by Spanish-speaking ladies that don’t speak much English so get ready to point at the menu!

Fantastic food, extremely fast, cheap. This place is Mexican food. That’s it. But it just happens to be real and real good.

Good spot! I loved my tacos and enjoyed the veggie quesadilla I ordered. My husband was not overwhelmed by his plain cheese quesadilla, it was small and mediocre. The meat in the tacos was tasty and I would definitely like to come back and try their breakfast options.

Many years ago, I tried this chain at their I35/290 location and absolutely did not like it. Fast forward 10 years later and one of my good friends was raving about the fried fish. I told him about my unpleasant experience years ago but said I would try it since he wanted to go to a different location and it had been over 10 years. I liked the three salsas that Arandinas gives as a free appetizer and quite frankly have returned just for that. My fried had me try their fried tilapia which comes with cuts in the meat in a gridiron fashion that givie you these little pieces of fried fish to pick off. I liked and have been back more than a few times for this dis. The price isn’t bad and the other dishes are decent. It’s worth a try. FYI, A fajita connoisseur will probably not like their fajita. But hey, we aren’t doing fine dining here. It’s great for the price and portions when you are feeling like some tex-mex.

Very good place! The tortas, huaraches, and tacos are the real deal! Very authentic. Soy Mexicana and I love this place! If you are looking for authentic food, this is a very good place. La fajita is very good!

Located about 20 minutes south of UT campus, Taquerias Arandinas boasts the most authentic Mexican cuisine in the city. And they definitely live up to it. Keep in mind that there a lot of places with the same name, but are all run by different members of the family. This review is for the William Cannon location which is definitely some of the best food I’ve had. The food is absolutely amazing. Their ground beef(yes ground beef, not even fajita beef) is marinated very well and is full of flavor. Their chicken is tender but moist. My chicken quesadilla was comprised of nothing more than a tortilla, chicken and cheese and was one of the most incredible quesadillas I’ve ever had. The cheese was melted and gooey, and was served with some sour cream and guacamole. It was also large enough to fill me from half-hungry. A comparabley sized quesadilla would run you $ 9+ at Taco Cabana. Taquerias Arandinas looks a little run down on the outside, but is lively and bustling inside. If you’re in the mood for real Mexcian food, this place is definitely worth driving out to.

I took my girlfriend here after she had been avoiding going to it for quite some time. The location and building itself is nothing to admire… However, after a quiet & pleasant experience she tells me she feels much differently. They were prompt and brought out chips with 3 types of salsa(2 red 1 green) before we ordered. I had the tres enchiladas and she had a ginormous burrito. We both topped our meals with some Verde concoction(hers a la carte, no issues) and it made both dishes. Very good! I had some queso before hand as well that was mediocre. The chips it came with were a bit stale. None the less, both main entrees were bomb and next up for us to try is their breakfast which I hear is superb. 20 bucks for all, 2 Tvs playing nonsense-you won’t care… They appear to make their own Mexican bread.

This place is in my neighborhood, and it’s GREAT! Now, I’m not sure it’ll be my «fave»; I’ve got a place that I’ve been going to for over a decade now, and I’m sure some folks will agree, ya just get«comfortable» with the food at your favorite establishments(hey Vern, why do they call it «comfort food» anyway?). But it is maybe 5 minutes closer than my regular Taqueria and in the same price range: downright CHEAP. I thought it more expensive, like the«Taqueria Jalisicensa» place down the street on S. 1st(and elsewhere); probably why this was my first time in the joint. We had just gotten done with a rehearsal, and this was our first«official»(road trip? It was just about a mile), as a band. And our«groupies/roadies»(aka: Amber’s roommates and fellow musicians). Too hungry, and too much conversation flyin’ around to take any pic’s of food. Jus’ a couple shots of us(thank you, waitress). Everyone had something different, I opted for the Mole Chicken. Mole is possibly the most complex item in Mexican cooking. It usually involves Mexican Chocolate, but may have literally DOZENS of ingredients, melded into a complex mix of flavors that cannot be described here. When it comes to Mole,(generally speaking), most folks either love it, or don’t care for it; there doesn’t seem to be an «in between». I LOVEIT! So, I had the Mole Chicken, with Frijoles y Arroz(that’s beans & rice go those of you even more Gringo than I), and of course flour tortillas, which I use to mop up the extra Mole sauce(don’t know if that’s proper«Mole etiquette», but it works for me). SIXBUCKS for this plate? Ay carumba!(probably spelled that wrong, but you get the idea) It was delicious! A quarter chicken(mine was leg & thigh), literally SMOTHERED in Mole. The Mole was awesome, and while I don’t claim to be a «full» Mole expert, I’ve had my share, so feel somewhat qualified to judge. This was award-winning worthy Mole. The waitress never let us run out of Chips & Salsa, something some places don’t pay attention to, after the first«plopping down». Salsa was tasty; not spicy enough for me, but restaurant Salsa never is(gotta please the«masses», and they can’t take a lotta heat). I make my own at home, usually have some on hand in the fridge, but I use SERRANOS; no heat problem at mi casa! Yeah, I recommend this place, and will definitely be back. As I write this, I’m actually craving that Mole, right now, no lie! Like I like to say, ya gotta rate ANY place based on what it’s «trying to be». Accordingly, I’m harder on a place that’s trying to be upscale, high-quality, and expensive, if the quality doesn’t live up to the hosing you get in your wallet. Taqueria Arandinas is trying to be just a neighborhood restaurant, serving great food, and an affordable price point. Not only have they succeeded, but they OUTDO some places that charge more for the same fare, but deliver less. When your expectations are exceeded, based on what you expect for the price paid, you got a WINNER. That’s what ya got here. There are at least two other locations listed on Unilocal, but I seem to recall seeing more than that, in my travels around town. I’d suggest going beyond Unilocal and Googling it; you may find one closer than what Unilocal lists. I’ll go back an post some pics next time, probably of the Mole Chicken, since there aren’t any on their Unilocal page yet. I like to «fill in the blanks», especially if it’s something I like that everyone’s overlooked. larrythediner .
