Went to see what all the excitement was about. Lots of fans! Warehouse with many vendors and Jr. League fundraising bake sale with lots of goodies! I loved the skater’s derby names! If your ears are sensitive bring ear plugs, lots of fans yelling! Had fun!

Again, thanks to Unilocal we got to go to the witness the Texas Rollergirls, VIP style. It was quite an exciting event, with some ladies roller blading in the middle, ladies who you do not want to mess with. I wasn’t quite sure of the rules or what was going on. The cherry on top was that Chaat Shop was one of the food trucks there, and as VIPs we got free Bhel Puri. The day just kept getting better. The venue was new, and it was a terribly hot and humid day, with a lot of people, so we checked out early. However, I am sure we will be revisiting, probably on a cooler day to enjoy some food and drinks whilst watching women roller blade and knock each other out.

The Texas Rollergirls Recreational League, the Rec-N-Rollerderby, is strapping on the skates for another season of extreme derby training from the best trainers around, fun-fueled camaraderie and plenty of opportunities to learn and play the one-of-a-kind sport of flat track roller derby. During each Session, Rec League skaters will have the opportunity to train and skate in one or more of the four Rec League groups: Primer, Group C, Group B and Group A. As with the previous season, each group will be afforded their own practice time, and all four groups will run concurrently, beginning and ending on the same dates. Some group practice times will overlap, but each group is trained separately, and every group is trained by current or retired Texas Rollergirls
