This market may be a smaller version of Wheatsville and more accessible for UT students. It is next door to the UT Co-op. The place also comes across as a high end version of CVS market. It’s a convient store for the surrounding dorms. It is okay but it may have opened recently and it will take time for people to warm up to the place. Hopefully it will be successful as it is competing with CVS, which is 5 stores down.

When the staggeringly cheap prices at the Co-Op is not enough for your enthusiasm for UT Austin, you can come to the Co-Op outlet which often houses random things you never even knew you needed in your school colors! Here you will find bedding, furniture, lots of random kids and dogs clothing, hats, and out of season items frequently for over 50% off. Some items are damaged or scratched while others are simply just no longer in style or in the season. You can sometimes find fur hats here! I’m not sure why you’d ever need one in Austin since you would probably sweat a bunch … They even have small picture frame holders in shapes of all kinds of football … cool!

The Co-op outlet is small and the interior near the entrance sometimes smells a bit weird, but never mind that because you are here for the cheap prices and the discounted goods. Assorted UT gear and souvenirs are available here for much less than at the regular Co-op. Selection varies. It just depends on what is overstocked or leftover from previous seasons. They are a little light on knick knacks. Their strong point is clothing: T-shirts, shorts, collared shirts, track pants, hoodies. I recently bought three adult T-shirts for $ 25, and a child’s T-shirt for $ 5.

I had to get my husband something as a souvenir while I was here, so we went to the Co-op outlet. I was able to get two t-shirts for $ 7.99 each! WOW. We did walk down the street to Mama Co-op, but I didn’t really see anything that was much nicer than what I already had. The outlet has much less knick-knacky type things, so if that is what you’re looking for definitely go to the real one.

Yes, indeed! The Co-Op Outlet is a great alternative to the crowded and overpriced Co-Op main store. Both are on Guadalupe, both are overloaded with University of Texas«gear», but the outlet is the only way to go. I’ve purchased many gifts for my Ohio-based family from this low-budget locale. They always have a wide variety of sweatshirts, t-shirts, hats, and athletic gear at discount prices. Even though these styles are«last season,» for those of us who don’t care(or can’t tell the difference), here is a great deal. Play a little money-saving game. Stop by on your way to the big Co-Op and see if you can get a shirt for 1⁄3 the price. The Eyes of Texas Should Be Upon The Co-Op Outlet.
