I thought the wait staff was very nice and the food was good. If you need to park for longer then 2 hours — park in the garages.

Would rate 4 stars if it wasn’t for the rude doorman. This guy needs to take a customer service seminar. I’ve only been to the saucer twice and BOTH times this guy has managed to be obnoxiously rude within the span of a month to the same customer. If he thinks your doing something wrong he will jump on you and automatically start yelling and not let you speak. It was just a patio heater I was trying to turn on because there was no one else around, a simple«excuse me sir that’s not for customers to touch». Hope the saucer does something about him.

Good beer and fair prices. Had the nachos and they were great!

This place is an excellent example of choice and service. I went in and was instantly greeted. They have over 200 beer choices and a rewards program. The staff are knowledgeable about the selections and happy to help make choices. The food is not to high priced and the beer ranges from 3 to 22 dollars. 10⁄10 would beer again!

SO many choices to choose from on their draft menu! The great thing about this place is their staff know the differences between most of their drinks and if you are unsure then you can always ask for a sample of a drink that you are debating on. Their food was pretty good but a bit on the salty side. I guess this can be expected at a «beer» place, though. The interior was fun and quirky. There is plenty of seating indoors and outdoors. Parking can get tricky here since it is located in the Triangle but if you don’t mind the parking situation then it is really a nice place to stop in and give a try!

I came here for New Years Day brunch and was able to grab a booth right away. It was too cold outside to enjoy there expansive patio with cool seating, I ordered the Sheboygan side by side plate, a bloody mary and a side of the blue cheese coleslaw. The food came out quickly and it was delicious. The brats with all of the toppings will bring me back again, the blue cheese coleslaw was probably the best slaw that I have ever had and the potato salad was just ok. I also tried my buys saucer dipster and that was pretty impressive and I was envious of his loaded rocket tots and dipping sauce(of course I swiped most of them). My complaints: 1. The bloody mary was straight mix and I had to doctor it up myself. 2. Where is the waitress? 3. Can I get water… oh wait I can’t get my waitresses attention YIKES, 4. Took forever to get the check 5. Did I mention the terrible service? I know this place is great because I have friends who swear by it. Maybe it was an off day because of it being the morning after new years eve. The food was so good but, wow that service and lack luster bloody mary is why I am giving it 3 stars.

I’ve only been to the Flying Saucer in Austin a couple times since my friends and I usually prefer to go to the nearby Draught House but I don’t have any complaints about this small southeastern chain. Service has always been prompt even when busy. The beer selection is everything they promise and there’s something for everyone(yes, they have ciders). I haven’t tried any of the food but it always looks quite appetizing when passing by. $ 3 Texas pints on Sunday and $ 3 drafts on Monday. Parking out front can be very limited but don’t worry the nearby parking garage is free.

Get the beer float! Russian imperial stout and vanilla ice cream. Also I love mixing double chocolate stout with lindemanns raspberry framboise. Parking at the triangle usually sucks! The patio is great, chicks are hot, good service.

Poor service in a place that looks and smells like an old Bennigan’s. The door guy checking IDs at the front was the friendliest staff member we encountered. Large selection of beer but don’t expect the bartender to know anything about any of the beers. Ask for a recommendation and have the entire list of beers read to you. Helpful? Nope. Give the bartender 6 bucks cash for a $ 5.50 tab and have the change tossed into the tip jar by her, without asking, as she glares at you. Guess that’s all she wanted for a tip! I was not a fan of this place, despite a large selection of beers and fried food– the staff was unfriendly, the décor was ridiculous, and the patrons themselves snotty as well! There was however a large amount of unsocialized, bad behaving DOGS on the patio though! All in all a bad enough experience to keep us away for good.

This is a great pub for beer and food. The service is always good and the specials are great. They always have a huge selection of beers to choose from!

Though some of the familiar faces have changed here, the epic level of service has not. It is no secret I am a regular here and my 3rd plate reads«If you can read this, you’re sitting in my spot» for a reason. I am still always amazed how, regardless of who is behind the bar, there is a fancy water and beer in front of me w/in mins of me claiming a stool at the bar. It has gotten to the point when I go to another Austin bar for a pint, I feel as if I am cheating! I have become smitten w/yet another food item here… the Bratzel w/kraut instead of green onions. I think I have personally sold more of these then the menu itself because whenever I get one, anyone sitting on either side of me always says«what is that!?! It looks good!». I think the Saucer and I became officially Common Law married when they had Avery Tweak on draught this past week. Anything that tastes that good @17.8% ABV better just put a ring on it! Love you long time, FS Austin, because you always know how to show me the love!

I’m not much for beer, but this place has a pretty good selection of beers for cheap, especially if you go on Monday for Pint Night($ 3/pint)! The staff are always pretty good about giving good recommendations. I recently went on a Wednesday, because(not sure if they do this every week) the do a special beer of the week, which comes in a custom cup that you get to take home after you drink it! I mean, obviously the beer will be a hit or miss, depending on your taste, but who cares – YOUGET A FREECUP. I had the dino-something beer last week, which came in a pretty nice cup, which I obviously got to keep. Their pretzels are pretty good! A little on the pricey side, in my opinion, but if you’re going on pint night, $ 3 beer is pretty good with $ 9 pretzels. They give you 2 pretzels(you can order just one, though), and you can choose 2 different dips/sauces. I’ve had the queso and the cream cheese(I think?) and those are both really good. The pretzels are really soft; I’m a fan! They also have a club/membership that you can join for $ 15-$ 20(?). If you love beer, this is something I heavily recommend you invest in. Basically, you get 100 different beers, and once you hit 100, Flying Saucer will throw you a party that’s valued at $ 100! At said party, you get your own personalized plate with your name on it and your level(for every 100 beers, you go up a level, I believe). AND you get a free shirt with membership!

Pleasant place to have a few beers and have nice conversation. Nice beer selection although a few times I’ve been there, they have been out of what I like. I’m giving it a 5 star! Never had an issue with waitresses or food. One thing I did notice this last time I went was they took the Atomic sauce off the buffalo wings they used to have on their menu and replaced it with some other sauce which isn’t hot at all. They should put it back on the menu — ONEOFTHEMAINREASONS I WENTTHERE! Atomic wing sauce and beer! Manager — please put it back on the menu! Otherwise — great bar food!

Corporate Chain Bar with no real soul. Absolutely. But you know what they do correctly? Cold beer. They have an extensive, rotating beer selection. You know what else they do well? Cute waitresses in cute outfits. Now this does not factor into my review in anyway but hey who doesn’t like to look at beautiful ladies while enjoying a pint? Tried the bacon wrapped stuffed jalapenos and they were a surprise. Large jalapenos stuffed to the gills. I would recommend these. I am not sure if/when I will come back due to the location not really being convenient for me but I would not turn the place down.

We went on a Thursday night with a group and had a great time. We sat out on the patio which was nice. The waitress did a good job of taking care of us. Their beer selection is good. We had just eaten nearby, so I can’t review the food. There were a couple of dogs on the patio, so the place is dog friendly(at least on the patio), which is nice. I’d like to go back and try the bites along with the pints. Nice location in the triangle. Parking close can be tricky, but if you don’t mind walking a little, it’s OK. Fun place.

Establishment is located in the Triangle. Close to the UTIM fields. Pretty easy to locate once you get into the Triangle There is plenty of parking outside the establishment, especially since there are other shops and restaurants around. If you can’t find any right outside the location, there is a parking structure nearby. The place can get pretty packed in the evenings. It’s really a hit or miss. However, I’ve always been able to find a seat, even if it is outdoor seating. There are couches inside as well if you want something more comfortable to chill in. Service is superb. The servers are all super friendly and helpful. Been here many times and had excellent service everytime The drinks are pretty awesome. There is a wide variety of what you can choose from. Mainly selections are from beers and ciders. The food isnt’ bad either. Bonus: I recommend coming on Monday Pint Nights. $ 3 pints! Also, if you don’t know if you want to get a specific drink, be sure to ask for a sample first to try it! Make sure you get the one that you want!

I often visited the Flying Saucer in Ft Worth, so I was very excited to find one near where I live. There are many similarities in the locations(this being a chain after all), but I don’t think that should be held against this place. I’ve only eaten here once, so most of my experiences are with the beer. They have a huge variety as you would expect. But I think what sets Saucer apart are the specials throughout the week. There’s always a $ 3 fire sale and much more. The food itself is ok. My friend had a burger that he really enjoyed and I had the chicken sandwich. The sandwich itself was pretty good, but the potato salad that came with it was soggy and tasted old(thus the 1 star knock). I’d definitely still eat here, but stick to the fries. Join the UFO club if you plan to come here regularly; it leads to a plate on the wall and a pretty large beer belly in the end!

Austinites — I know this is a chain and we tend to stay away from those and keep it local… but Flying Saucer has some serious ATX charm for a chain. Their outdoor patio is so lovely during the spring and summer time. I have gone to this location on several occasions and every time has been great. First off, the pretzels alone are worth the trip and finding parking in the Domain. Delicious soft pretzel, brat, and a bit of queso dipping sauce… stop it. I’m sold. I highly recommend going on Pint Night or Trivia Night as this is a fun fun time to be at this location. I would highly recommend this spot for a beer night with friends!

Gotta drop a star Saucer… Stopped by at lunch yesterday to meet someone: even with fewer than 10 customers on hand the bartender kept an extended conversation up with the servers before coming over to see me. We then found through trial and error not a single IPA on tap. Not. One. Settled for a Shiner and attitude. Sat outside with my friend and even though three servers started working the crowd as it began to grow for lunch, no one came by to see us. Not. One. What a weird unfriendly place. Done.

Everyone already knows about my undying love for rocket tots and how nifty I think the UFO program is, so there’s no point in rehashing those details. Rocket tots? Still awesome. UFO Program? Still nifty. After all my visits to Flying Saucer in various cities, I have finally tried the cheese fries and they are amazing. Add the chili for $ 1. It’s so worth it. Nice chunks of green onion, nice chunks of bacon, so much gooey cheese, and a healthy serving of ranch. Because everything tastes better with ranch. $ 3 Texas brews on Sunday is pretty darn cool. Who doesn’t love good Texas beer for cheap? Try some new stuff, buddy, it is only $ 3. The dart boards, though, are really kind of terrible. You have to really put your back into throwing those darts or else they won’t stick in the dart board. Do you know how annoying it is to see your awesome bullseyes keep bouncing off? Really annoying. Then there’s the problem of low accuracy when throwing hard — the darts stick better in the wall than they do the board, as evidenced by all the holes in the wall.(How are people missing the dart board by that much?!) That’s no bueno. Even though this location is in the Triangle, I’ve never had much difficulty finding a parking spot. The clientele is a little too broseph for me, but if you go during quiet times, the atmosphere is much more laid back. Even though it is the Flying Saucer and they are known for their beer selection(and it is great, don’t get me wrong), this is less impressive to me because I’m in Austin and I can get a great beer selection at a lot of places. If you take comfort in consistency and you don’t mind the student crowd, then this Flying Saucer will serve you well.
