We love Margot. She’s always been wonderful with both my son and daughter. I would recommend her to anyone that enjoys cute, traditional kids hair cuts. Plus, the kids love going to beautiful studio, and the fact that Teo is next door is an additional plus.

So disappointed. I had been waiting to take my little girl for her first ever haircut, but wanted to take her somewhere nice. Started to leave when I walked in to find the place quite dirty. There was tons of hair from previous hair cuts that had not been swept up. Margot was also more forceful that I’d prefer with my little girl’s head and neck. I will definitely not be returning or recommending this place to any of my friends.

I went in hopeful because the place is local, close by, and a charming location, but was very disappointed. My nine month old fussed and cried in the chair most of the time. More importantly, he went in with a head full of beautiful curls, which I told the hairdresser specifically to leave alone. I just wanted a trim to keep the hair out of his eyes, and off his neck and ears. His curls were gone afterwards and haven’t returned four months later. It broke my heart. I just took him for his second haircut at KAOS and was thrilled. The cut looks great and he didn’t fuss a bit. Maybe it’s because he’s a little older(13 months) but I don’t think so.

We took our daughter here for her very first cut. Margot took a call on her cell phone and proceeded to stay on the call while she began our daughter’s cut and for at least 5 minutes of the 8 minute haircut. After reading all of the glowing reviews of this place, I was VERY disappointed. She also took the cape off well before she was finished with the cut and our daughter ended up covered in tiny little hairs. Perhaps we saw her on an off day, but we won’t be returning.

Fantastic. Our little 20 month old boy is a pistol for sure. Margot was VERY patient with him and let him play with the toys around the place. After a bit, my husband was able to hold our son on his lap while Margot cut his hair quickly and placated him with other toys to prevent him from being super squirmy. The end results was a great haircut done fast. We will definitely be returning for future haircuts here!

Margo managed to fix my daughter’s badly messed up bangs. In less than 5 minutes. She is amazing with children’s hair.

Margot does a great job doing haircuts for kids and she is quick — which is very important when you’re working with toddlers! We will definitely go back — we got lots of compliments on my twins’ cuts!

We took the twins there for their first haircut. Really, all they needed was a trim and shaping. The place is cool. Small. Lots of toys and treats for kids who do well in the seat. The owner, Stephanie, did a great job getting the kids in and out of the seat. She was calming and good to them. The haircuts look great, but I have to say that it’s a bit overpriced($ 22/cut) for what you get. The owner might consider price levels for kids that just need a trim versus a full-on cut.

Just saw Margo today for my 19-month-old son’s first haircut, and she is wonderful! The place is full of fun toys, Margo and Candice are super friendly and accommodating, and my son’s haircut is perfect. I absolutely recommend this place!

Totally agree that Miss Margo ROCKS. Her haircuts are the best we’ve found for our kids(2 and 6), reasonably priced(about $ 20), and best of all the kids adore her. The experience is great for them from start to finish: if there’s a brief wait(and it’s always brief) they can play with toys. During the haircut, she gives the kids interesting things to look at and chats with them. After the haircut, each child can pick a candy from the«Treasure Box»(but first Ms Margo clears it with the parents, bless her). And if you want to make an outing of it for a reluctant child, the Hair’s Lair just happens to be within a few feet of both a toy store and an ice-cream shop! The only negative is that she doesn’t take credit cards(but does take checks). Overall, though, FIVESTARS!

And then some more stars! I have three children, 10−3−2 yrs old. My youngest two have autism, so we ifnd it really hard to use services all over austin, due to the fact that they are such difficult children to handle, but the stylist at Hair Lair, gave my daughter the SWEETEST hair cut! Like I have posted on my own pictures, I donated over 15 inches of mine own hair to Locks of Love, so I wanted my daughter to have a short bob cut like I had just gotten before summer got here, but knew it would never happen… WRONG! This lady rocks, and she is so great with special needs children, she had her done and out of that chair in 10 minutes, and her hair was PERFECT! I still don’t know how she got it done, and I was standing right there. Her voice is just really soothing, she’s is calm, patient, and really good at hair too. And she has a room full of toys, and my daughter played there for about 10 minutes after she was done, she liked it so much. And she got a prize to choose from, awwwwww :) Its a tiny one room place, but big things happen in that tiny little room. You should take your kids there, over those chain places any day!
