The Jigglewatts Burlesque Revue

For me, this show left A LOT to be desired, ESPECIALLY for the steep price of $ 25. Had I paid $ 10, I would not be writing a negative review.
I am not sure if half of the dancers just didn’t show up because of the yucky weather last night, but the program showed 10 dancers and a male comedian (host) who was supposed to be really good (apparently he had won some kind of comedian awards). Not to mention the staff told me it was a 2 hour show. Well we got 5 dancers, a so-​so host who sometimes forgot her lines (however, she was very cute), and with the break included, there was only about 55 mins of actual show time. The dances were mostly mediocre for me, and the ladies never even did a group burlesque (they sang a song as a group at the end but did not take anything off)! The whole thing almost just seemed kind of thrown together, in my humble opinion. Like I said, I’m not sure if just half the dancers showed up or not, which, if that is the case, they should have rescheduled the show and issued rain checks. Perhaps I just had too high of expectations as I have seen the Clock Tower Ladies in Denver, CO and they were MIND BLOWING! I also have seen a free show in my small college town that actually was better than the Jigglewatts.
One plus? The ladies all had real bodies and seemed very self confident– that’s always in style. But will I visit Jigglewatts again? Only if they do a whole lot of improvin… but still weary of blowing another $ 25 to find out…

My wife and I have been to alot of Burlesque shows all over the US and can honestly say the this is one of the very best Burlesque shows we’ve ever seen. This troupe has it all, a great mix of classic burlesque tease with modern touches, fantastic costuming and best of all, real ladies who know how to tease and perform and work the crowd. Not only can they dance but they have singing talent as well! The night we went they had a comedian from Austraila who was also the emcee and she was hilarious, OMG she had us on the floor laughing so hard and most of it was improv and interacting with the crowd. They were adult jokes so be warned. but in good taste. LOL! They had two sets with each dancer showcased in both sets and a break in the middle so you could get drinks etc, and the dancers took time to meet and greet during the break and again after the show. You could even pose with them for pictures afterwards.
We had a great night and will definitely be back.

Expectations Kill Joy. My wife and I went to the 11÷21÷14 show for her birthday. We have both been to Burlesque shows in Denver and excepted a similar experience. What a let down. I applaud the girls for their confidence and effort. They are real women with real bodies.
My issue with the show is that is not worth the price. The venue was less than half full. I feel that the entertainment value is in the $ 10 price range. With a lower price they might be able to pack the place and create a more enjoyable energy from a full crowd. If they want to pack the place with $ 20-​$ 25 tickets they need to improve the production quality. I am no theater buff, but there are obvious short comings. The emcee talked to much, the routines were to similar, and the music selection had no real influence on creating a mood. I know that women of burlesque do not like to be compared to strippers, but I felt like it was just about getting to the T&A. There was no real tease, no build in anticipation.
I would encourage the Jigglewatts to visit Lannie’s Clocktower Cabaret in Denver and create a relationship with their cast so that they can elevate their show. Good Luck

OK, first of all let me say the setting on the second floor above Maggie Mae’s with an entrance just off 6^th Street is pretty cool. But beyond that, I am not a fan. I want to be respectful here, but this is not what I thought it was going to be. Many /​most of the performers were «big» ladies. It’s awesome that they are not plagued by insecurities over their body image. And I’m sure that there may be those out there that like that sort of thing. But for me and my group, it was not what we thought we would see at an Austin burlesque show. Maybe I should have paid more attention to the «jiggle» in the billing name for the Jigglewatts. But for the most part, this was not appealing to watch.

These ladies were amazing. My boyfriend and I went. I loved the ginger devil. Hot! ! They kept it clean, but not too clean. I would recommend this to a group for a party. Awesome dirty jokes and the girls were so comfortable with themselves. I heard they offer a class. I think it would be a fun bunch of ladies to work with.

It was my friend’s birthday and we all decided to go to Maggie Mae’s for the burlesque show one Friday night. I had never been to one before and my expectations were high. Wow, I was not disappointed… not even close.
There is a definite sense of female empowerment when you watch these women perform. I can imagine it’s a hard challenge to be able to portray eroticism with such high level of class. Nevertheless, these women are masters of their craft and accomplish it beautifully. (+10 for all the ladies!)
Each performer had their own unique personality that was characterized on stage. That night we watched the seductress, the quirky girl next door, and the character artist. Suffice to say, I left feeling elated. I can’t wait to go back and experience another performance.
Also to note, the MC that opened the show was a riot! He was funny, interactive, and very clever.

Last night my fiancé and I attended our first burlesque show (for his birthday). Me, stepping out of my comfort zone and not being confident with my own body, was truly shocked and amazed with these ladies! They rocked it! We enjoyed the show, the MC and the atmosphere. If you want to do something different for date night, this is the thing to do. P. S Upgrade to luxury seating ($ 5 more) it’s worth being comfortable for 1 ½ hours. :)

Love love LOVE the Jigglewatts! World class burlesque right here in Austin, Texas. Be sure and catch their next performance… I haven’t had that much fun in years!

There hasn’t EVER been a time in history (not at the fall of civilization, during any world war, or even at a time of desperate «Grapes of Wrath» levels of need), that the human race HASN’T been benefited by… looking at a lovely lady.
If you’re lucky enough to catch them live… as a woman, you’re bound to learn a thing or two, as well as revive your own mischievous urge for the kind of mayhem only a lady can create. As for the fellas… these women will make you want to be a better man.
I have seen them at quite a few charity events and done myself the favor of catching them when I can at venues such as the Spiderhouse or Justine’s. Wherever, and whenever, you get the chance to spot this classy, talented, and timeless troupe, you KNOW that you should strap yourself in for a treat. It’s gonna be a bumpy ride!

These ladies define not only sass and sexy, but glamour and class. Every show of theirs that I’ve attended has been wonderful and enjoyable. Great music, incredible performances that will leave you breathless (not only from the sheer display of amazing talent, but from the sheer «sheerness» of it all), humor, and mature, risqué entertainment that actually seems to draw more female fans than male, all contributes to the exquisite joy that are the Jigglewatts! It’s sublime entertainment for any adult of either gender and any sexual persuasion. Take a date and get powered up by the Jigglewatts!
