I love this place! Such a great little neighborhood grocery store. The owner is the nicest person alive. I love her so much. She is always in the best mood and just leaves me smiling. It’s the perfect place for picking up a bottle of wine and cheese or whatever I need on my way home. Great and good priced wine and beer selection!

The Market on South Lamar has become a neighborhood staple. I work next door, and this little store has just about everything I need to get through my work day as well as the weekend(I sometimes pick up a bottle of wine on my way home). The best part is the prepared food. The owner, Patty, makes everything from scratch, including soups and fried rice! The other day I placed a catering order for the next day, and despite the lack of advanced notice, Patti put everything together for us. It was fresh and delicious!

Easiest place for me to grab a bottle of wine or last minute fixings in a pinch. The owner is very nice and always there.

Happy Anniversary! I adore this place! Have watched it grow and develop over the past year and see what it has become on its one year anniversary. Quality products, including vegan and gluten free, amazing walk– in beer cooler(great place to select your brew slowly on a hot day). Everything to put together a nice dinner or good cheese and wine to take on a picnic. Breakfast tacos(homemade) in the a.m., homemade(to order sandwiches) anytime and grab-n-go selections(like homemade meatloaf and mashers, quinoa salads) and so much more. Hear there may even be local beer on tap in the future alongside the already existing fresh chilled local kambucha(okay, laugh heartily if I mis-spelled the name, but at least you know I am not a snob about it– ie: I can’t spell — or pronounce it for that matter-it but I really like it). Can even buy a jug of it from the tap. While it is true that there are no hot dogs on those rollers(with the buns underneath) or a slushie machine, I think you’ll still be okay in finding a fix that works. Plus, the hospitality seals the deal. Lovely and helpful, yet not intrusive. Also, truly open to, and not offended by, requests or suggestions. Part of what makes Austin great! Happy anniversary to Patti and the Market! Can’t wait to see how you have grown over the next year!

I love this place! There are great breakfast tacos, delicious sandwiches for only $ 5(who has a $ 5 sandwich that isn’t a major chain?), an array of wine and beer and various options of drinks, including kombucha. Patty also sells fresh eggs from her chickens. Have you ever had a freshly laid egg? If not, you must. Every time I have asked Patty if she can start carrying something I crave, she has ordered it. She makes you feel like your apart of her family. I love that kind of local, home-like service. This is a great neighborhood market.

This grocery store did not meet the expectations that I mentally set for something situated on South Lamar, in close proximity to many neat restaurants and the sort. For one, many of the drinks in the cooler were expired. As well, the chips and candy selection was lacking. Mostly, I was disappointed in the sandwich offerings. Walking in for lunch, I hoped to find fresh sandwiches or perhaps some distributed by local delis that spanned the range from pastrami to pimento cheese… What I received was a question: ham, turkey, or roast beef on white or wheat? Perhaps they will continue developing this new shop, but for now, not much is happening in these parts. The service does bid me return, as I felt welcome and invited in by Patty, the owner.

I enjoyed a warm conversation with Patty(owner) as she prepared my yummy sandwich & tomato soup. A+ all around extremely clean, high quality,&personable market. We need to support our local owner operated community stores like this apple tree amidst the hustle on S.Lamar.

Love The Market on Collier! There’s a great assortment of snacks, coffee, deli sandwiches, and a great beer and wine collection. The whole place has a relaxing, comfortable vibe, and the owner couldn’t be more gracious. She helped me pick a fantastic wine to bring to a neighborhood gathering. There’s something about a neighborhood market that just can’t be matched.
