No better place to get great advice and products then at third coast hydroponics. These guys helped me out when I was trying to build a garden. What a great gardening shop! The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. They are helping me set up a drip system for my patio container garden. You can find supplies here that aren’t available in the big box stores. More importantly, you can receive expert advice on your project. This is my go-​to garden shop from now on.

Want to feed your garden with fish feed? Compost tea? This place is the sustainable gardener’s dream! Will be back soon for okra plants and to set up my aquaponics. This is one of those great locally-​owned shops where you can get good advice and help when you’re rehabbing a black thumb like me.

Sean has always been friendly and helpful, and he can tell you more about making healthy soil in two minutes than you would otherwise probably learn in a lifetime. He has printed information to take with, and he even gave me a free sample of compost tea for my garden once. Other times, he’s looked up plant nutritional needs for me on the Internet, and told me about a city composting rebate program I could take advantage of.
Sean doesn’t carry any products he doesn’t like, so you’re safe making choices there. This is an honest local business, helping to keep the friendly character of Austin alive on Burnet Road. I encourage you to pay Third Coast a visit, pick up some kelp or compost tea, and do your garden, and Austin, a favor.
I think a lot of people into growing stuff hydroponically visit this store — that might even be the specialty — but organic outdoor gardeners should love it also.

I «yelped» to find a place I could go to take my cucumber leaves from my garden (they were not looking good) and the cherry tomatoes I was growing. When I walked in Sean was talking to a friend/​customer and immediately stepped away and put out his hand to introduce himself to me.
I showed him my samples and he immediately told me the problem I was having. He led me to what would take care of the problem. He answered all of my questions and was very detailed with me on what I needed to do. He told me I would need to come in later to get some home brewed substance for the garden. It is sold by the gallon. I told him the size of my garden and he said, «Oh you’ll only need a half gallon, I’ll just GIVE IT TO YOU.» He said his goal is to get people to to enjoy this plants, growing etc.
I was so blown away by how nice he was. When I was leaving he handed me his card and said to call or come by anytime I had a question about anything. I would definitely recommend going to to Sean for whatever you may need. I will be going back shortly to get the home brewed substance I need. Plus, everything I needed is organic!

A fortuitous chain of events led me to Third Coast Horticulture Supplies, thanks to Unilocal.I had already been considering a Bokashi composting system but thought I needed to buy a system online. Yesterday, I went to Unilocal to figure out where to go for dinner and I saw the YOTD which was singing the praises of the Microbial Earth composting kit. Excellent! So then ME’s website said that they sell the system at a store just down the street from me. Double excellent!
Third Coast (Shawn) did a great job of introducing me to the Bokashi system, explaining how to use the «tea» that it produces, how to bury the scraps, etc. I definitely feel ready to tackle this now. I was also introduced to compost from Microbial Earth that they sell there in the shop. Shawn explained why all these delightful microorganisms are so good for plants. It’s clear he loves his microbial critters and the results they produce in his garden.
If you are looking for some good advice about how to pump up your garden or just trying to do some plant CPR because of the drought and heat, Third Coast is your resource!

Went in the other day with the desire to learn about hydroponic systems and growing. Having little to no knowledge at all I was eagerly met by Sean who was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Even though he was running on little sleep he spent over an hour helping me understand the basics and knowledge that comes with hydroponics.
He never tried to sell me anything and even described ways to go about building my own systems. The store is impeccably clean and has different hydro examples for viewers to look upon. His products seem to be top of the line and fairly priced. He even has a wide variety of organic products as well.
If you ever have a question about hydroponics or gardening in general Sean is the man to go see. Also his self milled desk top is awesome! Thanks Sean.

This is a great resource. They helped me with all my gardening questions. The proprietor is very knowledgeable and directed me to products and gave me tips and directions for using them. A really convenient location on Burnet with easy parking.
Oh! I forgot to mention that they have hydroponics equipment and systems, again with good, helpful information and guidance. So they helped me inside and out!
