Great, friendly, & speedy service. Delicious sandwhich! Looking forward to my next visit!

It’s been way too long since someone posted a review for these guys. I love the 360 Nueces crew. Great sandwiches… Epic staff. Yes, epic.

100’s of people come to the football fields, skatepark and parks near this store on Sunday’s. And you are closed. Not real bright.

Not sure if this a growing trend among TS, but last time I checked. When you call in an order and arrive 15 – 20 minutes later. You should expect your food to be ready, not the order still sitting next to the telephone. I’m really growing tired of BS, called 15 minutes prior arrive 20 minutes later and my food is still not ready. and YES i said i’d be there in 15 minutes. Whats the deal dude?! So please forgive me for my poor attitude and lack of desire to tip you for an error you made. Maybe I’ll give TS a try again when my sour attitude wears off or pig freaking fly.

I love all thunderclouds, and when I started working downtown it was a huge breath of relief to find that there was a t-cloud just a 15 minute walk from my office! I always order the turkey, and if I’m feeling fancy I’ll add bacon. Or, if it’s cold out, I’ll splurge on a meatball sub(which is amazing, but has LITERALLY1,000 calories!!!). Always had perfectly nice service, and I like sitting outside. I think this part of Nueces will be better for people-watching soon once the construction is done.

I decided to try TS for the first time and I was pretty disappointed. The avocado, which is a spread, did not look fresh and it was globbed all over my sandwich. I got the combo and opted for the bottled water, which came from the fridge but was somehow warm. I enjoyed the bread(I’m picky when it comes to my sandwich bread) and the bacon was good. I did have some concerns about the staff’s cleanliness. Not one of the ladies had a hat or hairnet, and the one who prepared my sandwich did not wear gloves. I don’t know if that’s a TS thing, but it weirded me out. I might try another location some day in the future, when I’m not so perturbed by all this. However, I will avoid this one.

I am a downtown office worker so I end up eating sandwiches a few times a week. My office is near the Warehouse District and most of the places around there are too pricey for a sit-down lunch, so Thundercloud is on the short list of places to go. I have an awesome Thundercloud by my house and every time I went to this one, it paled in comparison. Lettuce that was not that green, wobbly microwaved bacon, and so-so bread. So I stopped going for almost a year. It’s a new day for this location! I went in today and the service was excellent. Every employee said«Hello» or «Welcome to Thundercloud,» even people that were not behind the counter. The lovely lady that helped me today remembered my order from a few weeks ago and made sure to ask about each ingredient and if I wanted it in the same proportions this time — I did, and my requests are a little unusual. My favorite sandwich lately has been a BLT with extra lettuce, add Provolone, and super heavy Thunder-sauce(plus other stuff). The bacon was crisp and plentiful, the vegetables were fresh and the wheat bread was great. It was perfect. Thanks Thundercloud, I’ll be back again soon! Oh yeah, I didn’t take a photo this time because I inhaled the sub and it was delicious.

They have the worst service here! I went in to purchase a sub and the employee, Saylor tells me that they close at 6PM. I pleadingly asked her if I could get a quick sandwich, that I’d use my card, but she apologized and closed the«walk-thru» window on me. Disappointed and car-less, I had to figure out alternate dinner plans. I got back to my apt and find out the clock says 5:55PM! WTF?! I checked again and indeed, it was yet to be 6… Saylor had closed the doors to all Thundercloud Sub patrons before the official close hour… Hmm, if I were her, I would have at least tried to hide the time of closing. So I search for the number of TS and I tell her that she had turned me down when they should not have closed. She proceeds to tell me that they closed because they sold out of all the bread!!! Double WTF! I asked for the manager and then owners number and she proceeds to put me on hold for a few minutes, gives me a «front desk» number, says she has no names to give and then hangs up on me! Honestly, I go to this TS because it’s relatively convenient from where I live. With that type of service, I will never frequent there again! Ridic!

This has gotta be the second-smallest T-cloud there is; it’s TINY! I have three clients in the area, and it’s great to have a nice local sandwich option within walking distance. And if I’m on the way out of downtown, there are«customer service» zones on two corners, so I can call it in and pick it up at the window. I love windows. If food is good for the soul, then they’re the windows to the soul? That was kinda lame… I will work on my analogy the next time I’m downing a chicken salad sandwich ;)

When you have severe allergies, as I do, it is always a relief to find a place that takes allergies seriously. Every time I go into this particular Thundercloud, the staff takes care to get a new cutting board and knife, individual packets of mayo and mustard(which have not touched the raw veggies I am allergic to) and always double checks with me if they are unsure about anything. And they do all this cheerfully, so I don’t feel like a major inconvenience to them. The attention to detail and their consistently good customer service will always bring me back. The food is good and prepared quickly, so I can swing by for a quick bite in the middle of my day, too. But for me, the most important thing is the customer service and the fact that my throat won’t swell shut due to a rogue piece of lettuce.

First time ever eating here as I am from Chicago. My girlfriend, some friends, and I were in town for South by Southwest and we happened to walk past Thundercloud. The line wasn’t too long so my girlfriend and I decided to eat here as we are raving fans of a good sandwich. We weren’t disappointed either. Service was good, a little slow, but attentive nonetheless. I forgot what we ordered but it had everything on it. I would recommend this place to friends and family who are daring enough to step into Austin. I’ll eat here again if I’m in town

I was so happy to have this Thundercloud location when I worked downtown. My colleagues started to poke fun at me when I offered to pick up sandwiches for the third time in a week. Can’t stop, won’t stop. We moved south and now I have another Thundercloud around the corner at Slaughter and William Cannon. Woo! My lunch criteria is pretty simple: fresh, fast, cost-efficient. Yes, sometimes I would cheat by snagging chips and a drink from our café at work, but I usually make the drink price worth it by refilling if I have time to eat in. If you can afford the extra dollar or so, get the Austin Club. I default to the small turkey & provolone on wheat with spicy mustard, and throw on some Vickie’s bbq chips for added texture. The nada chicken actually isn’t bad if you need non-meat protein. Like most sweet tea in Texas, it’s a little too sugary for me. I’m the weird one in front of you mixing sweet & unsweet together(don’t judge). Also, I think Thundercloud locations compete for nerdiest album awards. Pretty sure I heard symphonic renditions of Rage Against the Machine the other week… Oh! Downtown parking. Try to go right before or after noon rush hour, and snag one of the 15 minute parking spots.

Thundercloud rules a barren earth bereft of quality sandwich choices. The NY Italian seems to be the only thing I can get there, no matter how hard I try. This location subscribes to the single line for ordering, and they had three guys making sandwiches when I was there. Moved quick. The only reason I don’t give this location 5 stars is it is a bit hidden, probably not easy to get to unless you’re on foot, and they’re 5 blocks from my office but don’t have downtown delivery.

I am just going to be honest… I love this location and the staff is great, however they have 0 parking and do not deliver. With all the towers and condo buildings around this has got to be killing business. Lost my business again today because I can’t run over there, find parking, and get back to work on time. :( Please Please Please start delivering.

I usually boycott Thundercloud Subs shops; my 1-man protest against their excruciatingly irritating radio jingle. But this shop has made it onto my regular WD lunch circuit because they fit 3 not-so-lofty criteria: 1) Cheap; 2) Nearby/Quick; 3) Drama-free. They are neither the«best» nor«worst» subs around and are adequately manned by not-yet-jaded college students, so all I really ask is for my food to ‘not suck’. Mission accomplished! BTW: The Thunderburger special may look like dogfood on a bun(see photo), but actually did not suck. And what’s up with the odd jazz-fusion music?

Thundercloud hooooooo! Hands down best tuna combo salad(for the measly price of $ 5.59) eva. Although I might have been STARVING… it still was a pretty freaking fantastic salad. It wasn’t that packed during lunchtime on a SXSW week, so I’m assuming that it stays the same way during«regular» days? Hope so! And 10+ points for the crew who served up some seriously fast — nice — service!

It’s a good sub shop that has unique items, including Frito Pie(yay!). They have a similar menu to any other Thundercloud, so you know what you’re getting if you’ve been to one before. One thing I was very happy to see is a Frito Pie! It was actually pretty good, and they did it traditionally, meaning — open a bag of Fritos, dump it in a bowl, cover it with chili and cheese and serve. Their chili is actually very dark and flavorful, and the saltiness of the fritos balance it very well. I also got their new«Thundercloud Burger» which was actually basically a naked meatball sub(without any sauce). It was good, but not what I was expecting. Service was quick, even at lunch. It’s a little more expensive if you’re not getting the Special of the Month, but it’s also good. A great lunch option if you’re in the area!
