Thundercloud Subs

Love this Thunder Cloud. Very good service plus they always great you with a smile. Very convenient. Love the meat ball subs especially in the winter.

My sammie was made with love, the staff was super friendly, the facilities was quirkily pleasant.
Overall a great way to pop my thundercloud cherry. My mouth was ready.

Trisha makes the best Thundercloud sandwiches ever! I highly recommend this location. The whole staff is energetic and helpful! This thundercloud became my go to place!

Unimpressed by the sandwiches. Cheap ingredients. Small sandwiches. Not a big variety on toppings.
There’s better sandwich places out there.

We used this location for our office party. It was awesome. Both Rachel and Tricia helped us with our order. They were very friendly and accommodating. Everything was in order and nicely packaged when it arrived. Thank you, ladies for the great service. Job well done. ;)

Went here for the reviews and was not disappointed. I got the Austin club and the avocado tasted fresh. Service was fast and friendly and there is free parking. Standard sandwich shop but with fresh ingredients.

Another place that I just love really threw me for a loop yesterday when I made a pretty large order and found it to be a mess. I ordered 7 subs for my office, went to pick it up and they were all packaged. I asked the clerk to make sure all subs were there before I left and she gave me the look of death. I explained that I just wanted to make sure that everyone had their food and she scowled at me like it was a huge favor she was doing for me. I get to my office, unpack the food and a few of the subs were coming out of the wrapping, a mess. I had requested a splash of thundersauce on my sandwich and when I unwrapped my food… it was dripping, my bread was soggy and falling apart it was so wet. Even dripped all over my desk. Whomever made our food was not feeling it yesterday! Maybe it was the look of death girl! Sigh.

Affordable, delicious sandwiches served with personality. Fresh ingredients on delicious bread. You don’t have to spend $ 13 on a good sandwich. I don’t understand why subway doesn’t abandon the Austin market altogether. Thanks thundercloud!

Stopped in here after a workout. Nice friendly staff. Good sub selection + build your our sub. Recommend adding the Cajun hot sauce to any order.

Awesome sandwiches. Great service. We arrived just ahead of a boys basketball team. Luckily we didn’t have to wait for our sandwiches. But they handled all of them easily. Friendly service. We will be back.

My husband loves Thundercloud, and although I have to admit that they make a good sandwich (especially veggie delite with hummus), sandwiches are my last choice as a food option. So I’ve visited a number of Thundercloud’s sporadically, when I’ve given in to my S.O.‘s sandwich craving.
Well, 6 months ago, I started working for a company at Penn Field. Thundercloud is the only thing within walking distance (besides a sad Opal Divine’s and Expose’s lunch buffet), so I thought I would have to get over my sandwich aversion. Low and behold, this Thundercloud makes a delicious vegetarian frito pie. Green chile corn bisque covers fritos smothered in cheese and topped with lettuce and tomato.
It is so freakin’ delicious.
The only problem I have with the frito pie is that the small is too small and the large is too large. Goldilocks conundrum! But in the grand scheme of things, that’s a very small concern. They also have a regular meaty chili frito pie for all the carnivores out there, but the vegetarian one is so satisfying that you don’t miss the meat whatsoever.
Service is always friendly! And there is good parking on the first floor of the parking garage.

My favorite location! Conveniently located next to a bar so if you’re tired of bar food or don’t want to go to a restaurant to drink TC is open until 10pm mon-​sun. Yay drinks and dinner! Staff is great! Especially the NYer with the big curly hair. Good vibes and good food! You won’t be disappointed: D

I love these subs. I will never go to subway again. They are also well priced and cheaper than Subway. Definitely the place you want to go for a good sub in the Austin area.

Super AWESOME staff at this location! I swear every time I come here I leave in a way better mood than when I came (last time I was actually in a foul mood, but my sandwich artist and I belted out the opening song to Beauty and the Beast and I left smiling from ear to ear). They are always having a great time and seem to really enjoy working together.
Right, the sandwiches are delicious, of course they are, it’s Thundercloud. Ingredients are fresh, bread is delightful. Egg salad is to die for. Anything with avocados is swoon-​worthy. And I’m a sucker for that nada-​chicken.
Fast and efficient as well. I have never waited in a line for more than a few minutes. Always funs!

Local … delicious … yep you get hat here… You know what else you get colorful Austin personality. I could rant about all the ethical reasons to eat here but the food is so good you wont care about all that.
The California Club is awesome! Its very classic nothing special your typical California Club perfectly made the bacon is perfect … the avocado is perfect. The ham and cheese is all just perfect.
I also love the Veggie Delite w/​Hummus… it comes off sorta like a tuna sandwich. Its so different yet delicious and filling. I’ve never been one to go for vegetarian food when bacon is on the menu, this sandwich is good enough that I will take it over a more meaty sandwich most days.
The only negative I can think of is that the prices could be a little better, Go here its good and good for you good for the community oh and the food is delicious.

When I am in the mood for a sub, Thundercloud is the only place that I think of. I actually crave the Veggie Delite with hummus. For years I would order that and get cream cheese on it and man was I missing out. The hummus adds so much flavor to the sandwich. I get it with all veggies, add jalapenos, and thunder sauce/​pepper. Excellent! Not to understate the other sandwiches on the menu. Every one that I have had has been great.
Do yourself a favor and call your order in when you can. This location gets pretty crowded at lunchtime.

Thundercloud is great, never been disappointed. I go to St. Edward’s, so this place is great because it’s right around the corner from school and they offer sandwiches and college student-​friendly prices. I always get the veggie on white with hummus without fail, and I’ve been here enough times that they actually know my order when I walk in, which is a pretty cool feeling! The people who work at this location are absolutely FANTASTIC. Sometimes I come here just because I like to catch up with the employees, honestly!
As for Thundercloud as a whole, it’s a sub shop like Subway, but the sandwiches are way better for a similar price (and for a vegetarian, they have way more vegetable options, all of which are much better quality than those of Subway).
