Had the baked mac with chicken, scotch eggs and tomato soup grilled cheese. Can’t stop thinking about all three…

Don’t waste your time! Not worth the wait! We were the only ones there for lunch and it took 45 minutes for a grilled cheese, french toast and 2 pulled pork Mac and Cheeses. Super disappointed with extremely dry pulled pork. I will not be back again.

That $ 5 egg was so damn delicious. Then we got $ 3 beer from the bar inside. It was worth the visit. It’s a nice place to eat, drink and hang out with friends. It has a very nice hipster kind of vibe and people are nice.

I’ve basically never had a grilled cheese of this stature; and I doubt I will ever encounter another that measures up! I got the«Tomato Soup Grilled Cheese» which had a few kinds of cheese in it and a sun dried tomato cream cheese spread INSIDE! It had a tiny touch of sweetness, with an overall rich and creamy feel to it. Service was fast and friendly. Having it in the back patio of Stay Gold was a majorly nice touch. Keep up the great work!

Overpriced and not good. It beats me why this place has 4.5 stars because I felt like I actually wasted my money. We got the chicken sandwich, cream corn, and baked mac and cheese with chicken. Chicken sandwich: buffalo chicken with pear slaw, crunchy onions, and bleu cheese. The chicken tasted okay but God the bleu cheese and pear slaw was an awful combination. As a whole the sandwich tasted actually disgusting and I ended up only eating the chicken. My bread was cold and burnt and the onions were not crunchy but just cooked. Cream corn: this dish actually wasn’t bad but it was so small for $ 5. And the person serving it to us had her thumb dipped in the dish. Can you say yuck. Backed Mac and cheese: literally nothing special. There was also a shortage of napkins here and it took about 20 – 30 mins to get our food and there was only 1 person ahead of us. Will not be coming back here.

This place has really good reviews, so we decided to try it. So for parking, you can park in the Stay Gold bar parking lot in front. I made the mistake of parking around the block because I was unsure of where the truck was. It turns out, the truck is inside Stay Gold in the side yard(outdoor seating) for the bar. I got the scotch egg, Mac and cheese with chicken, and creamed corn. The Scotch egg was cooked well, but drenched in sauces. Overall, a decent scotch egg. The Mac and cheese was very mediocre in my opinion, with the usual breadcrumbs on top. The chicken on top of the Mac was a little dry for my taste. What saved this place from an abysmal star rating was the creamed corn. It was very tasty and a little spicy. Albeit a little greasy, the best thing I had here was the corn. My girlfriend got the chicken sammie, and absolutely hated it. I actually took a bite, and all I could taste was bleu cheese mixed with sour pears. It definitely wasn’t pleasant. They also had no napkins around, so I had to go into the bathroom and grab paper towels. Water is sever via cooler inside the bar near the door. Bringing out the food, I also noticed she dipped her finger into my creamed corn when putting it on our table(she gripped onto the side of the paper container and her finger went into my food). I also paid around $ 35 for all the food, a little pricey for the portion size. I probably will not be coming back here.

Great food and fun employees. You must try the dessert grilled cheese –blueberry, blackberry, brie cheese, and dark chocolate — to die for!

Got the mac ‘n cheese. It looks like a small portion, but it’s super filling for $ 5. And, it has a spicy afterkick.

Definitely 5stars! Delicious, good quality, unique, great customer service, great value, and awesome atmosphere. The owner is very nice and takes pride in her work and it shows. Try the pork tacos! They were the best. Also, the buffalo chicken burger was delish. We’re looking forward to trying the rest!

I like this trend of parking a food truck inside a bar. Keeps the ruffian out ya know? :) (I’m referring to lines. I hate long lines.) Anyhoo… Toaster is parked in the courtyard of Stay Gold — a super cool bar in East Austin. Seriously, if something like this existed in SF, it would be constantly packed and super annoying. But yeah it’s Austin, so it had just the right amount of people, dogs, and music. Onto the food. The famed grilled cheese tomato creation was pretty good, but also kinda meagerly small for the price. Yes they somehow got the tomato soup flavor inside the grilled cheese, but I also would have rather had a little bowl of tomato soup to dunk into. :)

Was visiting Austin and my friend was craving bbq. So while he was having his bbq at La Barbecue, I decided to check out Toaster! Their hardcore corn is out of the world. And so are their mac and cheese and the tomato soup sandwich. I am not a big fan of sandwich shops, but Toaster totally changed my perception. The corn blew my brains away. Yummmm…

The best late night snack possible! All the stars were aligned on this amazing night in Austin that came to a close at Stay Gold and ultimately Toaster ! This amazing food trailer inside a great bar served us up some incredible Mac and Cheese as well as an amazing Dog called the Bah mi ha! Ridiculous! Washed it all down with a nice cold beer from the bar and the night was perfect! Even got a Topo Chico to go! On my list of stops now, look out Austin!

Love! The tomato soup grilled cheese is delicious and addicting! Also tried the Mac and cheese which is very good too. We came early(5:30ish) on a Thursday and had a very short wait which was awesome. Super cute patio area too! Will be back :)

Once I saw PB&J French Toast I was sold on Toaster. It blew my mind. Amazing! It’s a little difficult to find, there is a food truck lot next to Stay Gold and it is not accessible through there, you have to enter the Stay Gold patio through a gate. Once your there it is a great patio to enjoy a Sunday brunch. Will come again next time I’m in Austin.

Toaster is definitely ahead of the game when it comes to food trucks here in Austin. Located on the patio of Stay Gold it is the perfect location to get great food while hearing some great live music and enjoying cocktails. First off let me say that the food was amazing. I had the tomato soup grilled cheese and the baked mac. Both were delicious and cooked to perfection! The staff was very helpful and friendly(they brought the food right to me inside the bar!). I will definitely go back to try the rest of this menu. BRAVO!!!

Tomato Soup Grilled Cheese– SO delicious. I finished it in seconds because my taste buds wanted to repeat the experience as soon as possible. Buffalo Chicken Sammie– This was spot on. I usually prefer buffalo chicken by itself but this was amazing. The chicken is moist(How does she do it??) and super crispy even though it’s dipped in sauce(How does she do that??) AND the sauce was awesome. The celery and pear slaw adds a nice kick and the onion ring is genius. The Baked Mac– I love mac and cheese. I can never resist it. Needless to say, it was DAMN good. It’s creamy and gooey and flavorful. She puts tons of cheese and sprinkles Ritz crackers on top. LOVE!!! Super friendly service! I will be definitely be coming back to try out the other items.

We decided to attend Stay Golds super chill brunch happy hour, and were so glad that this delish spot came along with it. The patio at Stayy Gold is super cute(I wish it was less then 100 degrees outside so I could enjoy it.) We ordered 2 sandwiches, both really really fresh, tasty and of a good size, and the mac and cheese. The grilled cheese with the«tomato soup inside» is really really good, and the fried prosciutto sandwich made we wish we ordered more. Such a great addition to this spot.

Toaster’s shiny Airstream lives on Stay Gold’s patio, serving comfort food to drunks. When I visited it was on a rainy Friday, but the proprietoress still managed to be incredibly cheerful. I tried the special: a fried prosciutto sandwich(heaven, and I hope it becomes a permanent item). I also had the pulled pork tacos(just a little sweetness) and the creamed corn(I barely shared that at all with any of my friends). Caesar Chavez is not a place I often think to come for food or drinking, but I’ll try and come out just for Toaster’s creamed corn if I ever need a hug in food form.
