Was not expecting such a great experience based on the location, but I’d highly recommend anyone with a craving for TexMex in the area to stop in. I’ve been heading through during lunch hours and the service has been fast with great tasting entrees.

Great food, service, and price. Their al pastor tacos are consistently good. I have been recommending this place to any of my friends or family interested in Mexican food.

I was skeptical at first but gave it a try. My fajitas were better than I expected! Not bad for the price, either.

I had the chicken/beef fajita combo plate as well as the Pastor Taco(soft). Do yourself a favor and get a Pastor taco or plate. That pork is really delicious. Also the beef and chicken fajita meat is very well cooked and even a little crispy, which I love. Decently priced as well. I will be going back for the soup(looks really good) when the temps go down again.

Don’t let the outside fool you, Tortilleria Krystal makes some pretty great tacos. Very simple, nothing fancy, but tasty ingredients. I tried the steak which was a little tough, but had great flavor. Your choice of corn or flour tortillas which is nice. Not worth going out of the way for, but if you’re in the area and are hungry, swing by for something good and cheap. After reading the other reviews, I’ll have to try the pork on my next visit.

Legitimate taco spot, not your typical TexMex fried tortilla, chips & quest joint. Green salsa is on point!!! Like the double small tortillas they use, and the fact that it’s meat, cilantro, onion, & tortilla makes this an authentic Mexican taco eating experience. Reminds me of Mexican tacos I used to love to eat in Tijuana. It’s a hole in the wall so don’t expect it to be more than that. The employees are nice despite what other reviews state, they do what they are there to do. Take your order, serve you your meal, and say good bye when done. I know it’s against what Texas is known for, sit and chat with you about all of your business and ask about what you did your entire life. They are there to flip tables and make a profit. All the nonsense aside, food is legit and I shall return.

I stopped in once for dinner on the way home and ordered a chicken and beef burrito. I asked the young purple haired lady if it came with rice and beans on the side. She said yes. The order was prepared and it had no rice and beans. She corrected it. I got home and ended up with two, but very tasty, chicken burritos. Now I decided to try there breakfast tacos. I ordered 4 potato and egg with cheese tacos. I have to tell you. They were delicious. The customer service was much better. A young dark haired lady helped me this morning. She spoke spanish and english very well. The restaurant is cozy, small and has two wall mount flat screens for a dining distraction, which is fine on a busy lunch or dinner schedule. They have the best tortillas. I will be a regular customer now. Thank you Krystal!

I first stopped by this place because of the name and I am very happy that I did. I have been here three times so far because it’s good and close to both my home and my place of work. Make no mistake: this restaurant is small, and serves simple, traditional Mexican food. I came here with 7 co-workers for lunch and we pretty much took up the whole place(there were a couple more tables to spare). One co-worker grew up in Mexico City, and he authenticated the place. As another reviewer mentioned, the corn tortillas are fantastic! My Mexican co-worker actually bought a bag to go since he can’t make them any better. The corn tortilla chips are also very nice(and also available by the bag). So far, I have enjoyed the pollo flautas and the pastor lunch plate(served with the above mentioned soft tortillas). Two of my co-workers really liked the carnitas plate. I will definitely have to try out their tacos next.

Good food but I feel they are a little over priced. I also wonder if the people running the register understand math as the total is never what the menu price adds up to. I also loved it when they sold whole roasted chickens to go. Now they only sell plate :(

Please do your business a favor and talk to the girl you have taking orders. She is plain rude. The first time I was there a guy helped me and he was so nice. Chilaquiles and flautas are good, the gorditas not at all. The tortillas are way better than the ones from the supermarket but they’re slightly sweet.

I give crystal tortilleria 3 stars only because the tacos were good and consistently good but, sausage & egg breakfast plate eggs over cooked, hardly any sausage and beans are runny, also tatoes were greasy. Some consistency would be nice.

My partner and I tend to go here to get breakfast tacos to take home, as we only live a couple of blocks away. When we’ve eaten there, the service has been okay — not great, but not terrible. I love, love their tortillas — they’re made fresh in-house, and they’re the best tortillas I’ve ever had. Their breakfast tacos are also fantastic. I always get bacon, potato, and cheese(I don’t eat egg), and the bacon is among the best I’ve ever had. They’re a(relatively) new place, still, and so they do make some adjustments on their prices occasionally. The board is always up-to-date, but I’ve noticed some of the printed menus are not. My only real complaint(I don’t mind non-stellar service or non-updated menus, as long as the updated prices are listed elsewhere — like the board behind the register) is they only have two types of salsa, and both are too spicy for me. This is probably not a problem for anyone else that lives in Texas, but I can’t handle things that are too spicy — I’m a mild salsa kind of girl.
