My son is 12 and has been going here for a few years for multiple classes including their kids mma class! He loves it! They are very friendly and welcoming! Since he has been going, he has a better understanding of respect, great grades, can defend himself, all sorts of stuff! Is been nothing but good for us! They make class very enjoyable and fun during their training. It was something we just thought we would try and out ended up sticking! They let you check out the classes for free so don’t hesitate to come in and check it out!

I get bored with repetitive exercise, so I favor activities that involve variety, skill, and some strategy or thought. Knowing this, a friend of mine who used to do a little boxing and wanted to get back into it asked me to train with him at Vasquez Academy. The long and short of it is, the whole experience has been great. Rudy Vasquez has an excellent manner as a trainer and teacher. He looks at students individually, and is capable of training you whether your goals are about professional fighting aspirations, or just improving your fitness and learning an exciting skill. It’s common to see men and women, young and old, beginner to pro level in his classes. Instruction is well directed, structured, and balanced between fitness and skill. You’ll find that the teaching manner is comfortable, but still emphasizes accountability and motivation, as well as a refreshing bit of humor. I found it much easier to stick with this than any other exercise«program» that I’ve followed. I should also mention that while I appreciate some of the ritual and spiritual aspects of martial art, I am primarily interested in the practical aspects of it. Because of this, I’ve followed more of an MMA training track, learning a mix of Thai boxing, and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Due to Rudy Vasquez’s extensive experience(35 years among noted instructors and colleagues), he also sprinkles in some supplemental techniques that are derived from other disciplines when they are complementary to a skill you learn or show some aptitude for. I’ve had a lot of fun, lost 21 pounds(wife likes that one), gained some improved balance and skill, and genuinely enjoyed both the sport and art of Thai boxing and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, as well as the environment the Vasquez Academy creates for their training and instruction.
