Victor’s Training Studio

It’s Tuesday at 6pm, which means that I must head into the Bat Cave and workout. I park my car in the postage-​stamp lot in front of the grey warehouse, head in down the dark grass-​walled corridors of Be Aware Media’s tiki lounge inspired office décor, past offices and studios to the back of the building, where I take a left, then another left, and slide the giant metal warehouse door open to Victor’s lair… err, training studio. IT’S WORTH THE TRIP, boys and girls (all carping about décor – or lack thereof, aside), and the reason is Victor himself.
Victor looks like Jimmy Smits’s more muscular cousin and has a quiet, assured, and yet self-​effacing demeanor about him that is quite refreshing from other trainers that I’ve encountered. No lifting a greyhound bus on your first session or «We need to get you JUICED, bro!» here.
Instead, what you get with Victor is a detailed analysis of how to exercise correctly – proper form and how to tell when you’re doing it right, as well as how to tell when you’re overdoing it. Sure, if you want to get all muscled up, Victor can help you do that – but he’s much more concerned with making sure that you know HOW to exercise right, and how to hold yourself correctly throughout the day so that you don’t injure yourself.
What’s more, Victor makes the whole process FUN. Even on my worst days when I come into his studio with smoke coming out my ears, within a few minutes of arriving at Victor’s, I’m laughing and having a good time DESPITE the sweat stains forming on my shirt. Victor also works at Active Life Chiropractic as an exercise physiologist, so you get a REALLY GOOD stretching session as part of your workout. In short, Victor is THE MAN!!! He is a trainer who truly cares about each and every one of his clients. Victor goes beyond helping you get great muscle tone – he helps you get a great life.
