Walgreens

Came in after seeing something on their website was $ 10.49. I saw it was significantly more expensive in store (think 50% more), questioned them at the register and was very rudely told that they are charging a 50% up charge for the «convenience» of shopping in store. You must be joking. This is why Amazon is worth $ 175 BILLION. I can’t wait to see Walgreens out of business.

Awful experience at the drive thru window!!! Waited over 20 minutes just to pick up a prescription.

I don’t know why, but for being my neighborhood Walgreens, they are always either out of stuff or just aren’t as well stocked as other Walgreens.
Also, for some reason, regardless of time of day, the parking lot is ALWAYS a clusterf*ck here… there is no rhyme or reason, but even if there are 10 spots open, there is always someone blocking you.
There is ALWAYS as in ALWAYS a line, even if both cashiers are open… maybe it is just that popular. And fair warning, the clientele here are a bit on the «sketch» side.
The staff is ok, they will tell you where things are w/​o much attitude, which is more than I can say for some other stores.
Oh, and if you are going to the Redbox here… again, plan to wait in line. I don’t know what it is, but seriously, no matter what time of day I come, there is an inexplicable Redbox line and it always seems to be behind people who just can’t decide on what to rent, which is really frustrating for someone who just wants to return a movie. I kid you not, but I will drive all the way down Metric to the Walgreens off Parmer to return a movie because the lines can be that bad.
But, hey, when it’s the closest Walgreens to my place and I am in desperate need of Kleenex and Nyquil… well, proximity trumps all!

I find myself in here from time to time as it’s near my work and sometimes I need things like shitty wine, or overpriced generic medicine, or those headphones they have where the left ear stops working after a couple of weeks but I keep buying them because they’re only $ 5. You know the ones.
Walgreens is not the grandma you like — the one that stuffs you full of dessert and shoves money in your face and pretends you’re the greatest person alive. No. Walgreens is your OTHER grandma. The one whose food tastes a little ‘off’ and who is always cold and who tells you not to touch things in her house.
Don’t act like you ever liked your grandmas equally.
Everything in here is about $ 1.75 too expensive but I buy these things because when I’m in here, I get this strange, very dull sense of alarm that this might be my last chance to trade for goods before entering the wasteland. What is the wasteland? That like 1pm — 4pm stretch after lunch at work when time slows down and you start having serious concerns about your life choices. (Shouldn’t have killed that guy for no reason. Idea for next time: have a reason.)
You know what is creepy about Walgreens? Walk in to a Walgreens. Now walk into a different Walgreens.
IT’S THE FUCKING SAME MAN. It’s like a short circuit to Purgatory, only here they have a rewards card. Which sucks. I’ve had it for like two years and all I ever got were some coupons for panty liners. WHICH ARE ALREADY ONLY LIKE 75 CENTS ANYWAY. (Fun fact, when I was a kid, I thought it said ‘party liner’, like it was this plastic sheet you laid down before a party to collect all the trash at the end or something.)
On a final note, Walgreens, tell your employees to stop saying ‘Be Well’ at the end of checkout. It’s disingenuous, weird, and I feel like I’m in a bad commercial.
I’d rather hear ‘Hope you don’t get into a disfiguring accident’ or ‘Don’t drink all that cough syrup unless you have a really cool movie on first’ or just a real sincere ‘catch you on the flip side’, you know, like grandma used to say.

I just moved to the area and had to try our a new pharmacy. They didn’t have any of my prescriptions ready and the bathroom was alarmingly disgusting. I was in a 3^rd world contry recently with outdoor bathrooms and no electricity I would have rather used than this one. Went back to get my prescriptions and they still weren’t ready. 7 people in line and no one knew what was going on. The staff is lazy and couldn’t articulate a proper solution to the problems. I still don’t have my medications.

This is down the street from where I live and often on the way home from work, so I stop here quite a bit. I also fill my prescriptions at this particular Walgreens. The store itself isn’t bad. They have a variety of things such as drinks, snacks, candy, cosmetics to everything pharmacy (cold medicine etc.) This particular Walgreens also has a photo development counter.
My first maybe 3 times going there I always found someone standing at the photo counter complaining about something! I thought to myself, this Walgreens must not be that great. I continued to go because it’s in my neighborhood. I signed up for the Walgreens card since I go enough times. In the end that card will save you money. It doesn’t cost anything to sign up either.
Some of the employee’s seem to be friendly while others not so much. There is always the same gentlemen at the cashier counter when I go and he is quite friendly and will make a joke every now and then. However, when his line seems to get long no other employee’s ever seem to be around. I have found that I will go to the cosmetic or photo counter to check out sometimes because the normal check-​out line is out of control. The people at the prescription counter are friendly and helpful. I have only had good experiences with them.

I have to give these guys a shout. This store is located in Shooey’s Silver Radius (a mile from my office) and they have been my providers of desk-​snacks since my first week at this assignment. (OK, a mere four months, but still…) Their ‘Nice!’ snacks have helped me survive mundane hours upon mundane hours of telephone working, and it’s been… well, nice.
The staff is friendly, and actually fast. I’ve never had to wait very long, even with a lengthy queue. Even with a lengthy Jerry Springer-​people queue. The prices are pretty good, too. (I’m not cheap, I’m just frugal!) I give this place special kudos for my New Years Eve ‘champagne-​flavored alcoholic beverage’ that gave me celebratory joy for about $ 4 a bottle, and for enriching my life with the Lay’s unholy trinity of ‘Cheesy Garlic Bread’, ‘Chicken & Waffles’, and ‘Sriracha’ potato chips. So a star each for being fast, convenient, friendly, and cheap, and lose a star for still being Walgreen’s. As the four stars bespeak, from the bottom of my heart – Yay! I’m a fan.

Not a bad little drug store, as far as Wallgreenses go. This is right across the street from my work, and is indeed just about the only thing within walking distance of my work, so I am probably in here 3 or 4 times a week, if for no other reason than just killing time during lunch. The do offer a good range of canned coffee drinks, including the illy issimo ones, which are less sweet and indeed a bit better than the Starbucks kind. They are also usually well stocked on energy drinks for those long afternoons in the old cubicle. They do not, however, have ANY kind of unsweetened tea, which I consider to be ridiculous. Why is it so hard to sell one brand of unsweetened tea when you have like 30 varieties of sweet tea? Very unfortunate, says this fan of unsweetened tea.

The cosmetics people have always been really helpful. Today I was in there and an African american associate with blonde hair was openly freaking out about all the work she needed to do and how her manager was crazy for thinking it could all get done. Not the customer experience that id like.

Eh. You can go to Walgreens one day, get what you need, and make it out unscathed. Other days you will have to wait on line for a long torturous bit while the lone cashier checks folks out at 5:30pm. Why they’d have one person at that hour is beyond me. Don’t even try tracking down the person designated to the photo cashier area. The line will just get longer at that one cashier by the time you make your resigned way back to it.
However, as far as Walgreen’s go, this place is clean, alarmingly bright, and when you find staff, they can be helpful. I once went in to make a last attempt at finding red lipstick that made me look 1940’s, not 1970’s hooker. We walked over to the lipsticks and lo and behold: one that matched my skin-​tone-​appropriate nailpolish. And… it worked. So I say A-​ok. Hell, +1 star for the helpful pharmacist and there always being a L’oreal sale.
But –1 star because I took my passport photo here, the dude didn’t show it to me before printing it, and I looked crazy.
