Correction. Not open now. Drove from other side of north Austin because we were craving hotdogs and have really wanted to try it out for a while. Got there at 11:37 and it was closed. Still really want to try it but very disappointing to have it closed almost half an hour before posted times. In a nutshell don’t depend on them in your hour of need.

The employee at the window overcharged and when asked about the total was rude and irritated. More training needed, watch out, you will be over charged!

Okay, Okay, yes bad, very bad. But also sooo good. So good that it’s bad. Yes too many carbs, Yes, too many bad things, Yes, don’t do it often. Having said all that which you should know. Staff was very cordial and appreciative, perhaps they know, places like this are on the chopping block. Hot dog, pa-lease. With chili, sure. Onion, no problemo. Oh, BTW, can i tempt you with fries of the same, chili, cheese, more smeared in ruthless indulgence, okay sure. Don’t come here for anything other than pure and fleeting satisfaction.

Best dam chili dog in the world! I grew up fatten myself up on these delicious babies and they are a sinful little treat. I don’t do much off the menu pretty much chili dogs with onions. That’s pretty much it and my reccomandation

Flash back of my childhood in San Jose, California. Food is still the same(good) and cheap. The fries were a little bit salty but I love the chili and cheese on everything. Service was fast and the place is clean. I wish they would open one in Round Rock.

My husband and I came here for dinner and we didn’t look at the menu we just ordered as if we were back in California and that resulted in us not being able to get one of the items we wanted the staff was very pleasant and very nice and they fixed our mistake not theirs the food was delicious and we look forward to going back

I hadn’t been to a Wienerschnitzel since my childhood and I was feeling a little nostalgic when I discovered one in Austin. I was taking my children out for lunch and figured this would be a perfect time to reminisce over a hot dog from my youth. When we arrived, the line was moving extremely slow even though we were the third people in line(out of three). At one point the cook came out and said to the cashier, «I don’t need to be coming out here every five minutes! Who else doesn’t have their order?» Two men at a table said they had not been served yet. The cook returned to his post and our turn was next. The woman explained that she was brand new and apologized. No problem. She was very nice about it. We ordered the #5 and a kid’s bag with a mustard dog. The cook yelled, «Did you want mustard on that?» I said, «Yes, please.» Then I ordered a Chicago dog, a plain hot dog and a small fry. We sat down and when our number was called, my son grabbed the tray. Our small fry was missing and so was the chili burger from the #5. I went to get it and another woman was in front of me getting her order fixed. The employees seemed confused and the cook was not happy. The woman in front of me asked if the cook was the manager and the male employee said he(cook) was. The woman shook her head and said, «Sheesh!» I got my two items and sat back down. I unwrapped the«plain» dog to discover there was mustard on it. I went back to the counter and told them. The cook heard and said, «She said she wanted mustard on it!» Then he chucked it in the trash can and wrapped up a plain dog.(If you are keeping track, I had ordered one mustard dog and one plain dog; they both ended up with mustard. I had considered keeping it anyway but it was for an 11 month old.) Needless to say, this was an extremely uncomfortable experience and I couldn’t wait to leave. The manager seemed to be in a foul mood and was taking it out on the employees in front of the customers(and even getting on the customers.) That is very unprofessional. I can’t even say he had the excuse of a «lunch-rush» since the place was practically empty. I think it is best that this restaurant stays in the past for me!

Came here for a quick dinner as grad school kicked my behind that day. Service was sooo sloooow. I really don’t know what takes so long to put chili, cheese and a hot dog in a bun. Nevertheless the high caloric and sodium contents did not disappoint. The hot dog was legit good.

Every now and then I crave a dog from my childhood over in Southeast Texas… and every so often I need to fulfill it. Each time Wienerschnitzel was there. They may not claim to be the«world’s greatest» but they are consistent and as you remember when you were a kid. I filled my craving and look forward to having many more. glad you could still be here for me.

Probably the worst chili cheese dog I’ve ever had. I posted a photo of it. The way they package their dogs ensures that most of the stuff you pay extra for remains on the wrapping. Also, I paid for and ordered curly fries. They gave me, seriously, a cup full of regular old fries. Fugggg this place and its weiners!

Best of the Worst: I am not a big fan of chain food … but Wienerschnitzel is an exception. I LOVE their dogs, so much like chili smothered Vienna Sausages, it is a spiritual experience. My buddy and I were driving by when we saw it and just had to stop. I got the double chili dog combo, with chili fries. he got the«I’m a dip stick» meal with a large fries, a hamburger, and a hot dog… He took a bit of the burger and looked over at me(he was close to tears) «Dude, punch me in the face if I ever think about ordered a burger here again.» Hamburgers suck at the wiener … don’t get them. I had forgotten about the Revenge of the Wiener … the food fights to get out, and takes everything else with it on a «Rapid Ride» I have visited the toilet a number of times since, and it doesn’t feel like it has finished kicking, clawing, and screaming to get out … it may be a little while before I am able to go back to Wienerschnitzel, but it was SO worth it.

Well. Im rating this on FEEDBACK I recevied but I promised the employee running the show there that I was«so going to Unilocal this place» because… apparently their boss SUCKS! Its like 10:30 @ night, and employee comes over to the drive thru window and says«Im sorry, I dont mean to just stand in the window, your food is on its way, but I need to steal some air!». I was like huh., «its all good». Employee says, «inside closed a little while ago and the manager turns off the a/c since the inside is closed, and its HOT in here!– and we cant leave open any kind of window or door, so Im sorry, Im just really hot right now». WELL, when I tell employee«Id have been complained!» and a few other choice words, employee says, «oh. I cant. You complain around here and you get your hours cut». Manager says«its store policy». You have GOT to be kidding me. I said«so yall are in there cookin dogs, and fryin fries in THIS heat, with no air circulating?» When I said I was going to Unilocal them, and maybe even put in a fun call to their HQ, employee says«please do!». So as super plesant as this employee was, and they were rockin friendly, sounds like this manager doesnt give 2 craps about their employees… Whats up with that?

Like the guy who took my order today, I too was once a shift leader at a fast food joint, back when I «took a semester off to focus on the band.» I know the position doesn’t come with the kind of pay to magically transform one into«The World’s Top Gregarious Hot Dog Evangelist,» but between his bumbling vacant manner and the absence of even the slightest pleasantry I found myself almost too depressed to eat by the time I got my change and receipt. Maybe the zombie-like customer service spoiled the mood, but my Chili Cheese Dog just didn’t taste like the decadent indulgence I remembered it being. Given the level of enthusiasm I encountered today I can’t help but wonder why they bothered re-opening this location. Shrug.

Wienerschnitzel is the greatest! That is, if you like the best tasting, bottom-of-the-barrel food groups. On the scale of fine-dining, this is the bottom rung, as low as you can possibly get to just garbage. And it’s delicious! I LOVE the chili dogs and but REALLYLOVE the corn dogs. The crunch, sweet cornbread wrapping up that tasty little hot dog center. Coat that dog in copious amounts of mustard and, oh baby! Now that’s good stuff! A word of warning to those who don’t seem to «get it.» This isn’t a fine dining restaurant. This is a get-three-thousand-calories-for-$ 5 restaurant and every meal comes with a solid helping of fat. So if you are looking for fancy schmantzy, take your confused chili-dog needs elsewhere. This ain’t the place for you. But if you want a chili-covered, simple o’ dirty dog, come on in! This dog just can’t be beat! Couple of random facts: The corn dogs are made from chicken. They offer beef dogs for those who don’t eat pork.

I am not even a hot dog lover or eater. I do love the Tasty Freeze though. My husband likes hot dogs. Tonight, the staff member gave our beagles 2 wieners… That is why she and this place gets the five stars! My beagles were in hog dog heaven. Any place that will provide your dogs with treats gets high marks in my book. They were refrigerated weenies, but how thoughtful was that awesome drive through lady to give my boys an unexpected surprise! Dogs for the dogs, rather than dog eat dog??? I love it!

Oh jeez. I was seduced by the low cost items during lunch. I get ½ an hour and I needed something fast and cheap. I whizzed into Wiernerneveragain and I ordered a chili dog. I mean, that’s why you go there right? How could they get a dog wrong when WIENER is in their name? So, I pay for my order and whip back to work. I run upstairs, get to my desk, clock-in. MMM, time for lunch. I take one bite and I want to punch myself in the side of the head for going here. I hate the chili. It tastes so watered down and bland. WAHHHHHHHHHH! never never ever again.
