I’m sure most of us have been to Catalina at least once if you have lived in the surrounding areas. If not then too bad so sad your not really missing too much! Coming here is fun and relaxing but if your a water rat like me when you DO come your in the water, on the water, or doing some sort of water activity or at least I am. That being said I am covered from the rudda-to-the-tudda in salt water after I emerge from the Pacific. If your NOT renting a house, apt or hotel room then your probably going to want to wash off that Pacific funk that is covering your entire body like a salty blanket. This is where the Catalina Public Showers comes in. They are located near and across from Descanso Beach which is that little idty-bity strip of beach you need to walk pass to get to the Casino. Pretty easy to find and there is a couple signs as well. Just walk passed the little down town area until you get to the teeny-tiny beach then start looking for the public showers. This place is a CASHCOW! What an AWESOME idea to generate moola on the island! Unless you want to stay all salty and nasty then your a captive audience until your boat leaves! So why NOT take a shower. So here the 411: All prices and items are posted at the showers! CASHONLY and it cost about $ 3 a for a 5 min shower. The prices and times might have changed with the drought so come PREPARED. You can BUY just about everything you will need for a shower such as towel, shampoo, conditioner, soap, razors, deodorant, lotion, comb, brush, etc. So come prepared to JUSTSHOWER and bring all your OWN toiletries or you’ll spend a small fortune here just trying to get clean.
