Should have read some of the reviews before we went. The place is dirty, but getting past that, the food is mediocre at best. We went for breakfast. Food was served on cheap paper plates that seems to be biodegradable but that isn’t what you want when it starts falling apart before you finish your meal! $ 80.00 for the four of us for breakfast. Way overpriced and definitely not worth it.

This place is amazing! But we may be biased. We’re visiting for our first time and from being here we’ve made friends with Patrick, the best bartender and Erin! If you want to feel like you’re living like the locals, this is the place to do it! Such a laid back place! Come here if you have a personality!

There was nothing special about this restaurant. You order your food inside then seat yourself if you can find a table. The tables are so close together you can’t even navigate through the deck area. As for the food it is not worth the wait. We waited 30 mins for some bacon and eggs. Ridiculous! Not recommended!

Disappointing. It’s food you can make in your own kitchen, but you’ll probably be using better ingredients. My tuna melt was lackluster, and the casino dock sandwich used completely brown, processed and ancient-looking pieces of «roast beef.» The fries are crinkle cut frozen, and must be ordered separately alongside the already overpriced sandwiches. Incongruously, the extremely simple food took a VERY long time to come out of the«ktichen.» The view is nice, and there was live music(guy on guitar with recorded back up band), so it might suffice as a spot to get a drink, but definitely skip it if you plan on eating. Also, sit at a distance from the speakers if you want to have a conversation… we were close to the musician and we had to strain to hear one another over the music.

Food is good but the soft drinks are a rip off. The cups are small and full of ice even though I ask for little ice. Refills are a dollar. Stick with free water. Split the breakfast burrito since their e a lot of egg, potato, etc. Half of one and half a burger is just right. Great place to watch to boats and locals greeting each other.

I had a fish taco at the Casino Dock Café that was wonderful. The fish tasted so fresh that I was surprised I had not seen them catch it just as I got there. The seating was outdoors and had a fabulous view of the ocean and the city.

Hurray to the staff here for amazing service given the crazy amount of people in our group! Thank you for being super friendly and accommodating! The food is ok but the service is great! The fiancé and I came here for a work event and enjoyed the cheeseburgers, hot dogs, and potato salad. They met the standards for a large scale group and were fast and efficient which was key since we wanted to head out to play in the water.

Pretty good fare, and reasonable prices… a ok. People there were very nice. You order inside, and they bring your food out to you. Selection is good. The spot is nice since it overlooks the harbor, and they have a full bar outside.

It’s…okay. The waitress gave different recommendations when each of my friends asked her«Whats the popular item here?» Anyway, the food is a bit overpriced for what you get… for example, the Window sandwich and the roast beef sandwich was literally just two pieces of regular bread, toasted with butter and a few slices of meat tucked in. I feel like it was something I could have made on my own. I got the fruit with cottage cheese. Once again, overpriced, and the cantaloupe had a soapy detergent taste which made me wonder what they do to their ingredients. Hope I don’t get cancer. I gave it 2 stars instead of 1 since I’m assuming food expectations should be kept low while on the island(or so I heard)…in normal world terms, this is definitely a 1 star.

One of my favorite places to hang out during the day when we visited. Listening to live music, dancing, jumping off the dock into the cool water, and drinking a delicious buffalo milk from Pedro. Hungry, order up. Ultimate vacation mode.

We got some food here at about 2:30 in the afternoon on Sunday. Food was just okay location is perfect. They were setting up the band for some live music which was really nice. Typical Avalon prices typical Avalon food nothing to write home about. I guess the only reason why I’m putting a review here is that the servers and those taking our order order were pretty surly. You got the feeling that you were more of a bother than a benefit to their business. They did refill our ice teas to go though.

Bland food, incredibly bad service. We had gotten in just a few minutes before breakfast ended, so they said no more breakfast. That’s fine and I expected as much being so close to the deadline, except that they were still cooking breakfast and apparently had nothing ready for lunch. We wait 35 minutes for bland cold food. All that for 2 tortas. It’s so windy sitting outside that everything tends to blow over.

This is not a full service restaurant, go in there expecting that, and you’ll love it. Just a quick beachy lunch stop. Food is decent, but the real draw is sunning yourself by the water as you eat. All the seating is outdoors and they have a full bar as well. I loved watching the fish swim by as I noshed on my sandwich. It’s also a good pit stop while you are waiting for the casino tour to start.

I give this a five star review. WHY? Because I like locals playing great music and it is free on weekends late afternoons with a great view and great drinks! No where else in sleepy Avalon can you find this. Food…who cares… I want rock and I want it now!!! Out))))

This place came very highly recommended by the girl at the information booth as we were heading towards the Descanso Beach club for lunch. She said the dock café had the best food. We took her advice but should’ve paid attention to the red flags. The place was filthy and I could tell the fryers hadn’t been cleaned in a long time. Inside smelled like old fry oil. We got two burgers, fries, and cokes $ 23. The burgers patties were the frozen, bulk, pink-slime special that you get from a megamart = greasy, thin, flavorless, and rubbery. The fries were from a frozen Orida bag. The ketchup was the highlight of the meal because it masked the nastiness of it all. The Mrs. joked that the info girl looked like the server girl & that they may be related. BTW, the Descanso burgers are half pounders $ 15 which my wife & I could split, and it has a better bar, better view, and better service.

Sorry, I have to laugh at the 5 star reviews regarding the food. I recently attended with a party of 9 after traversing the island for lunch, and we all walked away with the same feeling: bland and«meh». In no particular order: — Grilled cheese sandwich… the cheese wasn’t even totally melted. Seriously, it’s two ingredients… cheese and bread, and they couldn’t even melt the cheese. — Ortega Chicken Sandwich(mine) — small white breast cutlet, with a slice of ortega chili, ½ melted slice of cheese, on grilled bread. And 4 slices of hamburger pickles on the side(not even a real dill wedge slice) for $ 5.95. I think fries were $ 2 extra. — Friend of mine did get the fries: totally tell they were the frozen bulk kind from the grocery store freezer section. Internal texture was mush. — Nachos… Bland. How do you screw up nachos? They had NO flavor, although I will give them credit for the portion size… that was the most generous item for the price of everyones order. — Fish & Chips… also decent portion and served hot, and crisp… but no flavor. Okay, so on the plus side I will say this: — Nice location. Away from the main drag, near the casino, and large open patio section on the water front. I’ll agree with other… views are nice. — Employees seem nice enough, especially the bartender. — Outside bar is a full bar with plenty of fun drinks and ‘party’ like atmosphere. This is a place to stop if you want to drink and soak up the sun with your friends… NOT a place to eat for what they charge. The food is on par with an elementary school cafeteria.

The food is okay, if you like greasy spoon, and a bit overpriced. The sign says they serve breakfast till 11am, but in truth they stop serving it whenever they want to, which could mean five minutes before that. No exceptions. The service is HORRIBLE! The girls are completely rude and slow to help. They forget who ordered what, and are rude when they make mistakes. I heard they are daughters of a manager, so they know they have a job, no matter how poorly they treat the customers.

I felt it was a bit overpriced for okay breakfast food. AND the coffee was a bit watered down. I had ordered the breakfast sandwich consisting toasted sourdough, egg, and sausage patties. It came with a small salsa side. I think I could have made a better sandwich at home.

Seriously this is the local spot. Hang out here and you will run into several locals who come here to hide out and enjoy the sun. The food is delicious, between their amazing fish and chips to their chicken torta you have a wide choice of food which makes it easier to go with a group of friends and have everyone be satisfied. Pedro’s bar serves up a wide variety of adult beverages including the infamous Buffalos Milk which he makes with fresh bananas. I love the Grand Master too, since that doesn’t have any banana(yes. I’m not a fan) but has all the alcohol and you really don’t know you’re consuming a large quantity of alcohol until you stand up… On the weekends they have bands play and while I was there it was Rick’s Fabulous 7… and they were FABULOUS. It’s great to sit out and enjoy some good music, with food, drink and lots of sunshine. I’ll definitely be coming back again and again when I visit Catalina.

Five stars for the fish tacos and view. If I could, I would give the service a negative review. They are so concerned with rotating the tables that in her rush to clear the table, the waitress spilled salsa all over my father’s pants as well as my mother’s white pants and blouse. After glancing down at the damage the waitress left without so much as an «I’m sorry.» The management was equally uncaring. After my mother complained to the manager he begrudgingly refunded the $ 10 for her dish(won’t even cover the dry cleaning), while mumbling, «it’s not right.» A sincere apology would have been sufficient but was not forthcoming. Bottom line: good food with a view but lack of customer service strongly reflects a «churn» management style focused on short-term profits.
