I highly recommend Coyote Joe’s! I come here every time I am on the island, it’s a definite MUST. They have amazing drinks and great food. Their Killer Quesadilla is one of my favorites. If you are looking for a cool, relaxed, and fun environment this is definitely the spot to be!

WILE E COYOTECOCKTAIL is the Catalina house drink! It was created here & if you love a good drink it’s here! Buffalo milk is obviously great! And the food is spectacular

Worst food and slowest service. Half way into our meal, someone decided to blast the radio so loud that it was distorted through the speakers. Skip this place when you visit the island.

We stopped in here on New Year’s Eve for a bite to eat since we were staying down the street. The restaurant was not that big, but only had one waiter working. The poor guy was clearly swamped, but was very sweet and alway smiling. However, the food was so-so. I had a quesadilla and it tasted like something you might eat in a high school cafeteria. The rice was either way overcooked or sitting out too long, two of us tried it and couldn’t figure out which it was. Our drinks were good though and reasonably priced for happy hour. We might come back for happy hour, but we probably won’t come back to eat.

This place has awful customer service! While I appreciate the fact that this restaurant stayed open past 5:00(when almost everything else shut down) it was still a terrible experience. Our waitress was extremely slow, and rude. As we received our separate checks I noticed that she had charged me for a bottled water that I didn’t order. When I showed her the error, she responded«well it’s only .50 cent» instead of apologizing and immediately fixing the error. As we waited for her to bring back our change, she stopped to have a chat with a few locals about chocolate covered candy while we watched her carelessly take her time. As for the food, it was just food. Nothing spectacular.

Eh. Ok. First impression suffered when we waited a while and had to ask just to get a menu, it wasn’t that busy. Another couple just left after waiting for a menu too. The food was«ok» nothing terribly unique on the menu and the taste/quality was also just«ok.» It would have benefited from a few creative salad options.

I’d give it zero stars if I could. Worst service ever. So slow we had to walk out. One girl serving the entire restaurant. People sending back their food all around us. I’ll never go back.

It’s decent per my 9 year old. The salsa & chips are just ok. It’s located near the water but you can’t see it from the restaurant.

Came a few weeks ago. Food was mediocre– but they did have a special on Modelos for $ 3, so that it was made me give it 3 stars. Service wasn’t the best the waitress kept forgetting waters-beers-drinks and food.

We were walking around Avalon and decided to try this place which is right off the main street. Not very good to be truthful. Service was slow and the food just mediocre. Adding to this was the constant presence of flys. I mean flys everywhere! To add to this the ice tea had a metallic taste. Needless to say I will not return.

My husband and I were looking for a Mexican place to have breakfast and the first two places we went to didn’t open till 11:00 and we needed to catch the boat at 11:30. We decided to walk into Coyote Joe’s and were very happy to see they served Mexican food for breakfast. We were greater right away by the friendliest server, she asked what we wanted to drink and brought our drinks out right away. We looked over the menu and made our selections and there she was taking our order. The food came out fast and was delicious. This place has good food, good drinks and excellent service!

We had breakfast twice at Coyote Joes and loved it both times! Israel was so sweet and wonderful and the food was superb! We look forward to returning to Catalina Island and enjoying this place again!

This place is terrible. There is nothing authentic about it. The best thing about it is that it has a patio so that when the bad food comes out your not immediately nauseated by its smell. Terrible service, they got our order wrong twice for two different people. And offered 20 percent off only to not apply it. It was only when I asked to apply it that it was but only after he rudely accepted. THISPLACEISTERRIBLE.

Loved this place, came here for breakfast. I ordered the eggs and chorizo with beans. Definitely one of the better restaurants in Catalina. My boyfriend and I visited the island this past weekend and didn’t like many of the restaurants we ate at, I’d definitely recommend this one though, and their micheladas are huge and delicious!

Absolutely disgusting. We just grabbed breakfast here because the other restaurants were full. And it is really really bad. I have the Machaca and potatoes and the potatoes taste like they were cooked yesterday, frozen, and halfway reheated. I can only speak for the breakfast, but I recommend you avoid this place.

I recently went to this place and wow what a difference from before. This place is under new management and I can tell you they care about everything. From well poured drinks to great times and good food, they are trying to make everything better to all that enjoy this great little restaurant. The new owner Ron and his son Hugh are making sure that everything is in order and offer specials and fun its seems on every occasion. The chicken wings were delicious as were the nachos. The bartender Andres was attentive and also poured spectacular drinks the whole night. We were planning to just swing by for an appetizer and a drink and ended up closing the place. What a great time to be had at Coyote Joes. We will definitely be back. Thank you for the most memorable time we had on the island! Your review helps others learn about great local businesses. We were very hungry after a full day of activity on Catalina Island. And even with a hungry stomach, the food did not taste good… The chicken in my chicken fajita was very dry, bland and rough. The dish did not have any flavors and was super mediocre. I think I can make a much better dish at home. And the dish was not cheap either. However, the servers were friendly and the restaurant was a typical Mexican feel. But I would not go back for more food…

Some of the best service we’ve had all day. Friendly and welcoming waiter made our dinner much better. The food is reasonably priced, with a good variety of Mexican-American food. I enjoyed my wet burrito, asked for light rice because I knew they would load it up with rice instead of chicken.
