Maybe order anything but the dollar tacos. Ordered payed, and somehow our tacos were done before we finished paying… Cold tortillas and cold meat. Salsa has a kick though.

4 Stars for the 3 $ happy hour margaritas! But as far as the food goes 3 stars. I got a veggie taco which was good but extremely salty. The margaritas were great so come at happy hour for those because I believe they are around $ 7 full price which would not be worth it. Their happy hour however was good. The meat taco was good as well and their salsa was a good touch. The woman who took our order was very sweet and kind when I asked for an extra salsa.

Ordered a carne asada burrito, got a bean instead. All beans with very little meat. Will not eat here again!

Loved this spot! My family and i visited from National city located just just 20 min from the mexican border and the smell coming from pete’s was amazing! We enjoyed the homey feel and authentic food. Happy hour had $ 1 tacos and my piña colada was delicious!

Pros: — Nearby shuttle/trolley stop and where they sell/meet for some of the tours and such –Gave us fries we didn’t order -$ 1 taco happy hour.(Did not come back to try it, because we tried Sand Trap’s $ 1 taco happy hour, instead. Sand Trap’s $ 1 was just okay.) Cons: — Bland meat patty on my patty melt — Did not give me an itemized bill — Did not really have suggestions when I asked what was good. When I pried a little more, named half the menu(mainly the Mexican half. I should have listened, because the American half was boring) — Seating is all outdoors(it was sprinkling) — No free refills on their drinks. Their drinks are pricey, at $ 3.

My party of 6 wanted some cheap eats and saw this stand that had a sign that showed that their happy hour included $ 1 tacos between 3 – 7. We ordered about 3 dozen tacos. They were good. Their happy hour included beer and margaritas as well. We left satisfied and actually went there the very next day for some more. The workers were all friendly and remembered us from the day before.

I was happy to try something local, but to my surprise, I left disappointed. The staff was incompetent and the food was not tasty. The guy at the counter over charged me, the taco meat was cold, and the buffalo burger was not very good. I tried ordering something else, to give them the benefit of a doubt. That was a mistake. The carnitas tacos were worse than the asada tacos. When the tortilla is tastier than the meat, that says something. Their fries were the better thing I tried. I’m not trying to be rude, it’s just that they can try harder than that. I’m not expecting the best food in the world, but local places like these are the ones that tow the line when other restaurants fail. The local simple places are typically the dependable hero to resort to. I wouldn’t write something like this ever, unless it made a bad impression. Until they improve, I would not recommend this place.

What you see is what you get. What you may not see is the men who work here and continually step out to blow their cigarette smoke on you while you eat.

This Mexican taco stand food is delicious. Their meats are so authentic. We ordered their chicken tacos and carne asada quesadillas. Both are so tasty.

This is a unique course that is challenging and well thought out. A lot of fun! A cat seemed to follow us around while we played and acted like it was all normal for him. The wife won again having the high score. Friendly staff and close in location is a big plus. Thanks for a great diversion from cruising

Prelims: a shack in the middle of Avalon, it’s an outdoor area where you can get a wide variety of food, like carne asada tacos, burgers, fries, etc. All the seating is outdoors, and the service is rather quick. You can stand there and awkwardly stare at him making your food, or you can sit in one of the plastic tables and chairs and wait for them to shout your name or number. Parking is a non-issue because you can’t bring your car on vacation lol. I ordered the carne asada tacos — you can get these for a dollar each from 3−7pm. They were the street tacos that you can have anywhere in southern California, and they were, at best, average. The taco meat was tasty, but not the greatest — what killed it for me was that there was the bare minimum of meat on it that one could get away with. I ordered 9 tacos — 5 for me and 4 for the missus. After we ate the food, we stared at each other and we both agreed that we could have eaten double! The salsa is very good but über spicy, so take care if you can handle the heat. I would recommend if you were drunk and/or hung over, and a lot of the locals seems to frequent this place, but if you were looking for something nice for inexpensive price, maybe lowered expectations are in order. TL;DR Average tacos at an outstanding price.

We knew we had to eat here at least once during our trip because no one can beat $ 1 taco happy hour! It is from 3−7pm everyday(including weekends)! 5-stars for amazingly great price for okay tacos! I got the carne asada and it was okay. This place is in the middle of a park and it has plenty of seating and if you can’t snag a spot, the park has many benches. You can even grab your food to go and eat at the beach or you hotel! We will be back! Warning: the salsa is super, super spicy!

Very easy to order, friendly people, outside environment is great. my food came very fast, I picked it up at the front. My buffalo burger was great. you have to order fries on the sides though. Overall my food was great and you get what you pay for. One of the best burger joints on the island.

Awesome spot for a midnight snack. The food is nothing special, but it’s kinda just what you want when nothing else is open and you’re a bit drunk. The burger was actually great. We were pleasantly surprised by that. The fries were standard. Hit the spot, but not amazing. The milkshake didn’t have much flavor and was kinda watery. I attribute that to the quality of ice cream. Little hint: the island has no good ice cream. It’s all Dreyers and it’s such a shame. Anyway, the place is overpriced, but I’m thankful it exists. I would go back. Mo sigh snacks are too delicious to turn down. Just wouldn’t get anything ice cream ish.

We were a group of six looking for a bite to eat. They were very rude. Acted like they did not want our business. We always thought it really smelled good and had a good local crowd, but we won’t be back. Rude behavior isn’t acceptable, we own a place. It isn’t tolerated.

We had the chorizo breakfast burrito and bacon and egg breakfast burrito. They were huge and tasty and cooked quickly. Not too greasy considering the meats we chose to accompany the eggs. Came with sour cream and salsa on the side. Only complaint: the prices. Seriously. $ 10 for each burrito??? We paid over $ 20 for amounts to a few slices of bacon, a chunk of chorizo, a handful of eggs and two tortillas. I could have made breakfast burritos all week long for what we paid! Ugh! It was yummy though and at least I didn’t have to make it myself. I would get food from Pete’s again because I’m a HUGE sucker every time I go on vacation.

Good, if greasy, food, with the longest hours around, especially in the winter. Mexican food and diner/café food like burgers. They also have ice cream. I wanted a coffee shake and the guy was a good sport and made me a vanilla shake and added coffee. Asada plate was huge, torta was good, burritos were good, and tacos were good – more or less taco truck food at an outdoor café. They have some beer, too, which appears to be e official drink of Avalon. This place is usually pretty full at night, even into the late hours.
