Best cream donuts on the planet. Worth every minute in line and every penny spent. Staff works hard, they’re really nice and the treats are awesome. Don’t miss this place during your stay!

OMG! This is my weakness! These are the best donuts I have ever had! The crème filled ones melt in your mouth! So yummy!

This may have already been said but perhaps worth repeating. Best cream donut vet? Well, yes, maybe, probably. A loyalist since childhood to the McMillan cream donut from Collingswood, NJ, I felt compelled to rule this one a distant second. But after wolfing down one fresh this morning I cannot do that. It was ridiculously divine. Grabbed a few crullers and croissants also. I’d say this is a mandatory stop if you are in town for more than 24 hours.

Hands down the best bakery in Southern NJ! And maybe even in the entire U.S. I used to live in Avalon in the off-season and would pop in for a treat when they opened for the season. I just wish they were open year round, although my thighs are thanking me! The buns are yummy — my favorite are the crumb buns. When the season hits peak you must get there at least 30 mins before they open because the line starts to form super early. I recently ordered a couple dozen crumb buns to my apt in Philly and was a bit apprehensive of how they would arrive as UPS tosses around boxes to the 100+ tenants in my building. Colleen and Kate did a phenomenal job in packaging them up — they were in top notch shape and I’m so impressed! If you have doubts of ordering and having your product shipped, you have nothing to worry about! They are beyond perfect! Not to mention they included a handwritten thank you note in my package — I love small businesses, such a personal touch! I recommend shipping your treats to your loved ones any time. This bakery is the best!

In my humble opinion at any rate, Kohler’s is the best bakery in the world! You will not find a better cream-filled donut anywhere on the planet, although Nellie’s Supermarket bakery in East Berlin tries to compete a bit on that one I will say. And that’s about all I have to say, except get there early people! As there are lines here for Pete’s sake!!! I love you Kohler’s, and thanks for still being with all of your fans in Avalon. Just wish you were in Coney Island too perhaps, but other than that, Kohler’s is a superb family-grown bakery which always tried to please the Conner family, including my father who is no longer with us. In one of Dad’s last years, when he could no longer arrive at Avalon in person, I sent my parents some of their favorite baked goods, among them the iced almond coffee cake(shipped out by me then from the Avalon P.O., since at that time Kohler’s was not yet offering to ship their goods), and they were thrilled of course too. ;-)

We have been coming to Avalon for a week every summer for the last 47 years. Kohlers is now a part if our ritual because we love so many things they make. My personal favorite is the crumb cake. Get there early and remember that they open 7 days a week in mid-June.

The best doughnuts on the island. Prices are quite good here. The line is long at peak times but keeps moving. They also make amazing cakes. My favorite is the cream filled doughnuts although everything else I have had there had been delicious as well. Highly recommend, I stop by whenever in town.

Stopped by for our annual family doughnut fix. The cream doughnuts were my family’s favorite, but there was a little too much cream in them for my taste. The jelly were my favorite. We also had the crumb cake and glazed doughnuts, both of which were good, but the crumb cake was a bit doughy. This is a real deal bakery.

Good donuts, offer both strawberry and raspberry flavor jelly. Creams were also good. All donuts weren’t huge, so made it nice to try different ones. No regular glazed, but chocolate or vanilla frosted of crullers. Can be very crowded in the summer, but go in and grab your number and just peek to see how far along they are. All of the workers were fast and friendly.

The best donuts I’ve ever had! The cream donut is a perfect, also the jelly and chocolate cruller. I’ve tried many other donut spots across the country to find one that matches Kohler’s, but to no avail.

«I don’t eat sweet, fried dough food, BUT I will indulge in Kohler’s cream filled donuts! Whether its tradition, being on vacation or simply they are extremely delicious. Part of the draw is standing in line after picking my ticket and seeing there are 25 customer…»

Decent donuts and what-not. The cream-filleds, jellies, and powders are my favorite. They didn’t have much else when I was there. Luckily, we went at a not so busy time(930am, Tuesday). Unrelated observation: I felt like I walked into Santa’s workshop at the North Pole. Kids ran this place.
Packed from the moment it opens. Amazing cream puff donuts… sticky buns… pretty much everything. A shore institution and a must try if you are in Avalon or Stone Harbor. My family has a house in Stone Harbor and the short drive down is certainly worth it over the other option in da Harbor. Might be cash only, I can’t remember… just be prepared.

Kohler’s makes the best cream donuts I’ve ever had. They are 95 cents each and maybe the most addicting food you’ll ever taste. Also fantastic are the blueberry donuts, jelly donuts, and cinnamon buns. Never tried the cupcakes, but they look good too. Bottom line, go for the cream donuts! They almost have a marshmallow taste to them.
