Went here for one of the best meals I’ve had yet in Miami. The service was incredible and everyone was extremely attentive to our tables needs. I had the octopus followed by the squid ink pasta– both amazing. If you’re looking for large portions, this is not the place. They are the perfect amount for any appetite. Can’t wait to go back and enjoy try other dishes.

Delicious dinner! We started with the tuna tartare with avocado which was fresh and creamy. We then shared the veal Parmesan and the beef short rib lasagna yum! For dessert do not miss out on their signature sundae drizzled with salted caramel.

The good here is excellent. I ate here 4 times in one weekend twice for breakfast, once for lunch and once for dinner. I was at a conference at the hotel and didn’t want to leave the premises. The staff: The hostess was very slow. She was too busy on the phone to seat us. The waitstaff at dinner was excellent we had two servers attending to our table and they were on top of refilling water and clearing plates. However during the breakfast and lunch times we waited nearly 15min for a menu and another 20minutes for a sandwich. The restaurant wasn’t very busy at this time so there’s really no excuse The food: The food is excellent but be warned it’s small portions compared to other restaurants. We had the eggplant appetizer which was very tasty however it appeared to be one piece of rolled eggplant. We also had the frito misto which is a fancy term for fried calamari with a spicy mayo which was also great and was a good size portion. We had two pastas the duck and the broccoli rabe and sausage. I found the duck to be a little rich for my taste. The portions were so small my boyfriend ended up eating both of our dinners plus the appetizers and was still hungry. The prices: It’s a bit pricey for the amount of food you get however the quality of the food is high. Also tip is already added to the bill you should be aware of that because they don’t mention it. The view: This restaurant has a large terrace and glass doors that face several waterfalls on the golf course. It’s a peaceful view.

Menu was not creative, selections mimicked a typical In Room Dining menu. Food was okay, definitely not worth the price.

I stand by many of the observations in my first review, but some updates are necessary. On my first visit I was seeing several service hiccups. On a visit this week service was excellent. Host station was very welcoming(huge difference!), there were lots of greetings on the way to the table, and our server Leopold was excellent(I learned he’d previously been at sister restaurant Scarpetta, where service is excellent, so no wonder!). Extra surprise: Scott Conant was in the house in person, and came by to say hello. This is nice not just because of the PR/service angle, but it shows that there is actual face time and oversight in the kitchen. Hopefully the vastly improved service on this visit can survive his absence when he’s home in NYC. The other noteworthy development: comparing my posted picture of the dinner menu from the 12⁄2014 opening with the current 9⁄2015 one, I’m seeing that the pricing is now much more realistic. The opening prices were too high, and I’m glad to see they’ve been adjusted, but I would love to see pastas priced below $ 20 and some events or wine dinners in order to be a more regular guest(Scarpetta seems to have more such events, and I’m hoping Corsair will follow this lead).

August and September in Miami means it is time for Miami Spice. The culinary creation from veteran restaurateur Steven Hass gives South Floridians the opportunity to sample some of finest dining the area offers. It is great way to sample dishes that are usually very expensive at a more reasonable price of $ 39 per person for dinner. It was a Monday evening when my wife and I visited Corsair by Scott Conant. The place was unexpectedly empty except for two other couples and a larger party in a semi-private room. The open kitchen and bright, simple design of the room made for a welcome experience. It was still light when we arrived and a glance towards the outside offered a spectacular view of the perfectly manicured Turnberry golf course. There was outside dining available, but the humidity and threatening skies made it an easy decision to keep it inside. We began with cocktails. We ordered a classic Pimms Cup and one of their signature cocktails, the 6th Borough. The Pimms Cup was refreshing. The 6th Borough was their take on a Manhattan on the rocks. It was sweet, but delicious. Our waitstaff very quickly brought over two different selections of bread. The first was a delicious focaccia bread and the second was a light airy roll. Both were very tasty with just a hint of salt. We did tell our server that we’d be interested in wine with dinner, but he never came back to check on us until midway through the main course. By that time, we were past the wine. Service was nice, but on a slow Monday, the staff seemed more interested in the football game on the tv in the bar area. The Spice menu offered items that are both on their regular menu as well as several options only available especially for the two-month-long Spice event. I began with Eggplant Parmigiana and my wife had the Polenta with sausage and porcini mushroom ragu. The eggplant was very well done with a crispy breading, tangy tomato and fresh mozzarella. But the absolute star of the evening was the polenta. It was served like a stew. The silky polenta was divine. It was topped with a perfectly portioned amount of sausage and porcini ragu. The creaminess of the polenta was a nice compliment to the bits of crumbled sausage. For entrees we chose the Scottish Salmon and the Squid Ink Campanelle. The salmon had a deliciously crunchy skin and sat upon a tasty scallion salsa verde. It was served with asparagus and charred baby kale. The squid ink pasta dish, with delectable morsels of clams, mussels and calamari, tasted like the sea. It was an Italian seafood extravaganza surely inspired from Venice. For dessert our choices were a milk chocolate budino and a brown sugar cake. The budino was a must for chocolate lovers. It was rich like a custard and very filling. But, the brown sugar cake was our favorite. It was served warm with a hint of blueberry and topped with buttermilk ice cream. It was a perfect end to a wonderful meal. One other thing to note-there are no bathrooms inside of the restaurant. You have to walk outside of the restaurant, up a few stairs and down an outdoor hallway to use the restroom. Valet parking only, with restaurant validation $ 8.

This is a short lunch review at the bar after a round of Golf at the Turnberry Golf & Country Club. Very nice redesign of the previous place that stood here with every modern fixture updated, new bar area and much better views overlooking this spectacular golf course facility. Decided to grab a few cold ones and sit at the bar on this blistering day… Tap Beer was OUT and could not fix the tap so we went with the standard Ice Cold Selections each refill bottle served with its own frozen glass very nice. Two Sandwiches today… . Club Sandwich with Turkey, lettuce tomato etc. Bread was a little mushy and cold for fresh TOASTED and almost NO applewood bacon on either layer of the club but it was still very tasty. Steak Sandwich with carmalized onions and basalmic vinegar was off the charts tasty. Both came with fresh hot fries with little fresh rosemary that spiced them up a notch. Service from barstaff was outstanding. Pricing aside«EXPENSIVE» and small issues with the club this is certainly a major upgrade from previous place. They also Stamp your Valet ticket if dining here so big advantage there as well All and all very happy on the improvements and most definitely will return when golfing at this fine resort.

Feeling a bit bumped that our Bourbon Steak UYE got postponed, I decided to go get myself a Spice lunch. As I was in Aventura, and as Scarpetta is still one of my best Spice meals, I decide to give Corsair a try, despite its scary 3 star rating. Walking in I find the space, mostly in white, very inviting and comfortable. There are large French windows looking out to the golf course and a waterfall. Overall, more relaxed and casual than I expected. I was seated and given the menu immediately. Based on the Unilocal reviews and the server’s recommendation, I decided to try the eggplant parmagiana, snapper and pineapple cake. Soon, a server brought my first course by. I was about to take picture, when I realized that it somehow looks like an ice cream on a cake with some pineapple. Now, I love sweet things and I had at times eat dessert before the meal, but it’s a first to have my waiter brings me the dessert before anything else! I flagged the waiter down, meanwhile wondering if all those low ratings were justified after all and bracing myself for worse to come. Thankfully everything went smoothly from then on. The eggplant is delectable with a crispy shell and the chunk of fresh mozzarella on top has a fresh, creamy taste. The wait staff seems to make a concerted effort to remedy their initial blunder, the whole team tried their best to be friendly and efficient. The moment I scraped my plate clean, it was whisked away, and new cutlery and new plate appeared like magic, all within 10 seconds. During my meal different servers came by to ask about my meal, take care of everything, and do some friendly chit-chat(not annoying nor intrusive), such as telling me about their breakfast, and discussing Spice menu at other restaurants . I am not a fan of snapper, and honestly it’s a fish found in even the humblest food joints. This version, with stewed cherry tomatoes and capers, is definitely one of the more delicious I’ve tasted. Crispy skin and tender meat. Dessert is solid as well. Overall, a very pleasant meal.

By now, you should be familiar with Corsair, chef Scott Conant’s latest Mediterranean restaurant, known for its homemade pasta and beautiful farmhouse style décor. I’ve been a fan ever since it opened in December of last year, and have been counting the days for August to start in order to check out their much anticipated Spice menu. I must admit, picking the best choice from the Spice menu at Corsair is definitely challenging, as all the dishes were equally as good and exciting. Take the appetizers for example. The hamachi crudo had all of us raving and practically moaning with delight. The crunch of the fish, the chillies, the shallots and the hawaian salt make this a solid contender in the appetizer list, but I must admit that the heirloom tomatoes and burrata with country bread were not far from it in flavor. For the main course, even though the Scottish salmon was a nice and light option, everyone in our table agreed that the best dishes were the squid ink campanelle and the ricotta raviolini, which makes sense as Corsair is mostly known for its pasta. The small and delicate raviolini were phenomenal, and the squid ink campanelle were delectable and just as delicate, with baby clams, mussels, calamari and scallions. Our last stop was dessert, of which we tried the«budino»(a milk chocolate mousse topped with a biscotti), as well as the brown sugar cake, which was my favorite of the night. This divine little cake is made on a skillet, which results in a slightly crunchy base and an incredibly soft and moist inside filled with blueberries, and paired beautifully with homemade buttermilk ice cream. Are you drooling already?

My family and I had the Miami spice menu– we got everything other than the chicken. The favorite appetizer was the burrata; the favorite main was the snapper; and favorite dessert was the pineapple upside down cake, though the chocolate budino was close second. Like the other reviews the only possible negative thing was the service — first there was No one at front to greet diners as they entered the restaurant; the waiter was nice and friendly but not near the level Of service at scarpetta(Scott conant’s other restaurant). I would go back though. Also they add 18% service charge in bill so you don’t have to worry about calculating tip.

The food taste fantastic(octopus and duck). The service and the manager were horrible. We were a table of 4 and the table of 2 sat after us, had their appetizers, got their main course before we got more bread. Requested for the manager to change our server… in one ear… out the other. Finally we get most of our appetizers. Asked for the manager again and he could care less again. The server still could care less about working, table was not being cleared. Got our main course but never got the side dish. All this while the place was less than half full. I will not go back I recommend to everyone to go somewhere else or get the food to go. There is better service in a Mexican prison.

By far the most exquisite restaurant i have ever been to. My servers name was Sarah, she was spectacular and made my experience 100% satisfactory. The manager or owner wearing a fine blue suit came to mt table and asked if i needed anything. My cheeseburger was amongst the best of quality and re defined a burger. What a pleasure to be able to dine in such a restaurant as Corsair. Thank you

If your looking for a quiet lunch with a peaceful scenery Corsair is your spot. Staff: mediocre. Sort of friendly not very attentive had to ask for everything from complimentary bread to spoons for our soup and left mid sentence. Ambiance: went for lunch. Quiet, peaceful, mostly golfers. Saw Scott Conant having lunch that was cool. Though I’ve met him before and he’s a very friendly guy, today he wasn’t up for saying hello. Food: ordered Tuna and yellow tail tartare: very good slightly fishy and oily but overall good. Fresh linguini: Al dente and a little too buttery for my mothers taste but still very good. Roasted salmon, kale, lentil vinaigrette: perfect crispy sear on the salmon delicious dish. Food overall tasty.

3.5 Friday night reservations. To get to the restaurant you enter the hotel, walk through the lobby and go back outside through the French doors. Make a slight left and keep walking all the way to the back wall. The restaurant is facing the waterfall and golf course(I think). Will need to return during the day to enjoy the view. The interior design seems«pioneer meets nautical» inspired. Waited for our friends at the bar with some drinks. I had the OSEL(made with one of my favorite brands: GINGERTREE) to start and it was very good. Could have been a tad bit stronger. My husband had a Tom Collins and he said it was awful(stick with the menu drinks). We also ordered the TUNA&YELLOWTAILTARTARE while at the bar and it was very nice: the toast and crispy shallots worked well with it. Once our friends arrived, we moved to our table. We were seated directly in front of the open kitchen which was cool. We were catching all the action as it happened. Their ventilation system is wonderful. At no point was there even a hint of food smell(one of my pet peeves). That said, it was slightly muggy most of the night because they kept the door to the waterfall area open allowing the outside humidity to come in. That is not going to fly come July! It will turn into a sauna quickly. We placed out appetizer orders and someone came around offering bread out of a basket. The one I had was very good, but forgot what it was(not the onion one, but the plain one). The bread was slightly salty which was great with the butter. ROASTEDEGGPLANT– underwhelming. Not worth the $ 17 price tag. POLENTA– the plating was very simple and it looked unappetizing, BUT it really was delicious. Topped with a sausage and mushroom ragu. GRILLEDOCTOPUS– spectacular! It had several mussels as well as fregola in squid ink and the octopus was cooked to perfection. A definite must-order dish! GNOCCHI– cooked right, and very very simple. RICOTTACAVATELLI– best dish of the night IMHO. Comes with a lamb ragu and extremely savory. Must order. SPINACH&RICOTTAGNUDI– I couldn’t really taste the gruyère or any of the other ingredients. I mostly tasted the ricotta which was disappointing(especially bland after tasting the cavatelli) ROASTEDFREERANGECHICKEN– second best dish of the night. So simple, but done just right. Served over polenta. Another must order dish. CARAMELAPPLETART– tragic. Although the accompanying rosemary ice cream was great, the actual tart was inedible. ICECREAMSUNDAE– smoked vanilla bean ice cream served amongst blondie bites, ginger chantilly, salted caramel sauce with chocolate cookie crumbs, and toasted marshmallow. Winner winner chicken dinner… this was great! Chef Scott Conant was there all night working the room and in the kitchen. He came by our table and was extremely friendly and welcoming. Despite being the man of the hour, he took his time with us answering our questions and even posed for a couple of photos.(Take that Chef Keller– that’s how you treat your guests!) Our waitress was very knowledgeable and accommodating. When asked, she said the name CORSAIR was inspired by Florida privateers. They wanted a name to represent the local flavor. I guess that explains the décor. Corkage for our wine was $ 35. They also happen to have a beautifully assorted wine list. I wouldn’t hesitate to order from it in the future. Valet was free with validation(not sure if it was an oversight or that’s how it is). There’s potential for greatness here, but I think they are still trying to find that which they will be known for. Despite enjoying some of the dishes, I didn’t leave dreaming about repeating any of them. Will give it another shot later this year.

Tried Corsair in the first week they were opened. I wasn’t that impressed. The service was a little on the slow side, seating to drink order was like 9 minutes. My drink(old fashioned) was average and $ 19. The food was very well done but nothing that I craved on the menu. It was sort if like«meh, I guess I’ll try the tuna» then it came, I ate the whole plate, the dish was good but nothing exciting. Decaf coffee tasted like piss and it was $ 5 for a luke warm non refilled cup. If you live in Aventura I would go here. Overall not worth the schlep from Fort Lauderdale. Also, don’t order a cocktail that isn’t off their list. You’ll pay a steep price.
