The Counter is an interesting alternative for those who like to construct their own hamburgers, even though the menu already had established combinations. If you prefer the burger without the bun, they have options with salads. We recommend it for those who want a hamburger without the feel of fast food and a cup of wine or some tequila.

This place is cool. A tad bit overpriced but I get it. Aventura rent can’t be cheap. They have decent service and a nice menu. Lots of cool ways to have a burger but the problem is it takes forever. You can’t come here if you are in a hurry. All three times kitchen takes a good while. Will still go back just not in a hurry.

This place has pretty decent burgers… You can make them to order and have different sizes of beef… Mine came well cooked and tasty… The extra fries are not worth the extra price… Did find the place to be rather costly as my kid and I spent almost $ 50 tip included for 2 burgers and 2 cokes! Other than that, the place is nice, clean and has pretty good service. Well located at Loehmans mall. Enjoy!

Deceived by the pictures and amazing sounding menu; our whole experience with The Counter did not go smooth. On our way down to Aventura we were going to make a pick up order for lunch including staff members and my husband and I’s order. We called in to place our order with the lady on the other end being pleasant enough and taking down our large order. Finding the location is quite easy being in a shopping center right off of Biscayne and 187th. There is plenty of parking even during the lunch rush on a Friday and it is quite simple to get in and out of the complex. Since we had already called and placed our order on the way down the lady advised 30 mins until pick up. We waited the allotted amount of time to go inside only to find out it was not even placed in the computer. They wrote the order down on a sheet of paper then left it hanging out on the counter until we went inside to retrieve our order. The girl seemed a little confused so she went to go get our order to see the paper was still on the counter. She then put the order in and advised another 15 min wait! No apology or anything– So after waiting a whopping 45 mins after already getting to the restaurant we paid for the 5 burgers/sandwiches and were on our way. Our order of food was nicely bagged up with all of the necessary plastic and paper wear. To our great surprise when opening our sandwiches on the beach they were skimpy and flavorless. We thought this would become a regular spot for us when going down to the beach but we were sorely let down and disappointed by the outcome. The Veggie Club was very very sad on skimpy Sourdough Bread and with thinly cut veggies; nothing worth while eating. The Tuna Tataki Burger was absolutely atrocious(see pictures) being soggy, overcooked, and tasteless. Which resulted in a empty stomach and full waste bin. All together a very discouraging and unsatisfactory lunch.

The breakfast burger and Truffle fries were very good. Anything with bacon and egg could never be wrong. Why three stars? Hospitality goes a long way. I requested a table outside because I brought my two year old … you know how that is… and the male employee. bartender maybe… said no! He muttered some other rude comments… blocked those out. and went inside. The waitress .who was very nice actually then sat us outside. hhhmmm Somebody hates theirj ob/life. Avoid that dude and you are golden.

This is my second time coming to this place and has been a good experience both times. The first time I ordered a custom built burger but tonight I tried the mini cheeseburgers(sliders). These burgers consist of Hawaiian bread, chopped red onion, dill pickle chips, red relish, cheddar cheese. However, I requested mine with yellow American cheese, Hawaiian bread, no red relish which I replaced with the tangy thousand island sauce(my new obsession), and chopped red onion. Also, my fiancé and I ordered an «adult» shake. I’m not sure the exact name but it has banana, vanilla vodka, and rum flavors — see images. He also ordered Parmesan fries. The server was very helpful and kind. I recommend it all :)

Yikes. Three of us walk in to an empty restaurant at around 6pm on a Saturday. We order. 1BLT comes out. Microscopic. Menu says it’s supposed to be «stacked». It was the opposite of stacked. 1 grilled cheese comes out. Had to have been microwaved. NOT grilled. And. Room temperature. 1 chili burger comes out. My partner says the beef seems that it might be a higher quality but it was super tasteless. We also got a gigantic bowl of fries. I hate a microscopic sandwich with 79 lbs of fries. With tip the bill was $ 42.00. 3 sandwiches. No drinks. The place is attractive. Great sound system. Clean. But the BLT and the grilled cheese looked like a caveman made them. Alright. Enough.

The food is excellent but the service leaves a lot to be desired. We had a party of 15 and it was already a long wait for the food which we anticipated but the server had no help and brought food out two at a time so half the party was done eating and the other half was still waiting for their food.

The Counter(Charge) Loemanns Plaza — Aventura, Biscayne blvd corner of shopping center, between Bone Fish Grill & Buffalo Wild Wings. Sign says, please wait to be seated, we waited over 5 min for anyone to even acknowledge us. Even though bartender is 10 feet away. The one young waitress, is also the hostess, busser & food runner. Restaurant modern & clean looking, but lacks any identity or character at all. Comfortable volume level on a Bose sound system, playing 90’s rock. A rather odd video projector plate sat empty, facing a pull down screen w/wall paintings, blocking it from hanging straight. The a/c is on & the air is cold, which I normal like, but at 62 degrees is too cold. We are handed non branded menus, which inside contain a extensive sheet on selections to build your own burger. Way too many choice’s, we make our selection 1⁄3 hamburger requested cooked medium inside & charred on outside. on Brioche Bun, cheese, mustard, aioli mayo, grilled mushrooms, Fries 50⁄50 w/Sweet potato fries, To Drink draft Fat Tire 20 oz beer & bloody pig(Mary) comes w/a strip of Bacon as garnish & asked for a Call Brand Vodka.(Photo) The waitress was very nice & pleasant & only had two other tables inside. She seemed to be overwhelmed or busy, maybe she was also handling tables on outside patio. I could see when she swung doors open to the old style(in a modern place ?) closed off kitchen, another young person cooking. NO manager in sight. When she brings the drinks the Bloody Pig Mary was horrible, bartender or ingredients issues? Rot Swill Vodka? , returned &(not charged) replaced for 20oz draft Stella Beer. Disappointing that things are going down hill fast. Hopefully the food can turn this around? Nope … After a longer than normal wait in a empty restaurant, the burgers arrived. They are supposed to be anti hormone, grass-fed, Blah blah blah, what they were was Greasy & Over cooked. NOT juice delicious, straight up nasty Greasy, greasy greasy. Any Flavors or supposed to be better clean beef taste, was lost by this greasy burger. We ordered both burgers on buns & one comes out on regular, your mama’s toasted white bread? The Fries come 10 min later, why, late? Why now, who wants to eat them? Some of the potato stick thin fries were stiff as a toothpick & while some were soggy & limp? Now scared to try desert or milkshake, after all other food so Horrible! We ask for bill (photo) & can’t believe it going to cost w/tip over $ 60 — 2 small burgers, 2 fries &2 beers !!!- This meal down street, at 5 guys or Flanigans is better & for 66% less. Looking at bill The Counter(charge) is all about up charge(photo) even charging for mustard .50 cent, well like the rapper if they keep this up the will be like .50 cent, bankrupt. Value level — Terrible Rating 1 of 10 stars

This place is pretty nice. Lots of families here, staff was exceedingly friendly. The only reason I am not giving The Counter 5 stars is the wait time was slightly higher than average, and I mean very slightly. I arrived, was seated, ordered, ate, and received my check in about an hour. Other similar places this usually takes me about 45 – 50 minutes. The burger was excellent. Cooked to order(medium well) and possibly one of the juiciest burgers I have ever eaten. The sweet potato fries were good as well. The friendliness of the staff was well above average, as anyone that walked past me asked if everything was tasting good, not just my particular waiter, every member of the staff that passed me. I will be back.

Burgers, burgers, burgers… what can possibly be better than crafting your own burger from a huge selection of proteins, toppings, sauces and cheeses? I went for the 1⁄3 Lb «organic/no hormones/no antibiotics» meat patty, brie cheese, lettuce, onions, red peppers and Sriracha sauce. Skinny fries on the side, and a Nutella+Brownie milkshake. Sure, enough calories that will take 37 years of jogging to burn off, but we only live once. My concoction did not disappoint, it was delicious. But here are the reasons why I didn’t give it five stars: — The brie cheese consisted off two rectangular slices, they were on top of the lettuce, thus did not melt from the heat. This was a bummer, since melted brie is delightful(have you ever tried the Baked Brie at Pericone’s in Miami?). Next time I will ask to have the brie with the patty on the grill to make sure it comes melted and gooey. Also the burger totally disassembled and fell apart before reaching my table. how about a major toothpick to keep the tower standing? — Prices. my belief is that the price is on the high side. Sure it is a much healthier hamburger than BK and McD’s… but costing twice as much is a stretch. Example: in my case I got the burger, fries and a shake. that added to $ 24 with taxes and tip, not easy on the wallet. They should have a «combo» price, that includes a drink or shake and a side(like fries), at a discount, that would make a huge difference, and probably allow people to eat there multiple times a week. Anyway, the food was great and service was awesome, so I highly recommended you try it, but prepare your wallet. Cheers!

This place was very good and will be my new everyday burger spot in Aventura. I was going to Rok Burger in Gulfstream but everything there feels very greasy and heavy. I did not get that feeling from this place. The only reason I did not give this place five stars is because the burger at Bourbon Steak still is the best burger I have had in Miami. You could taste the quality of the meat and ingredients. I got the Korean Bbq burger and my wife made her own burger. We got cheddar cheese fries and onion rings to share. My burger was well cooked and fresh. The bbq sauce and slaw on top were very good. The cheddar fries were made with real cheddar cheese and not some cheese whiz sauce. The onion rings appeared homemade. They were thin slices in a light batter, not those oversized onion rings with 3lbs of breading. I also like that they offer 3 different sizes of burgers on the build your own and two different sizes on their menu burgers. The wait staff was friendly and attentive. The restaurant is clean and has a good atmosphere. Overall I was very impressed with this place.

Loved the set up, really good atmosphere. The menu is pretty big and they also have the build your own burgers and shakes. The only reason why I wouldn’t give this place 5 stars is that the milkshakes were pretty much melted/not cold and deff not the normal consistency of a shake. The server was very attentive.

Loved it. Fancy burger joints are all the rage now. This place is definitely a step up from Red Robin, while not being one of those $ 20 overpriced places that wasn’t too impress you. It is a clean, but not fancy place, with great quality ingredients that taste great. The service is excellent. But, this is not a romantic spot. Lots of families come here. Let me give a shout out to the gluten-impared diners. This place has a build your own hamburger bowl that is fantastic. I will add a picture. All the ingredients are fresh and plentiful. Presentation was pretty. Just loved it.

I was very stoked when I saw they opened a few months back, since I’ve had a lifetime obsession with burgers and it’s very close to my place. So, needless to say I’ve been coming here for a while now and have tried many things off the menu and have not been disappointed. The food is definitely great. More on that in a bit. I like the atmosphere and design. Very casual, very open and relaxed. There’s also a full liquor bar and an outdoors seating area. When you get there you’ll be greeted and seated promptly. A waiter/waitress will take your drink order. They have a pretty good selection of beer(IPAs, stouts, etc), which for me it’s a great thing. As far as the menu goes… You have 2 options: 1. Pick anything from it. 2. Custom build your perfect burger(which I have yet to try). They will provide you with pencils and a checklist for you to pick and choose everything from your type of burger, vegetables, cheese, sauces, buns, etc. Which I think it’s a pretty good idea. Some of my favorites are the BBQ Bacon burger(comes with onion rings inside), the Red Eye(including a sunny-side-up egg and sweet sriracha) and the Unbrielievable(including Brie cheese and mixed greens). They also offer«bowls», which comes with the burger of your choice but with an arrangement of veggies, cheese and more, for a bunless option. Another thing that I love about this place is their adult shakes… Yup, delicious chocolate, vanilla, coffee shakes with also delicious liquor. They are perfection!!! Bonus: definitely try the sweet potato fries(they are to die for) and the bison burger(definitely delicious). If you are wondering why I didn’t give them a perfect score, it’s because their service is inconsistent. One day it’s fast and efficient, next day it’s slow and forgetful. But I hope they can fix this and make the whole experience better every time. Although it can get a bit pricey, I never regret going there since the food is always great. I definitely recommend going if you are looking to experiment with your burger and have some good drinks.

Next in the line of overpriced Burgers /Gastropubs is The Counter located in the Loehmans Plaza mall just down from Mens Wearhouse soon to be next door to the Bonefish Grill upon its completion. 1st look and you don’t even know the place is there. Corner unit with sparkling new décor full bar with inside and small outside patio seating as well. Alas another burger place with it’s own take on the all American Hamburger this time with all types of ways to serve it etc. Previously stated very clean layout with craft beers as well as high end milkshakes. Sit at the counter this afternoon and what can you say other than prices for the food here is expensive so you better deliver if your going to charge $ 11.00 for a ala carte hamburger 6 Oz and $ 13 for an 8 Oz ala carte burger. All the fixings are available but a 3.00 up charge for a side of fries. Just some soft drinks and a lemonade today as we both go for the 8 oz burger with a variety of different toppings. 1 the side of shoe string fries while the other shoe string onion rings. Let’s stop all the preamble and cut to the chase. Everything is fresh and all the ingredients are no question top shelf. HOWEVER there is no way to justify the price points on this burger as aside from its obvious good quality it is utterly tasteless. It does not compare to rok burger /for that matter Burger Fi and Five Guys fast food as they are blows this away. I did not partake in any of their shakes or desert and the service was very good with free refills on the Lemonade. Bottom line I simply can’t justify this pricing on a burger that fall so short in flavor. Small note the fries and rings were hot and fresh but certainly not a 3.00 side dish and the shoe string fries well I just don’t get it. Nothing terrible just very overpriced with much better comparable options around.

So, my son and I were on our way to burgerFi, when we realized we never got a chance to eat at ‘The Counter’, since the last time we were here there was too long of a wait. We busted a quick U-turn and we were on our way. Its a Tuesday night, so we didn’t expect a crowd, and were happy to see plenty of parking and no line when we arrived. So I had a glance at this place the last time I was here, and it was pretty hipster’ish, just like you would expect in Aventura. Nice décor overall. They definitely spent some money on the build-out. Since there was no wait, we were seating almost immediately. I did see the menu online, but didn’t really remember anything about it. Upon first look I noticed the prices seemed a little high, but to be expected I suppose. They have the option of picking from pre-selected combinations of salads, sandwiches and burgers, or the build-your-own option, which is what I went with. My son, the carnivore had a burger with ketchup. I made a crazy salad with 3 sauce option, and a ½ vegan burger. So here is what I liked. I ordered the ½ lb vegan veggie burger, in a bowl which is essentially a salad, and the salad was huge. The ingredients looked and tasted very fresh. The vegan burger itself was very tasty. The add-ins to the salad were very generous and very tasty. I ordered it with a side of crispy onions, and the onions actually came out crispy and tasty. My son really enjoyed the burger, and when asked how it compared to burgerFi, he was somewhat on the fence. He said the burger tasted really good, and it was bigger than a single at burgerFi, which it should be for $ 9, but he couldnt give me a better than or not as good as BF. They had a nice selection of beverages, craft beers, wines etc. What I didnt like so much was the texture of the vegan veggie burger. It had the taste, but the texture could have been better. I personally like a little crunch with my food. I dont see how this burger can be eaten in a bun, it simply would have fallen apart. Very mushy, but I dont see this as a negative in a bowl. Another thing I didnt really like was the price. For 2 people, one being a child who had a plain burger and fries, our bill with Tip was $ 37. Usually when we go to BF, its considerably cheaper. The crispy onion straws were cooked just the way I like them, but I noticed the bowl they were served in was a little greasy on the bottom. This certainly could have been avoided by letting the onions sit or drain on paper towels prior to plating and serving. Little details that could have left a better impression in my opinion. Overall I think this is a decent place, but I really cant see myself coming here over burgerFi. Call me biased, but I really love the quinoa veggie burgers from BF. I will say this, that I do have more options here so for that reason, Im not counting this place out. The salad was pretty amazing, and I do believe the quality of food is noticeably better than burgerFi, and obviously, this would explain the higher cost. They have the potential to be 4 stars, but I just cant justify it based on first visit, and the main reasons is because of the price and the mushy veggie burger. Next time, I will request the burger to be made well-done, and see what happens. Yes, that means I will be back, and will keep all your Unilocalsters updated. Service was good, Food quality/taste was good. Price was a little steep, but worth a visit. Check them out.
