Andy Mohr Toyota

If you have a Toyota and live on the West side of Indy, this is the place to go. I have been here a few times and the customer service is great! They have good and thorough inspection and maintenance packages that are affordable.
They have a business center, with wifi, so you can be productive while you wait for your service to be completed. They also have a small playroom for folks who have children. Ample coffee, tea, water and snacks while you wait too!
Their customer service bays are not the most comfortable, if I were them I would want to take a field trip up north to the Mishawaka Jordan Toyota location to check out their set-​up, where customer service folks have more private, professional workspaces.

Granted this is highly overdue — I wasn’t even writing reviews consistently at the time of this occurrence — but the review of another Toyota Dealership by another Unilocaler brought back the horrible memory.
Back when my car was new (er) and I was more naïve, knowing next to nothing about cars, I thought I was doing myself a favor avoiding the jerks at Jiffy Lube and having my Scion serviced at the dealership. I figured who would treat my car better, y’know? So I would come to Andy Mohr Toyota exclusively to have my oil changed.
There was the added perk of having my car washed and vacuumed at no additional cost. All seemed well. I was happy. That is, until I started dating a car guy.
On one lovely spring evening, I asked him if he would change my oil for me. An easy job for just about anyone. I was sprawled out on the couch while he was in the driveway working. Not ten minutes had gone by when he stomped into the living room with a look on his face that terrified me. He demanded to know where I had been getting my oil changed.
It is important to note that my house has no driveway, but instead only gravel. It is also important to note that my boyfriend DOES have a driveway, complete with a big ol’ oil stain on the pavement. Do you see where I’m going with this?
It appeared that the mechanic who had previously worked on my car had conveniently «forgot» to put the o-​ring back on my oil filter. My car had slowly been leaking oil for months; no evidence at my home because of the lack of cement and my boyfriend just assumed his older vehicles had been doing the damage to his own driveway.
It is his opinion that the employee at Andy Mohr Toyota had purposefully changed the oil without replacing the o-​ring so as to cost me thousands of dollars in repairs shortly down the road. I was horrified. But being a self-​proclaimed naïve female, I would never have known had someone else not checked the situation under my hood out (heh heh).
These days I change my own oil and can talk shop, holding my own when it comes to spark plugs and fan belts. And you can bet your ass I steer clear of dealerships and tell others to do the same!
Never again, Andy Mohr Toyota. NEVER AGAIN!

I live between Indy and Terre Haute so called dealers in both cities for a price on a new prius I wanted. The T H dealer got right back to me with a price and all the info I needed. I had financing lined up so just needed a price. The Andy Mohr rep called late that night and said he would have info the next morning. At noon I called as I had not heard anything from them and he said he was working on it and would have something shortly. At 5 I called back and was told the same story. Never got back to me. I called the next day and asked for a different sales rep and told him the story and he said he would get back to me… The next day I called again at noon and got the new reps voicemail.3 hours later having not heard from them .I went to T H and as I was driving off the lot in my New car the phone rang from Indy. I let it go to voicemail and they did not even leave a message… Guess they dont need to sell cars at Andy Mohr. or need some better training for their sales force.

USED CAR SALES
I found the car online, with a special Internet price that was lower than the window price. This was not a «Certified» used car. The car was advertised as having 37,511 miles. It actually had 40,357 miles. It was not clean, with a soda can, pop tops, trash, a berry container, dirty seats, and so on. The salesperson was not willing to drop the price even $ 300 to cover either the miles or the mess, but he later told me that he got me a Ziebart deal to make up for it.
Because of our credit rating and shorter-​term payment plan, I was promised 3.6%, a lower interest rate than our home equity line of credit offers, so I decided to finance the vehicle there (and thus, through Capital One). No mention was made of any other reason for a lower interest rate. Financing at the dealer meant that I needed to get my husband in, and I left and we were back in a couple of hours.
Everything looked fine until the paperwork. We were walked over to the cashier (in the service garage) to make a down payment before we were given any papers that included the price of the car. That should’ve been a red flag! When that was done, husband went over the paperwork with the money guy, and I went and checked the car out, making sure there were no dings, and that the back seat belts worked, which I’d neglected to do when test driving the vehicle. The salesperson said he’d call the following day or the day after that to arrange the cleaning.
When I looked at the paperwork once we’d left the dealership, there was a charge for $ 899 for «rustproof, paint seal,». I asked my husband about it. Because I’d said something earlier to him about the salesman «throwing in» the Ziebart, he figured the price had been lowered to cover that. It had not. He had signed the paperwork, not realizing that it was committing us to paying for Ziebart. Attempts to get the company to honor the promise from the salesperson have been fruitless. («If we remove that charge, we have to raise the price of the vehicle to cover it. Is that what you want?») The sales manager insists that the interest rate was lowered to cover the $ 899. (NOTHING was mentioned to us about that at the time and nothing was shown to us to prove that we saved $ 899 in interest. But it wouldn’t matter. They promised us 3.6% interest with no mention of «but we’re adding on a charge of $ 899.»)
Forty dollars for the title fee, which costs $ 15 at the BMV in Indiana. And no, apparently they do not refund the overcharges.
Also what rankled me was the inclusion of two incomprehensible fees, which were explained to me in follow-​up phone calls (that I initiated) as being fees the dealer charges for every purchase. No exceptions.
1) One was $ 299 for «Theft deterrent,» explained to me on the phone to be a charge to change the serial number to our name through the Theft Prevention Recovery System company in Ohio. Really? Having the serial number registered costs that much and is a theft prevention? As opposed to my having the VIN number?
2) There was also a fee of $ 199 that had nothing written next to it to explain what it was. A call to the dealership let me know that it was a «documentation fee», a processing fee charged by the dealer to cover the cost of a temporary license plate and the use of certified mail. For something. Though I was given those details twice, the reason for certified mail was not explained. And from my use of certified mail, $ 199 seems a bit on the high side. Even
says that any doc fees over $ 100 are «high.» The dealer is charging the customer to make sure their employees are adequately trained to sell cars and fill out and file paperwork. Something they’re in business to do, so their business should pay for it. So call it what it is: PROFIT.
So some of fault of the bad experience is my fault. I admit it. I should’ve sat there with my husband while papers were signed, looking over every letter, every word. But it shouldn’t have to be that way. DOCUMENTS SHOULD CLEARLY ITEMIZE FEES. FEES SHOULD NOT GOUGE THE UNWARY CUSTOMER. PROMISES SHOULD BE KEPT.
Most of all, their insistence after the fact that they lowered the rate to 3.6% to save me the $ 899 that was charged for Ziebart was absurd. I was promised 3.6%, which got me to finance there vs. at my bank, where it would’ve been about one percentage point higher. So instead of making me a happy customer, I’ve had to insist that they drop the $ 899 Ziebart charge and not get my car cleaned. A clean car and fulfilled promises would’ve made me much happier than a dirty car and all of these bad feelings. DO NOT TRUST THIS DEALER.

Disrespectful and outright rude. They questioned my integrity when I provided a bill of sale from a competitive dealer.
Avoid at all costs and find someone who treats you with dignity.

i like this place for the most part. the service is great and people who work here are kind and fun! i’ve never felt like i’m being preyed on! i had a great experience buying my prius here. however, i have found that the services are generally pricier than other places, but not necessarily are better quality. also, the wifi for customers doesn’t work!

Love this service department. But let me fill you in on how things work so you won’t get your knickers in a twist. When you are in need of service head on over to the service department and pull your car right in and the wonderful staff will hook you up. Do not park outside like a newbie and expect your car to be moved into the front of the line and then pull a perfect man flounce as you pout and threaten to take your business elsewhere.

I had good experience here purchasing a used car. We started off with one guy then got passed along to another perhaps less experienced guy after a higher dollar customer came in during our test drive. I don’t begrudge them for that, Everybody has got to start somewhere, I get how business works, the A Team needs to play in the big games. The internet price was very competitive, we were ready to buy and our deal was done for the most part. The situation didn’t require anyone to get pushy the whole process was relatively painless.
The dealership had the upper hand in negotiating, another customer was test driving the car we were negotiating for so they knew the thing was going to sell quick. Paying cash held little weight. In fact by the time we were wrapping up they came back and were ready to buy. They were pissed and probably won’t be writing a nice review but we’re happy and I will.
I’ve called him less experienced and I feel bad for that because our Sales Guy really did a fine job. His name is Dan and he’s a really good dude and I wish him all the success in the world, he deserves it. The previous owner was a smoker, the smell bothered my wife and he’s gone above and beyond to remedy the smell. He called us a few days after purchase to set up an appointment, I took it into service and he was there early to write the ticket for the fumigation (?) and detail.
If you’ve found something that you like on
that they’re selling, don’t be afraid, go and talk to Dan.

Horrible miscommunication and hidden fees. Asked about a specific payment amount on a new truck and was told it was possible so come in. Get there and price jumped up $ 129 a month from what I was told was possible. Asked for their payment calculation and found another $ 1500 in hidden fees that was causing payment I was quoted to be so inflated.
Sales staff worked hard to try and make car purchase happen but the finance team blew it to heck every time.
Don’t trust.

Doesn’t get any better than their service department, especially Gary and Cody — those guys are top notch service advisors.
I’ve been taking my 2005 Scion xB to them for over 6 ½ years now (plus a 2011 Scion xB for a few months) and I trust them completely. It gives me a great peace of mind knowing that I don’t have to worry about whether I should take their recommendations — I’ve had countless service situations that have proven their honesty. They’re reasonably priced, super friendly, and generally pretty fast even without an appointment.
Most recent experience: Brought in 2011 xB for complimentary 10,000 mile service. I asked them about windshield repairs because a few days prior, my wife had been driving on 465 when a huge rock hit the windshield. Even though they technically didn’t offer that service themselves, Cody went out of his way to contact a local glass repair shop and have them come in on just a few hours of notice. It saved us a ton of time + money + hassle to be able to get that repaired at the same time as the oil change. I’ve had numerous great visits like this one and it’s why I don’t even consider servicing my vehicles anywhere else!

My latest experience with Andy Mohr Toyota (believe me, there are others) involves the service department. After picking up my car for a recall issue (the infamous gas pedal defect), we noticed a burning smell coming from under the hood.
I called the service department and they told me that the car was probably leaking oil. I though this unlikely, since the car has 36k miles and shouldn’t be leaking oil.
I took my car to another car maintenance provider down the street (their oil change is cheaper, and they are generally nicer there), and when I returned to pick up my car they showed me the partially burnt shop rag that the Andy Mohr service department had left wrapped around the exhaust manifold.
It’s kind of ironic that I took my car to Andy Mohr because of a safety issue, and I very well could have had a car fire as a result.
