I’ve been here a couple of times and it always feels so warm. Its clean, modern and the staff is friendly. The coffee is yummy, specially the mocha! The brownies are too die for.

Nice space. Can’t do a Breve because they don’t have half-n-half. Had to explain what a Red-eye was. Why are they in the high-end coffee business?

The coffee is not as good as a stump town, which they have at Hartford baking company. It is still very good. And better than most places around. The bathrooms were next level clean. The atmosphere with little alcove was great. I really like it! I will be back

GREAT coffee shop. Wooden tables, plenty of great lighting, dozens of tabletops and chairs — there is plenty of space to hang out at Dom’s. Whether you’re catching up with old friends, looking to unwind with a great book, or simply enjoy a good cup of coffee, Dom’s does it right. Coffee is from J. Rene Roasters and pricing is very fair. I haven’t tried much of the food, but options include fresh fruit, pastries, like turnovers and scones, along with packaged sandwiches and pre-packaged bars. Next time you’re in the Farmington Valley, be sure to stop by Dom’s, great coffee shop! FYI M-F: 7am — 5 pm Saturday: 8am — 4pm closed Sundays

Lovely, lovely, lovely. Certainly not a «cozy» space. It is more bright and inviting – which seemed to brighten my mood and brought upon pleasant, positive conversation… as opposed to the mood of a more somber coffee shop(headphones on in Starbucks in the corner with a romantic novel, anyone?)…Don’t get me wrong: I love the dark & cozy coffee shops! But, the atmosphere here was the complete opposite which was a nice change. So many places to sit and relax with a lovely cup of coffee. The place itself smells inviting. Very woodsy/new-house smell that comes along with the rustic wooden shelving along the walls. The woman at the counter was friendly and helped us with a smile. Such a serene, uncluttered space… I felt like I should have brought my yoga mat(I don’t actually own a yoga mat but I certainly felt like I should have made a quick trip to the store, bought a yoga mat, and came back… too far?) Also a bonus: delicious blueberry muffin and the tree cake looked very interesting; I will have to try that next. Other treats in the cases looked yummy as well. Will definitely be back. Places like this need to remain open!

If you are in the Farmington Valley, THIS is the coffee shop to go to. With a stylish, contemporary interior and lots of corners to sit in, this is my all-time favorite place to work on my laptop. I’ve met so many friendly locals and travelers — far more than in any other coffee shop around. The staff here is extremely friendly and always willing to chat. The chocolate brownie from Hartford Baking Co. never disappoints and their authentic tree cake(which is a lot like a sugar cookie) is quite delicious as well. With strong wi-fi, lots of parking, and a very welcome atmosphere, I happily come back to Dom’s at least once a week :)

Nice place, Super clean and bright. Plenty of nooks for sitting, and a conversation. I was alone while waiting for my car to be serviced across the street, but I felt comfortable just people watching. The blueberry muffin was yummy, and my cappuccino had the prettiest of hearts on it. The woman at the counter is very pleasant and always smiling, something nice to see. I will be back again and again and again.

Frequently and for some time, I have been going to Dom’s. Each time = excellent service. I am impressed and welcomed each visit by the outstanding baristas here. I have made the effort to go back and pay what I have just for them. Once I found the driveway on my first visit – there are two, and an additional driveway to First & Last Tavern that connects to the parking area in the back of the shop – I visited Dom’s to try it and was not disappointed. Dom’s serves J. Rene(an outstanding shop in West Hartford) coffee, which is coffee at its finest. During this first visit, the barista who helped me and made my mocha was extremely friendly and nice. When I asked her what the shop’s specialty drink was, she said it was the cold brewed coffee and described how they made it. She then proceeded to put a perfectly shaped and beautiful heart in steamed milk to finish my mocha. The baristas are very professional and know how to make coffee. Using delicious locally roasted coffee and having a true coffee crafter make for a delicious cup of java, no matter what kind you get. I recommend a honey latte, made with real honey so as to not completely artificially flavor the coffee. On my most recent visit, my barista made my latte then carried it with the tree cake that I got to my counter area where I put down my jacket. He came back a few minutes later and asked if I would like to sample some new cheese that the shop had gotten and even gave me a little bag to go so I could try it later, too. Again, I am impressed! However, the honey latte I got to enjoy in the shop tasted bitter with not too much honey, as it had another time, and I had to eat pieces of my tree cake to counteract this bitterness.(I had a honey latte to go one other time that was good and tasted as though it had honey, so it is a little inconsistent with coffee being enjoyed in the shop and taken to go.) The prices are a little – OK, extremely – steep. A latte can set you back $ 5 easily, and $ 6 for a small dirty chai to go(which my friend typically gets). With the service you get, it is almost worth it, but not entirely. The shop has a high-tech register so the barista can swivel it around for you to swipe and pay(with an option to include a tip as well, which you likely will with these baristas). However, I find this shop is only for a splurge. My latte(for in the shop) and tree cake set me back $ 8.50. Price differences are visible between the items here and elsewhere. For example, the brownies, from Hartford Baking Co.(HBC), are 50 cents more at Dom’s than at HBC, and a cup of coffee [regular, latte, etc.] is about 40 or 50 cents at J. Rene(where the beans are actually roasted). You’re paying a little more than the actual sources of the items being consumed. Dom’s is a coffee shop, and has just the basic essentials to go with the beverages, like biscotti and various nuts. There isn’t a tremendous selection of baked goods, but coffee is the focus – and star – of this shop. A definite must try for baked goods, something that the shop always has, is the Lithuanian tree cake, which is very reminiscent of a lighter short bread cookie but in a funky form and with a better, yummier, harder-to-describe goodness. I really like the atmosphere of Dom’s. It’s an airy, relaxing shop with an ample amount of seating. It’s the perfect place to enjoy coffee while reading or doing a little work. You would never know, stepping in, that its located on a busy main road(an additional point for convenience and ease of getting a great cup of deliciousness). Good coffee; comfortable and clean, modern and unique surroundings; convenient location; and fantastic, friendly service. Oh, and I can get a hole punch in a reward card for each drink I get and get a drink on the house after ten? Oh, and I can enjoy a Lithuanian tree cake with my latte? Check it out yourself, if you’re willing to splurge.

Quaint coffee shop with a modern European feel in Avon. Simple but beautifully decorated. My friend and I came on a rainy Saturday afternoon and sat for a few hours catching up. I ordered a honey latte that was just delicious and we shared a tasty brownie. We will definitely be back!

Maybe I’m too much of a Connecticut Yankee, but I found the euro-chic, modernly styled Dom’s to be jarringly misplaced in the midst of a classic New England colonial corner, right in the center of the old village of Avon. The coffee was indeed tasty, but way overpriced, with a small cup of regular joe setting you back $ 3.50. All this served up by servers straight out of a Robert Palmer video. Not for me.

Coffee and hot chocolate are great. The Lithuanian cheese is expensive but good. 24 month is my favorite.

It’s very minimalist and open inside. It’s pretty, but there is something very sterile. It’s like the Apple Store for coffee. Not warm and inviting. They get the lowest rating because they would not make my coffee. I drink my coffees with half and half or cream because of my weird dietary restrictions with lighter milks. I ordered two cappuccinos to stay, but asked that one of them be made with half and half or cream. She said no. I asked if they had half and half or cream. She said yes. I asked them why they couldn’t steam it for me like they do the whole milk. She said they would not. She said my only options for steamed milk would be whole milk or skim milk. Bizarre. Every other coffee shop has steamed cream for me. She was not particularly friendly. Oddly enough, there’s another coffee place literally a stones throw across the street. I’m sitting in there right now… Comfortable, cozy and inviting… as I sip my cappuccino with steamed cream.

Came here for the first time in September 2015. How gorgeous this place was! I drive 20 minutes from Newington just to get a cup of coffee and hang out. It reminds me of my favorite coffee spots in Norway.

Stopped into Dom’s with a friend for the first time this week. The space is GORGEOUS. Sunlit, minimalist, lots of special little hidden corners where two people can have a nice, private talk together. The cup of coffee I had was lovely. The poppyseed scone I had was delicious. The cost was, frankly, absolutely outrageous. $ 3.50 for my cup of coffee, $ 4.00 for the scone. The patented cheese they sell is delicious. My friend and I tried a small bag of the 12-month aged cheese chunks($ 5.55, I believe). I would definitely come back for the cheese. But for coffee with a friend, I’m headed back across the street to my favorite place, The Coffee Trade. Their prices are realistic, their faces are friendly, there are plenty of little corners to sit in with a friend in the back, and I always love perusing their little store of treasures in the front. …$ 3.50 for an 8-oz. cup of coffee is too expensive, even for the Avon zip code. Maybe they’ll steal some business away from the Simsbury Starbucks down the road next to Lenscrafters?

Was looking for a change of pace from my typical breakfast and this fits the bill. Beautiful interior, delicious coffee, friendly service. Price is high but reasonable for the quality. Overall, it’s still a coffee place. But as a place to hang out, it’s a nice addition to Avon Center. Winning.

LOL I’m so confused why this place has such good reviews. I would love coming here if I really hated money. Large cold brew for 4.50 is an outrageous price and that goes for all of their prices. I came here once, didn’t see the appeal, would never return. I mean, that is cool how the beans and equipment and interior are super fancy, but at the end of the day it’s just coffee. And even upscale artisan micro-batch roasted coffee places like Hartford Baking Co., Willoughby’s of New Haven and others don’t charge such exorbitant fees for the stuff. Also, I feel like it was rather unkind to take up shop literally across the street from the only other small business coffee purveyor in Avon, The Coffee Trade. Seriously guys? Move in across from Starbucks, that’s cool, but move in inches from another small business selling the same stuff? Odd.

Absolutely gorgeous on the inside, it looks like it was designed by award winning architects. Sleek modern furniture, artwork on the walls, flowers on the tables are all over. Smooth Euro jazz fills your ears. Your Lithuanian host may just be the nicest guy in the world. If you ask him a question about the coffee, be prepared for a great conversation, and watch how enthusiastic he gets. It really is beautiful here, and the coffee is just as nice. It’s advertised as a «European Style Café» and they have all of your cappuccinos and French presses and lattes and cold brews and American Coffees. I’ve been in twice –for a coffee and an iced coffee. Yes, its a bit pricey here(two iced coffees ran close to a ten-spot) –but you do get what you pay for, and the atmosphere, service, and quality of Dom’s help justify their prices. It’s a sweet sophisticated oasis of an escape.

Came to Dom’s for the first time today and had a lovely semi-productive morning in the gorgeous space. I’d been looking forward to coming since seeing pictures and hearing great things about this place. It appears that they had hired a NYC based interior designer to decorate the space and it was well worth it. It’s clean and cozy at the same time. I would love for my home to look like this. As others have mentioned, coffee is from J. Rene(my go-to) and pastries from Le Petit France, both in West Hartford. I got a french press dark roast today and at $ 5 for a one person serving it was pricey but worth it. It came out to almost three cups and it was so good I drank it all even though I am usually good after one cup. I also had an almond croissant that was above average but LPF has never been my favorite. One recommendation for Dom’s that would make them even better is to offer some savory items in addition to all the sweets. Ham and cheese or spinach and cheese croissants, quiche, etc. would be some good ideas to start. Another recommendation is to look into the WI-FI(pw: coffeehouse) as it worked but was slow on my computer this morning, was fine on my phone though. I look forward to many more coffees at Dom’s.

This is exactly what Avon needed. A trendy coffee shop in the heart of town. It’s something straight out of NYC. Wi-fi is free, drinks are great – though a little bit pricy and atmosphere is clean and bright. They have all the favorites: cold brew, americano, lattes. Not to mention the space is huge! The beans are roasted by J. Renee in West Hartford(AKA yum) and the pastries from Le Petit France, also in West Hartford. Although it’s right across the street from the Coffee Trade, I honestly feel like it will be no competition. Dom’s is superior in every way, with the exception of the price. Safe to say I’ll be stopping in again.
