Awesome subs! NEW York STEAMER is the best! Great tea! The hook and ladder is another favorite. Lots of drink choices.

These guys are pretty good. I’d rank them somewhere below Penn Station and Jimmy Johns, but above Subway. They have the usual variety of deli sandwiches and a good amount of optional toppings for them. Everything tastes fresh and the service we’ve had here has always been friendly, albeit a bit on the slower side. The prices are also pretty typical of this type of place, so no worries there. I don’t really have any complaints, but also don’t think the world of them. It’s a good place to get a solid sandwich, but I won’t go out of my way to visit here.

I dropped by here as my husband and I had wanted to try it from seeing a commercial. After a day of testing this was a convenient stop for lunch. I wasn’t overly impressed. The service was wonderful, but the sandwiches were just on par with every other sub shop we’ve gone to. I found them to be slightly over priced in comparison to other establishments. The quality was good, but again it was just a sub sandwich that I could get anywhere.

Having to fast before a medical procedure, I saw the commercial again, for the meatball sub. After leaving the hospital that afternoon this was exactly what I planned to have. Unfortunately the sandwich was a pretty big let down. The sauce and meatball were just meh and not wonderful, the bread was average, and the price enormous for the item purchased. Another popular chain outdoes them on this sandwich hands down. Not sure I’d return for just mediocre and higher prices.

Bland & tasteless. It’s almost uncanny how little flavor these subs have. And the bread is never fresh. I have absolutely no problems with the service here or the preparation of the subs. I just don’t like eating the subs. Do yourself a favor and go to your local deli and buy the ingredients for a tasty homemade sandwich and forego the soup-sandwich mess at Firehouse Subs. I really miss Lenny’s Sub Shop :(

Best subs in town(sorry Jersey Mike’s it’s not you its me) Awesome staff any day of the week, place is always full but not too crowded. Easy to get to, hardest part is choosing which sandwich to get. If you just want bread then keep hitting up subway, Firehouse is the hungry mans(persons??) place for subs.

Great New Yorker sandwich. All the meat is top quality. Friendly service — they always welcome you when you come in the door. Small inside, not good for large groups.

I had the meet ball sub. Food is fresh, and they have made their process simple and easy. It’s not like subway where you can see all your veggies and meats in front of you. I wasn’t too fond of the chip selection. I think for a place that is trying to stand out, they can do better. Otherwise it’s a good place. 5 being best. Service: 3.5 Price: 4 Food: 4.5

Tonight was my first visit to Firehouse, it will not be my last! When I first walked in I was greeted by 2 employees with a very nice welcome. There is no rush to order and everyone is willing to answer questions. The menu is better than other sub shops. I ordered the meatball sub. The size options are 8 or 12 inches. Bread options are white or wheat. The subs are all toasted which I like. Their options are pretty interesting, good mix of ingredients and the flavors are pretty bold. My favorite part of this shop is all the hot sauces at the end if the bar! 30 plus different hot sauces that you can put in your sub! They also collect spare change, donations, and sell their old pickle buckets in support of local first responders. A very cool place.

I’ve eaten at subway, Quiznos, Milio’s, and jimmy johns. Firehouse is by far the best chain sub shop. Best food and service. Enjoyed the soda machine too.

On further review, I’ve learned at subsequent visits that if you stir your Coke, it’s passable. The food still hasn’t changed — always awesome every time!

This is easily my favorite chain sandwich place that I have tried. Staff is always friendly, warm delicious subs delivered quickly and there is of course the fun drink machine. This applies to both the Avon and Plainfield locations. I have tried a handful of the sandwiches but my favorites are Club on a Sub and New York Steamer. My boyfriend really likes the meatball sub and the beef brisket. We go here pretty frequently. Now I am craving it again… need to go soon…

I first walked into the place becuase I had hear about their super cool soda machine. But when you buy a pop you must buy a sandwich and so I did… Best decision of my life! I had the beef brisket! Sooo delicious! There are no words to describe how good it was! I just suggest that everyone goes and gets one!
