We all got stuffed chicken breasts and mashed potatoes with gravy and green beens. It was all very good and price was good as well as service.

We have been disappointed more than once. Food was cold, or sitting out too long and unappealing. The young staff seem to need a manager. Prices seem a little high.

Good old fashion food at a great price. The mature workers are very friendly but the younger workers need a little work. The younger workers don’t speak most of the time but are responsive. My wife and I are regulars at this restaurant. Highly recommend if looking for healthy food at a good price.

Good food quick! Good service. A little over priced but kids eat free Monday thru Wednesday.

Monday nights 2 kids eat free per 1 adult meal!!! Horrible idea! Took us 30 minutes to get through the line last night because of this. I wish MCL would move the Stuffed Chicken Breast night to another night so that I do not have to endure this. My entire dining experience was horrible due to this poor business decision. I mentioned this to the manager on duty and she could have cared less. We felt as if we were dining in the middle of a Chuck E Cheese. It is offensive to the majority of your clientele which are middle aged to elderly. So 5 stars for the Stuffed Chicken and 0 stars for the very poor dining environment.

My husband and I thought we would try again before I wrote a review. We ate here when it first opened, and we’re quite dissapointed. They claim that the food is homemade. Only if it comes out of a box and is prepared there. No way do I taste homemade. The prices are ridiculous $ 5.99 for 1 pork chop? $ 1.99 for a side of mashed potatoes $ 1.89 for a side of green beans $ 1.89 for coleslaw. $ 12.00 and no dinner rolls. I could have had a great steak for the same price. Will not be back MCL. Good luck. I personally think you won’t last long.

This well laid out restaurant is newer and has a large and airy dining room. It has a large selection of time-tested recipes for nearly any taste. The quality of the food is high, but the price can seem steep for such simple fare. The one issue with the cuisine was that the Swiss Steak seemed to have an surplus of breading and a lack of meat. Furthermore, the service left something to be desired, with the waitress never introducing herself and only asking us once if water refills were needed. No tip was left. Still, this is a good bet to get some quality food while pretty much avoiding the normally pesky Avon crowds.

This is a nice MCL. It is relatively new and hidden by the Walmart parking lot. Unlike most MCLs the water is not self-serve which is actually nicer. My 1st trip there the food was good and service was also good. The mgr asked how my lunch was which I found to be very professional. The Castleton MCL is still my favorite but this is a good location as well.

Good selection and food quality, but, some items were cold. Also, a little pricey for cafeteria food, $ 6 for main item, $ 2 per side & drink and $ 3 for a cup of soup.

OK, so I grew up in Indianapolis near the Speedway, and MCL Cafeteria was one of the places I loved to eat as a kid. Who made better cinnamon rolls and pie than MCL? I was visiting my family recently, and they asked me where I wanted to eat, and of course I blurted out MCL. So they told me about the newer one out on West Rockville Rd, and I was game. We arrived and hardly anyone was there which worried me. However, I was delighted by the food which was just as good as I remembered. They know how to do comfort food just as well as anyone else I can think of in Indianapolis. The experience of running your tray down the line and having to decide from one delicious item after another is worth it. So, now I am a grown up chasing the next food trend in the San Francisco Bay Area, but I will always have a soft spot in my heart for MCL. My only concern is that the signage off of Rockville Road is virtually nonexistent, so you have to know it is there. I hope that they remedy this, so the place can do well and stay in business for my visits back to Indy.

Friendly cafeteria, draws a mostly older crowd. Lots of choices, of course. Daily specials for $ 6 – 7. Otherwise, figure on spending $ 7 – 10 depending on appetite. Pleasant décor. Located in an outlot on the Wal-Mart property between Chase, Goodwill, Discount Tire, and Wal-Mart.
