Simply Massage

I give this place 4 stars because they do not offer couples massages at this location. Which is one of the main requests from couples on vacation I’m sure. So my husband and I had to spend our hour in separate rooms. Also, there were several times I could overhear conversations and bumping going on throughout the facility. I definitely have been to quieter massage locations. However, price isn’t bad, $ 75 for one hour customized to your likings. My therapist was thorough and I left feeling that my once tight muscles were more relaxed.

Wow! Amazing place and fantastic therapists, it’s such a pleasant surprise to have a massage place that over delivers! Carol is fantastic!

My boyfriend and I both had great massages from Pam and Joel and couldn’t be happier with the experience. The therapists did a wonderful job working over our very sore bodies after a couple of days of hard skiing on our vacation, and we would recommend them both and return any time we’re in the area. The facility is clean, comfortable, and welcoming — and the price is in line with what we’re used to in Chicago, which is to say, quite fair for Beaver Creek/​Avon.

First of all, I do know who to expect of a Therapist and a massage. I am a Therapist and an instructor. The Weirdo Male Therapists breathed way too heavy and it felt like his face was getting a little too close to my body! Yuk. I was stiff the whole time. I never felt comfortable or relaxed. I will go back and give the company another try and hope I can give them 5 stars next time.

Pam was great. Strong massage as instructed. Staff works to give you close to 60 minutes as possible

I just called and asked for a therapist with a sports background and was guided to DiAnna Kelsey. Sometimes you draw the winning ticket and that is what I felt like. She asked what areas I was having issues with and away we went. Perfect level of pressure and found the trouble spots right away. Extremely professional and highly recommended, I Will definitely schedule back on my next trip to Vail. Perfect choice for bicycle warriors who want to enhance their recovery.

I called at the last minute with horrendous neck pain. Mauricio (who I wanted) was available; he work for an hour using Hoshino therapy and by that night, my neck pain had reduced by 60% and today I am almost at 100%. He is amazing and sweet. He is off today but gave me his cell number in case I needed to see him on his days off. NOW THAT IS CUSTOMER SERVICE! Thank Mauricio!

I get a lot of massages and the one I had today with Brian was the best ever! Book 90 minutes for the best all over experience. Thank you Brian!!!

Daron is an awesome massage therapist! I will definitely go back. He found my problem areas right away and was very knowledgable.

I was in the Avon area on April 21 – 22, 2015, and booked on-​line with Stephanie, based on reports I’d read. After all, why not get the best whenever we have the chance, right?! I was so pleased with my Destiny for leading me to that result…
In no time at all, she can find and zero in on anything going on in your body, and best of all, she will set about eliminating it. She can also explain it to you in ways you can understand, and is a wealth of info on how to avoid harmful habits or conditions. All you have to do is keep breathing and trust her to use the right pressure till it’s been released, and it will be the best use of your massage time and money EVER.
She is able to know and feel everything she needs to help you, whether you tell her or not. It was a welcome relief to give my body up to her powerful techniques.
You might be surprised what she can work out of you in an hour!
She will amaze you with knowledge — fruits of her constant hunger for research and appetite for learning — and she will delight you with her agile mind and endearing conversation.
Stephanie is, quite simply, THE BEST.

I recently had a massage with Joel who gave me absolutely the best message I ever had. I am a member of an unnamed message establishment back east and I frequent those facilities once per month and never received a message as good as Joels. The front desk receptionist was nice and friendly. If I lived in the area I would go at least twice per month. It’s the best 65.00 dollars spent on my vacation. See you you soon

Therapist failed to show. There is some type of automated system that therapists are supposed to check, and if they do not… well, no massage.

Great massage! Joel was awesome. A deep tissue is always needed after a beating on the mountain!

I have been here 3 times now along with my wife, sister, and grown children (for a total of eight 90 minute massages). Every single massage was excellent. This place is reasonably priced and has talented massage therapists. Recommend Mahadev, Tilly, Joel and Eric. Easy to get an appointment and very nice massage rooms.

The facility is minimal and peaceful as opposed to complex and active like a spa, which suited my needs and was reflected in the affordable prices.
The reason for my five stars, though, is the massage given to me by Amy Rogers.
After four days of some serious biking and hiking in the mountains, my whole body was sore, especially my lower calf which felt like shin splints on the back of my leg. In the hour given for the massage, Amy worked wonders with all my soreness and by the next day, it was almost completely gone! When I’m in Avon again next year, I’m making a beeline straight to Simply Massage if Amy is still there.
My very minor criticism of the experience is they have a tip chart posted at the desk that suggests how much you give, and the range started at around 25% and went up instead of reflecting the more standard 15−20% for tip-​based services. I will say that nobody pressured me to follow the chart or even give a tip at all. Again, minor stuff.

I’m giving this a 3 because I’ve had lots of good-​to-​very good massages here over the years, but the massage from Mauricio was the WORST I have ever had in my life. I’ve had many massages of varying types over the last 20 years, including deep tissue, and never encountered anything like this. He describes his technique as «acupressure,» which might have been fine if that’s what I was expecting, but I signed up for a MASSAGE. First problem is that it’s a dry technique — no creams or oil — so it was terribly uncomfortable on my bare skin. Secondly, he never rubbed or massaged the muscles in anything like a massage technique — he jumped around from one body part to another and squeezed or poked very hard on sensitive spots. When I flinched or Unilocaled, he said, «I know, I know, but you’ll thank me. It’s good for you.» He needs to be educated about what a normal massage is and not subject a customer who expects a massage to his horrible technique. I might have expected this at a physical therapist, but even then, it would have been uncomfortable but I would have had different expectations, and i would have kept my clothes on! I need another massage to recover from this one.

Short version: Amy Rogers is a rockstar. Seriously, she’s incredible!
Long version: After travelling and sleeping on a pull-​out couch, my back was even more sore than usual. Knots everywhere! Big ones, too! I was able to get an appointment easily over the phone and they got me in right away.
I was in PAIN before my appointment and Amy R. made me feel human again. She knows what she’s doing. Very professional. She listens and she modified the pressure based on what I requested. I also like that she understands the value of quiet during a massage. Other than short exchanges about pressure and knots, she let me enjoy the massage in peace. I mention this because I have had several LMTs over the years who just chat your ears off. Not Amy. She just gets to work and stays focused.
Super affordable. Because it’s the off-​season, they gave me a really good discount: $ 54 for an hour-​long massage. Woot!
The front desk people were also fab.
Next time I’m in Avon, I will definitely go back to see Amy.

I called in the morning for an afternoon appt. The desk greeter who checked me in was welcoming. After a brief form, I was led back to the massage room. I had an incredible massage for a reasonable price. Likely the best massage I’ve ever had.

If you don’t need all the fancy dancy spa stuff then you can’t beat this place for a good massage at a great price.
You can’t just walk in though, call ahead and schedule your appointment.

Simply Wonderful is what it should be called. I am not a local, but I come to the valley every December to visit my family for the holidays. A visit to Simply Massage has come to be an expected Christmas gift from my brothers, who are locals. I think it’s been about 4 or 5 years in a row now, and while I only get a massage here once a year, I start looking forward to it a month in advance. I’ve had a different therapist every time, and every time it’s been great. Just the right amount of pummeling so that I am pleasantly sore for a day or two afterwards, but not in so much pain that I can’t do the usual Colorado activities — you know, the après-​ski hot tubbing and drinking…
